Eddie deserves real credit, after a tough start he has the team flying. Worth noting we are 7th top spenders. Isak gets the headlines rightly so but Tonali the conductor again.
Sound summary chaps, another fantastic historic result. Wolves did look capable of scoring the full 90, the better team won comfortably in the end. Nufc are great to watch once again! Cheers
I disagree with Si’s comments about our defence. To an extent! Recently been IMPERIOUS in defence. But Wolves cut us open several times last night. And you have to admit we’ve been lucky lately too. Think of the sitters missed by Arsenal etc. I’m not complaining because WE ARE absolute class but I just want that defence to be on point as much as possible. All in all, I’m gleaming! Thank you Eddie and the lads!!! Howay man!!!!!!!!! Will be screaming my ass off from the Gallowgate on Saturday.
As good as BDB has been, we really need a pacy CB sooner rather than later. Fair play to Wolves, they were unlucky not to score at least a goal - a classic case of things going against you when you're at the bottom end of the table...
Next challenge is to beat Bournemouth in the league for the first time under Howe. Chelsea didn’t take their chances and let Bournemouth back into the game. Bournemouth look strong and this is a massive game for us.
Calling a team like Wolves "crap" and "rubbish" doesn't reflect well on you. Surely we can celebrate a win like this without sounding like arrogant, entitled pricks?
Crap probably was a bit strong on my part, but more the context of their league position Vs ours and where we aspire to be For what it's worth I think they probably stay up if they play how they did last night consistently.
Not many shouting for Eddies head now 2 faced or what. I doubt there’s a manager who’s done any better than eddies done at this club over a period of 3 years I’ve been supporting the team since mid 60s and the worst thing that happened to this club was Mike Ashley that crap is behind us now.
We will miss Fabian Schars passing and goal threat. But it can’t think how he gets back in unless we do something unnecessary and radical like 3-4-3/5-2-3.
these last games, the stats at the end don't take into account the stories of those games. In all recent games we have held ourselves in reserve when going ahead, often with 2+ goal cushions. Preserving energy. So when people throw possession, or xg; the context must be acknowledged, all that matters is the score. We are managing games so well, dominant team right now
Wolves were actually decent. They sat in a good shape overall and kept blocking and intercepting our passes rime and time again. They also created a couple of good chance. Early in the season we may very well have dropped points there. But this team now are relentless and we fatigued them into defensive errors letting Isak and Gordon free in the box.
32:40 Gordon did score at arsenal. Not at Man Utd. Scored 5 goals in last 6 games including 4 games in a row. Can tell theres been lots of games recently! Great show.
Wolves play five at the back out of possession which is slightly different than a low block. Ketch gets it spot on. They setup, well and they’ll stay up fine. Ketch’s also right about the defence looking vulnerable. I think this is because of how we play rather than playing badly. I don’t think Tonali is a number six though. Not a ‘standard’ one, anyway. Nor is Bruno an eight. Eddie is far too good a coach to settle for that.
Play Forest , City and Liverpool in Feb and cup ties against Arsenal and Birmingham. Let’s see where we are at the end of that month before getting too excited . Desperately need quality recruitment this month to insure against injuries.
Our midfield has got us these 9 out of 9, (Bromley excluded as Bruno and Gordon where too good). Murphy though? If he had a poor shot and bad cross he would be playing with his brother in lower leagues, he contributes nowt elsewhere. The amount of times he gave ball away last night, I was actually glad to see miggy come on lol. We are 1 signing away from top 3 I reckon
This current run is really all down to the heavy criticism Howe and the players received back in early December which gave them the kick up the arse to start playing at the level they know they can. Some will buckle under that pressure as we see currently with Man Utd/Spurs but others rise to the occasion.
Lol. Yeah. Nothing at all to do with excellent coaching, confidence, and team spirit. Of course, the turnaround is all due to the neurotic bedwetters and kneejerkers and their crackpot conspiracy theories. We owe them a debt of gratitude 😂
@@earthlingcarl3179 yeah. Apparently, the turnaround is not down to great coaching, or rekindled team spirit and improving confidence, all of which just needed a little bit of patience. The turnaround in form is entirely down to a bunch of neurotic online whingers throwing their toys out the pram every time there was a little setback. It's down to bedwetters calling everybody at the club 'crap', and demanding everybody gets the sack every 5 minutes. 🤣
You really think Eddie Howe wastes a single second of his time reading, never mind acting on, negative nonsense from self-entitled serial whiners on social media? No, i'm pretty sure he worked out the issues and solutions with his coaching staff and players, and internet mongs weren't at all involved in the team's upturn in performance and results.
@@BaronSpamediAn elite coach has Tonali in the right position from the start of the season and has the team firing on all cylinders from the off . Thats not Eddie
Do you think newcastle are in for a chance to win the premier leauge? Can we dream big? We are only 9 points away from the top and only halfway through the season, and the way we are playing, we seem, in my opinion, to be on our way to challenge!
Yes we’re doing great & look good right now but let’s not get carried away & think we’re unbeatable. 2 or 3 losses from no where & there will be the usual pathetic clamour for Eddie out.
Class. Winning when playing badly etc etc. I’ve got one gripe though. Anthony Gordon was awful especially first half. Barnes is out for two months. A coincidence?

Wolves were set up tactically really well at the start but as the game progressed they lost there shape and we punished them
Maybe the ref was honest and were just not used to tha 😂 felt he let the game flow alot which I like.
Also - Tonali has been the key. Getting the best out of him and his new positioning.
If we can keep this team fit and firing, we can do anything.

With the constraints of psr
Sir Kev did better
@ he was brilliant would love to see him back in some capacity. But better than what Eddie has given us in 3 years doubt it .
@@johnwatson7120 We finished 2nd in the league under Sir Kev . Eddies best is fourth
@ how many finals did Kev get to ?

Great result wish I could have been there.
great summary, lads. I was unaware that Bill Burr was a NUFC fan?

Paul scholes has said on tv tonight that Newcastle will win alot of games because of our midfield - coming from from him is a big endorsement

Wolves aren't rubbish. Nor indeed are Bournmouth. We need to keep going at 100% for that game.
I agree with Si, the game was very well managed.

After next 3 games I expect us to be above Forest and have closed the gap on Arsenal and Liverpool
All praise be to the mighty algorithm 😜
About time the team got some ref decisions go in favour of the Toon.
Dear all,
Canny video as always 👍

Catching up TF
We were a bit ragged . If they had a finisher we might have lost
Just shows how little fans actually know about managing a top flight football team. If you were Eddie out you know nowt. 😂
Bollocks

Totally agree. I was moving towards the Eddie out gang. Fed up with his game management along with his selecting Almiron and Longstaff.
