Today I tried all the new Fairway woods that came out. I was gonna walk away with the Sim2 max. I was never a fan of Ping. But at the last minute I tried the G425 and I bought it. Love at 1st swing.
Thats an interesting turn. If you don't mind me asking Josephine what was the difference for you between the Sim 2 Max and the Ping G 425 Max that made you lean Ping??? I have been a big fan of the Ping Woods since the G 400 Series. I like the shallow face as it enhances my ability to hit the ball off of the deck. I recently added a # 5 & 7 wood to the bag in the Ping G 425 Max series.
@@josephdubiel7129 I statted hittimg the TM Sim2 1st then I tried all the other brands. I was gonna walk out with the TM. I didn't include Ping at 1st because Ping and I have a love hate relationship. But at the last moment what I tried it. Ot just felt so right and I was getting the same distance as the TM Sim2 max a 100 shots earlier. I have been playing with it for months and love it. Good off tee and off the ground.
@@josephinecampbell3196 Good for you. Woods especially the 3 woods are tough. I love Ping Woods as I hit those better than all the other makes. I am using the G 400 and G410 but this current version hits further and the dispersion is better too. I was curious about the TM Sim 2. Some hit it further than the Ping however it obviously depends on the individuals swing. For you and I the Ping is the better choice. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. :).
When my friends complain they cannot hit a 3 wood off the fairway I always recommend a Ping 3 Wood. That compressed face really helps. Makes a huge difference taking a ball off of the ground.
I tested both of them Max and Lst. To be honest the Lst is the best fairway wood I ever hit. Looks perfect at the address with its square face and clean top line. And I don’t feel that the Lst is lack of forgiveness at all, it actually performed better than the Max for me. Good job Ping 👏🏻
Watched a few reviews now by different people the consistency in the reviews is encouraging and the max is coming out well for people of my ability. Looking forward to coming across for a fit as soon as we can travel.
If you can hit center face all the time, buy the wood that feels best. If not, save yourself some frustration and buy a Ping. There is a difference between good and miss-hit shots, but the gaps are smaller than other fairway woods.
Currently gaming the G410 standard 3 wood and love it. Have you/are you/can do a comparison between to the G410 and G425 max 3 wood? Right now and solely based on your opinion, is there a lost of difference between the 2 clubs, would you save it is worth upgrading?
I have Taylor Made woods in the bag. They're about 10 years old, and they are SO reliable. But maybe it's time to compare what these new Pings can do for my game. Thanks for the review.
My bag is ping and Taylor made mix , Ping G400max driver -250yds Ping G410Lst 3wood (closed up to a 16 degree 4wood)-230yds Taylor made Vsteel 7 wood -205 yds Taylor made Vsteel 9 wood -190 yds I’m a 1 handicap and luv this combination ........good luck with your decision, cheers 🍻
Last year you test the ping g410 3 wood was so much different of the distance compare to the g425, the club head speed for g410 was 110, ball speed was 153, carry was 242, total was 260. For the g425 club head was 102, ball speed was 152, carry was 256, total was 277. Why so much of the different of distance? 14 yards different?
No mention of shaft? I think I've similar tempo, swing speed to you, were you using stock stiff shaft? Pro told me my project x 6.0 is my cobra f9 3w was too spinney. Any idea if stock s shafts in ping are the stiffer end of s? Great videos, thanks!
Great video Michael. I am booked for a driver fitting soon for the G425 Max. I also plan to upgrade my 3 wood to G425 Max. I currently have a 2012/2013 Nike Covert Tour 3 wood... question is what will the new G425 give me versus my old Nike? Thanks in advance
Would like to hear more about the SFT option available in these. Would love to see you test one of those. I do think the whole line is great. Good review and thank you.
I hit both the radspeed tour goes very long but little offline the 425 on miss hits goes almost dead straight I also noticed it has a very playable cut which is more accurate then a draw
Would love to see you hit g25 fairway wood vs the g425 and see the difference in performance. Be interesting if g425 performs that much better?? Thanks
Some trend now, for a lot of players who try to sound like professionals, that they dont like the turbulators. haha. They have never troubled me, like how they frame the ball. Patrick Reed won the Masters using the G400 Max with the turbulators so...
Great review. Thanks. Im a high handicapper who struggles with a FW off the ground but am interested in trying a 7 FW instead of my usual hybrid. I’m curious however to know why the Max and the SFT models have different lofts for the same corresponding clubs?
Decrease the loft with the loft sleeve opens the clubface and promotes more of a fade (the reverse does the opposite). I think there is also a flat lie setting on the loft sleeve. A flatter lie also promotes more of a fade shot shape.
You’re thinking of Taylormade and Callaway. Ping behave reasonably with their releases and only release if they can do better, unlike the others who paint it and say it’s better and the sheep will buy it.
Looking at the various review channels, looks like Ping has a winner with the g425. Unless you’re a super high spin player, the max is the one for 95% of golfers.
If you have inconsistent ground strike point go with rad for rails. I’m a 1 cap and I’m better with f9 even though other fairways I can hit farther... I noticed the new pxg has rails..
What ping have said turbulators make more of a difference to the driver head because of the size and speed etc. They then carried the turbulators into the fairways and hybrids to create a family and theme etc. They just wanted to freshen up the look of the fairways and hybrids in the 425’s. No lies, it’s totally not their style.
I have the 425 Max fairway and when I adjust it to increase the loft the back of the club sits to low and the face is off the ground leading to topped shots.
Hi Michael if you watch the video showing the loft sleeve adjustment you are saying the big + symbol adjusts by 1 degree in the photo but should read 1.5 degrees. Hope that helps
Great clubs terrible sound, I owned the previous model also great clubs but sound and feel not so good pity ping couldn't dull the sound down would definitely be the best woods on the market
I bought the 425 SFT 3 wood in hope of getting more yardage than my Big Bertha 3 wood. This is without any doubt the worst club that I ever purchased. Yes it makes noise , yes it makes a ball go fairly draw bias but very poor yardage for me as a senior player. I wish that I could have tried it before the purchase.

Just bought one today the max with ping tour shaft love it can’t wait til spring

Exactly what is the difference on the ping tour shaft vs standard shaft? Is it about your speed swing? I hit 3 wood about 250 to 265 yards. Thanks

For u, keep the max and dial the loft down, would seem perfect. Me, 5w dialled down to 16° and it’s like a 4w
Ordered mine with a Tensei in it. Can’t wait

Very informative as always ! Will you test for us slow swingspeed mortals with slice tendencies the G425 SFT as well (against the G410 SFT fairway) ??
Looking for that my self. I'm actually going to be testing one on the golf course later today. Would love to see Michael hitting one on here.
Would love to see the max up against the tsi2 fairway
You always do such a great job Michael!
Thank you, glad your enjoying

Hello mate, looking to buy one of these. Should I wait a few months so it hopefully reduces in price?
i20 looks with lots of tech! SOLD! ...this is a HUGE win for PING ...and good riddance turbulators!
Can you tell me what is the lie angle if its put in the flat lie angle position
I use the shot scope system . doe's that mean I would have to change the grip?
Great video Mike. If I add 1.5 loft using the sleeve on my Ping G425 3 wood will that effectively open or close the club face?
slightly close

The SFT is draw biased so it has to be a little more lofted to help square the face and keep it on earth 😀 loft=more squared at impact
Great review ty
Thanks for watching!
The settings print screen has the big plus and the small plus mixed up in the video 🤔
Please tell me how to adjust for draw or fade thank you
