Congrats Auro! It's been fun to follow your progress here on UA-cam. Thanks for the effort you put into these devlogs. I'm looking forward to the game's release.
Thank you! It's fun to look back at the early devlogs and see where it all started to lead up to this. I hope I can make the release a worthy end chapter!
That's a huge amount of wishlists, well done! And I agree that getting on those lists is a huge achievement. Fingers crossed that your release goes well! Would love to learn from your marketing tactics after you're done.
Hey! You're on the popular upcoming tab. For me anyway. I'm not sure if having your game on my wishlist has any bearing on that tab but if not well, then congrats!! And I know I already mentioned it before but good luck! Happy for your success and hope that it continues with the launch.
Hey Auro! Congrats on getting ready to release the game! Hope you get a good convertion ratio! Can t wait to play the game! I ll put your steam link in a few gamer and game dev whatsapp groups I m part of and hope you ll get some more wishlists! Wish you all well man!
Yooo can't wait to play it dude! I'm gonna be putting my demo for my first game and sending it out to UA-camrs soon so I'm going through this process for the first time myself haha. Good luck to you!
Thank you! Yeah, it's a shame for CoDD as I do think it's a good game. But I can also understand why it didn't do well and it was a very good learning experience in that sense.
Haha, it definitely feels like I sacrificed a piece of myself to make it - combined stress from financial uncertainty of making games + being a new father probably contributed a lot to that though.
@@voon7820 Yeah, marketing is tough, takes a lot of time and it's not very fun either (for me and most devs it seems). For what it's worth, my first game Mortal Glory only had 1.7k wishlists on release and ended up doing great so the number of wishlists don't mean everything. But of course, not to sugar coat it too much, it is an uphill battle and Mortal Glory was probably somewhat of an outlier with the wishlists->sales ratio.
Thanks for the info. I am doing it as hobbyist, so I don't sweat much for now. Perhaps next game I will plan marketing more Wish you success in both your Channel and games. Keep it up, Auro !
I have been writing emails daily to youtubers, several posts on twitter daily and some on facebook, shoutouts on discord and i only got 15 wishlists in the first month. What could i be doing wrong?
It's hard stuff and most of the time the things you try don't work at all. I would try to analyze why what you are doing is not working. Is it because the game does not look appealing enough to those who you are trying to reach (tbh this is most often the case) or is the way you are presenting it not good enough? It's good to try a lot of different things and then if something works, focus on that. For what it's worth, most youtubers don't reply back to you in any case and I think twitter, facebook & discord are not very good sources of wishlists. You should give reddit a try. It's not super good either but I've found it to be decent at least and you'll likely hear if the game is lacking visually somehow.
Do you have another channel where you promote your game? You have only 10 subscribers on your current channel, no links to your game or social profiles, which may explain part of the low results. UA-camrs, and generally all people, don't care if something isn't appealing to them.
@@AuroDev Hi Auro I learned lot from you regarding putting game on steam page. My first game is coming also. Working on Steam Page now. Any tip or advice
@@jaswindertoor735 Nice, best of luck with the game and the page! I would look at similar popular games, see what their pages look like and copy the best parts.
Good luck Tuomas ! 👍 I hope MG2 does good business and you can carry on making good games 🙂 and for wishlists, I am looking at few other devs as well who participated in steamfest with hopes of getting loads of wishlists but it didnt go as good as their expectations. Like one dev had 13k wishlists before going in and i think gained around 2500-2800 wishlists and then other dev went just like yours. I guess its getting tougher to get loads of wishlists from steam next fests. But at the end of the day, its onto influencers now and word of mouth by players so finger crossed 🙂 again you did your best so hopefully everyone likes it👍 Ps. I will buy and leave review asap the game launches 🫡
Ah, glad to hear it's not just me then! It's still a nice plus for relatively effort, but best not to rely on it much. Thank you for all the support! :)

Thank you! I'm also crossing all the fingers despite whatever list I get on! I'll very likely do a marketing video sometime after the release.

I'm so glad I've been watching you on YT. I completely forget this was releasing so soon!

Let's go! Will help you as a Day 1 Buyer :)

Good luck, Auro! I really like Chambers of Devious Design. Shame it didnt get more attention.

Congrats! Looks like I was 400 wishlists short a few days ago when I released :)
Thank you! Yeah, that sucks... I was surprised 5.4k was enough as often 7k is the number that gets mentioned.
@@AuroDev Oh well, maybe next time. Good luck with the release!
All the best to you!

Scam mails are a classic. Once I received one asking for keys even for their family members :D
Hah, poor family members need new games too!
Wishlisted. Hope that it can come in hot this week

Good Luck!

Likely a flop with under 1k wishlist. But that is on me, just aint got the time for marketing

How many wishlists did you have before launching Mortal Glory 1, if it's not a secret?
