HEY It does WORKS! Just uncheck "Load Solid Colors Only" . HOW? After clicking "Mixture brush tool" you will see the option menu for the mixture brush tool at the top (Just below the top main menu). At the left, where your see the current brush color box. Just very right to the color you will see a tiny (v) dropdown menu. After clicking you should UNCHECK "Load Solid Colors Only". It's done. But make sure to use "ALT + Mouse Left Button CLICK" of the area you want to select as a brush pattern.

I didn't make this problem solution in first 5 times and i was confused that why it's not working in my photoshop, but after seeing your comment, i realised that i should off this "load solid colors only" box uncheck and now it's working. Press alt+cntl not working, image part is not select
hold alt and click on the image only to choose a part from the image, then remove your hand from the alt button. and then brush using mixer brush tool
@@WeJustClickme when i press alt on the image, the mixer brush chooses only a color from the image but not a part of image :(

There is no name .. It’s pink. Just use the eye dropper tool on this color in photoshop,

As you explained in the video I did the steps correctly BUT, When I use Mixer Brush Tool It is working as an eyedropper tool, instead of selecting the area to drag, it is selecting specific colour and it is not working. What should i Do ?????
Did u hold alt to select a color? I made another tutorial about it 3 days ago. Go check it out and see if u have missed a step
I have exactly the same problem. Alt+Click samples the color instead of image area. I found the authors' comment where explanation is "watch my video published 3 days ago". but YT doesn't offer filtering by date./ I still don't know how to make Alt+Click force to sampling image area instead of color.

Who at Adobe thought this tool up. It has got to be hands down the most weird, non intuitive tool, EVER! I have tried to use it, but I am going to have to remove it from my tool bar.
It has different functions. But this is what i used it for . I dont know other functions of it yet. U can research it. It is helpful

For those struggling to achieve the same effect as I did, make sure to uncheck "Load Solid Colors Only" in the brush dropdown menu.

Try to make the brush size bigger
