You are simply the best! Seen other tutorials on this....none simplified it like yours. Thank you so much!
this was very helpful, haven't used photoshop since college and this was the refresher that I needed:)
Clear, simple, and gets to the point, thank you very much for this tip. :)
This tip made me go back to using Photoshop. Thanks!
I found about this a few days ago, I don't use it for skin but for clothes is great it mixes everything perfectly^^
Ever since I got to know this it has really helped me in my digital painting
Happy to hear that! 😊
I haven't even finished watching this yet but THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Yes this works (2020 update I recommend using the scratch blend brush) at a small size between colors it works better
Thank you for the tip 🙂
Thank you so much for this. Works great!
Thanks for this great tip. Not enough “like” buttons to hit.

thank you so much your tutorial was super helpfull^^
it is great. question:mixer tool in ps 2015 is very different from 2019 even with same settings how to make 2019 mixer tool be just like 2015?
Hey Aya, try tweaking the settings until you find the effect you like. Also, you can try using different brushes with the mixer tool, that can change the whole game 😀
@@Paintable ok thanks so much
i just discover your channel and you re awesome really. love your style.
+Digital 101 Glad you like it! New exiting content is coming soon :)
+Paintable i wait for It. It s been a long time i ve not paint. thank you for give me the motivation ; )
i always use this one
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the tutorial! However, my mixer brush does create pixels...even though I made the same settings as you did. I wonder why :(
Hey Madalina, make sure that in the mixer brush settings bar the box called 'Sample all layers' is ticked. Let me know if you need more help with this 🙂
Okay but how do you change your mixer brush shape? If I change brush it forces me back to paintbrush mode instead.
THANKYOUUUUU
Good video, but not sure why you said that you can't get a texture effect with the smudge brush. You totally can, especially if you create a custom brush, like I did
What!? There's blending brush for months of using photoshop I don't like the smudge tool sometimes cause it gets muddy.
dafuck... been using photoshop for years... didnt notice that mixer brush.. holy mother of god O_O
Whats the short-cut to increase/decrease the brush?
There's no default shortcut for it, but in Photoshop you can set it up like this:
Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Choose Shortcuts for 'Tools' and scroll down, the Increase/Decrease Brush size should be towards the end.
Hope this helps, happy painting! 🙂
@@Paintable thanks you im gonna check it out on the afternoon
umm small question here, Do you use a mouse? or by any chances, Do you use a mouse with such sensitivity which can have pressure in doing brushes in photoshop?
I highly recommend you get a tablet if you want to get serious about digital painting! You'll never be able to get as accurate with a mouse, plus you'll be lacking pressure sensitivity. Entry level tablets start at just $60. Hope that helps!
Actually, Huion tablets are extremely cheap and my first tablet was 20 bucks!
I don't have that brush tool. I only have CS2 =(
Wolfgirl93 Me neither :( but the smudge tool can work similar
you can get some free trial versions of photoshop in bit 32, just search them in google. i'm using photoshop cc 2014 32 bit. i keep changing trial serial number to use it again.
Synyster Smile that’s illegal.
@@MeloFloww Calm down mom
how do you paint with a painterly look instead of the smudge look?
This method looks too blurry like it was using the smudge tool, im looking for the painters method where every brush stroke is seen when blending like an oil painting. sam spratt style
This comment is old and perhaps you found a way to achieve what you wanted. But you can do it by choosing the right brush set it on load colours instead of just pushing the pixels around and also play around with the settings. I would suggest putting mix and wet rather low.
Really, thank you so much for this video and the brushes
Happy to help 🙂
