Where have all that kind of music gone? We age like Chad and Jeremy physically, but in our hearts we are still young.. well, musically. Great music Chad & Jeremy
I saw them perform this live with their other hit songs back in the 1980's and they sounded so magical on that night like they do in this video. RIP Chad Stuart and thanks for the cherished musical memories with Jeremy!
This is so very precious, CLEAN, full of meaning, true Gentlemen appearance, handsome, never heard 'trash' about, all around beautiful. Thank you Gentlemen. Thank you Father. We were, are still blessed. 👏 ✝️
There have been some top notch duos in the 60's. Simon & Garfunkel, Peter and Gordon, the Everly Brothers .. but Chad and Jeremy are very special to me. I love their music ...rip Chad and Gordon.
Yesterday's Gone holds a special place in my heart and memory as a 12-year-old kid who had just returned to the US from living overseas in Nepal where access to any rock and pop songs, via shortwave radio was spotty and intermitent. So when I listened to this live version, my eyes filled with memory tears, for my childhood, for the wonderful music summer of 1964, the songs of the British invasion, and a simpler time. FYI: Chad and Jeremy's A Summer Song is my favorite song within the rock n' roll pop genre. Peace to all, Justin
I have never seen this clip. A beautiful version of what I think is their best song . And I had no idea that Chad played piano so well! He played a GREAT guitar solo on the original record, and now this great piano work! RIP, Chad Stuart....thank you and Jeremy Clyde for all the great music.
Al, after posting my own comment, I want to respond to yours, because I'm crying with you, for the same reasons: the wonderful music summer of 1964 when rock n' roll music received new life and creativity through the British invasion, the Searchers, Peter & Gordon, Chad and Jeremy, Sandy Shaw, The Dave Clark Five, and of course the Beatles. I loved being a 12-year-old kid listening to all that great music. Peace & Blessings to you, Justin (Now living in Minnesota, originally from the Washington D,.C. area.
This song reminds me of my first love. His name was Karl. We both lived in Chicago but he was from the south side and I was from the north side but we met in the middle, at the Field Museum where we worked. This was one of our songs. This song expresses how we felt that summer of 1965. But his parents disapprove of me and forced him to give me up. I was crushed. Now he's just a nice memory of the first guy that loved me.
I'd just started writing songs when this single came out - they were one of my early influences. I wish they would do a version of my song "The Sands Of Summer"
I have never heard the piano taking such a prominent place in this song. I think it's great and puts a different spin on it. However, sifting everything else out and listening to just the piano, I have this thought that it could be used as background/incidental music for a Peanuts cartoon. I imagine Charlie Brown and Linus walking through a park and having a conversation while this piano part of this song is playing in the background. I don't specifically know why I think this but I do.
This was good. But their masterpiece remains "A Summer Song." No other non-Beatles song encapsulates the Summer of 1964 for me than "A Summer Song." A gorgeous ballad, rarely equaled by anyone. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/vfvL2oLeBYs/v-deo.html "...Don't you know it hurts me so, to say goodbye to you. Wish you didn't have to go. The older I get the more I realize we're all just young people living in old bodies. Beautiful song.
Well put!! :)

Such a happy melody for such sad lyrics. Chad and Jeremy along with producer/arranger John Barry - sold gold!!

They can still sing and they don't look wasted like others of that era.
Timeless
Superb duos

Chad just passed away. An amazing talent(s).
1965 ,17 and broken hearted, Where do I go from here?
It is nice to see Jeremy acting in the show on Britbox, Murder in Provence.
He was also on an episode of Midsomer Murders. He is very talented.
They will always have my heart. To hell with the Beatles!!
Wonderful
Hard to believe these guys were on an episode of Batman 50 years ago.
Yes. I loved you yesterday. Yesterday is gone. You didn't believe me about my son and I singing a lil song.
LOVE YOU
I was 13 when this song came out?
October 2024
I think I like the original version
The piano playing is a bit more bluesy than the record. A great Brit invasion record!
I remember them so well, esp this song.
Still, the vocals need to be a bit more above the instruments.

This is the theme from Cheers!!
Great song, the soundboard tech needed to ease back on the piano’s feed.
Stop clapping!
Not enough vocal harmony to keep me interested. Two guys singing the same part most of the time?
