The Sisko Cool, and if you build me 100 trucks and I give you $10, you have trade surplus. Who cares? I’m better off with 100 trucks than $10. Trade surplus means nothing. As it doesn’t account for the value added benefits of item to an economy.
@@BobTheBob647 it means u get more then me. it means u have more people working then me. If Trudeau had half a brain he would expand the oil sands and require these nations to buy Canadian oil in return for those $10 100 trucks to employee Canadians.
Good luck with that. Asia is notoriously isolationist and other than your beef, chicken and pork, won't buy your stuff. They aren't going to buy cars made in Ontario, they don't use syrup, they won't buy your other finished goods. They will, will however, sell you a car they built with 100% Asian parts in Canada duty free. Even Canadians might stop buying Canadian cars made with more expensive labor.
No, the TPP and the CPTPP were (and are) available to be read by anyone. No part of the agreement is secret. Also, some of the claims of secrecy turned out to be false. Some parts were criticized because they were not released before they were written!

I would be interested in exploring the LNG market in Japan. Since the reactors shutdown, there has been a huge growth in consumption and coincidentally Alberta produces roughly 60 % of Canada’s natural gas and they could easily expand, this trade deal may give Canada an advantage over US. Environmentally, gas pipeline has much less impact in the event of a rupture over oil. Natural gas coupled with fuel cell over a distributed network, it could be very efficient. I see more potential for gas in near term over oil. Price for oil will bounce a bit as production cut from OPEC and Alberta takes effect and speculators over shoot.
...are you on drugs ? Canada doesnt have an advantage over anyone, you guys are regulated out of the market. The fact that you even mention a pipeline is bizaar. See Ya !

As long as we are not plunging a country into deeper dictatorship, I'm all for free trades. But, where is South Korea and Taiwan in this? Did these 2 countries felt asleep during the negotiation.
Does Canada tell US about this matter? What if their UMCA clash with this TPP? Canada will make US angry if they trade with non market economy such as Vietnam.
Trade agreements create jobs dum dum. You can join in on the fun as well as starting a company is extremely easy in Canada - unless you are lazy, then by all means, complain away.
Besides jobs, what are we going to be exporting to Asia? Let me guess natural resources and farm products. So is this deal going to decrease resource and food prices for Canadians? I somehow doubt it. Will a mass exodus of jobs be prevented somehow? We shall see. Anything can be done cheaper in some of these countries. Watch for a mass influx of drugs, temporary foreign workers, and laundered money all while giving up more sovereignty to global system..
In these kind of trade deals, there are always winners and losers, you can't win em all.... Just have to know if you would gain more than you lose. Go for the greater good because you can't please everyone.

Warner is the smartest guy on trade in the world. Love hearing this guy speak.
good for Canada !
Keep the US out of this one
Good, we need to trade less with the US and more with Asia.
Careful what you wish for..
U want more one sided trade that bennifits china right?
One thing Trump is doing right is fixing the trade issues with China.

CBC now blocks the comment section when discussing china/Huawei. Talk about free speech.
And yet, your comment is still here.
They block on videos they dont want u to comment on.. they cant block all videos soo.. ya.
Somehow I think your lying.
I noticed that, especially since the question was should huwai be banned, and sure enough comments are disabled for this video.
You end up with a lot of yahoos who want to start fights.
To trade with Asia don’t you need to go through Alberta. Maybe Alberta should add on a 6% tariff on Asian products.
I'm not sure you understand what a trade agreement is. Have you tried reading it?
Increases labour standards for workers? Seems like the most important part was not covered in that segment.
Are parts of the treaty still secret? The TPP was a secret treaty held secret for 10 years after signing.

Canadians have a better sense for trade than us it looks like. Way to be.
Among CPTPP members , where Canadian products are going to sell? It is a bad deal for Canada.
Free trade = increased competition = lower profits = suppressed wages
It also equals reduced or no tariffs or taxes, priority deals and trust.
