- Max Payne 3 Multiplayer content is BACK for the New Year! It's so awesome to see in 2023 that Max Payne 3 still has a small player base on PC keeping the game active and alive! The game is such a refreshing experience if you're someone who plays GTA Online often. This multiplayer offers deep character and class/weapon customization so you can tune your guns/attachments just right and ultimately pick a play style that suits you. Whether you're someone who likes to be agile and nimble who plays at a fast pace, or if you're someone who likes to play at a slow pace, sitting on a rooftop camping with a sniper rifle, this game will have options that suits your needs the best. Yea that's when multiplayer was in it's prime! I started playing Max Payne 3 in late 2019 and haven't stopped playing it ever since. It is highly addicting.

This was my shit. This was better than all of the multiple player games. I'd rather play this than call of duty.
Yes this is way more action packed than Call Of Duty and requires way more skill! You have to be a lot more careful with your aim since the weapons actually have recoil.

@MirChrome No sadly Max Payne 3 is only playable on Steam in 2024 via the Steam version.

Man I'm mad they don't have this version of the game. I spent so much time playing multiplayer mode. That was my favorite game.
Yea I had the Xbox 360 version to begin with and then they shut down the servers so I switched over to PC which still has active servers online.

Max Payne 3 on PC through Steam averages about 150 players a day so finding a match isn't too difficult most of the time, I also have a lot of friends on my Rockstar friends list that play Max Payne 3 so I invite them to games when they are online. Also Max Payne 3 servers are shutdown on Xbox and PS3 sadly :(

Yea sadly I didn't get to try this game until 2019 so I missed a lot of the game's prime as well. I was still able to get to a decent rank in multiplayer and was able to snag some multiplayer achievements shortly before they shut the game's servers down on Xbox 360 and PS3. The PC version of Max Payne 3 still has a small amount of players who play on a daily basis. I still play the multiplayer every now and then it's insanely fun.
the messed up part is that this game didnt have a big community even in its prime. it needs a revival bad

Yes unfortunately it is a p2p game. There is no in game server browser.
This game needs a release on Nintendo Switch, multiplayer included!!

I had this on PS3. Didn't get the special edition with the statue because I totally forgot to pre-order it. But I did buy the statue last year.
I've been looking for the statue online with no luck, I've been trying to buy one forever lol.

Nope, PC Achievements and Xbox Achievements are totally separate. There is no way to transfer achievements from one platform to another. Hope this helps answer your question! :)

You can play Multiplayer on the PC version of Max Payne 3 through Steam. Sadly Xbox and PS3 servers have been shutdown for over a year and a half now.

I usually play around 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time US, that is when the multiplayer is most active on PC.

I like multiplayer, but what I don't like about it is that it takes a lot of hits on the enemy to kill him
Same here, there's alot of cheap perks and boosts that give you character extra health or extra protection from damage. I wish it wasn't in the game it would make everything more balanced and take more skill to get a kill.
If GTA 4's gun fights were THIS exciting and fun
Oh I know Max Payne 3 feels like Grand Theft Auto 4 but with more refined and tuned mechanics.

I like the whole Max Payne series and that was a hidden gem, I thought Rockstar only made GTA games and I never noticed about other games like Manhunt and Max Payne

Usually around 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time is the best time to find games on Max Payne 3. And yes I've been messing around with the revolvers a little bit in multiplayer and they are really powerful!

I tried find a game year or two ago and there wasn't any. I thought online here is dead.
Multiplayer on PC via the Steam version is still active and you can find matches in large team deathmatch usually. Unfortunately Multiplayer on Xbox and Playstation has been shutdown for over 2 years now.

I'm on PC. Xbox and PS3 had their servers shut down over a year ago unfortunately. :(

Do you encounter a lot of cheaters when playing? I want to start playing the multiplayer again but don't want to run in to a lot of cheaters.
No I haven't run into any cheaters yet on PC, just a bunch of level 50 sweats who have the game memorized from head to toe and will use the most overpowered class setups against you.

On PC there is still a small active community that plays everyday. Your best bet to find a match is either in Large Team Deathmatch or Deathmatch in the soft lock Playlist.

I use to play the hell out of this game back when it first released. How are the online servers? Do you ever get any problems?
The servers on PC run just fine without any issues or crashes! The servers are pretty smooth with very little lag honestly. I used to play this back in 2018-2020 on Xbox 360 quite a bit as well.

@@Sneaky_racoon_sly Lobbies on PC population wise can be hit or miss. There's usually 150 players on multiplayer on an average night. I usually try to play around 3 to 4 P.M. Eastern Time US, that's when I find the most players online.

It's called aim assist for controller... and the playlist specifically says it's SOFT LOCK so everyone has aim assist.
Yeah I remember an old head told me to turn aim assist on this game one night and it was like having aim bot
@@universe10kbeats56 Yea the lock/aim assist is very strong in Max Payne 3, I can see why people prefer the Free Aim playlist. I really only use Free Aim in Single Player to add extra difficulty.
