    Great vlog for us head shavers! My go to head shaving razor is the Wilkinson Sword Classic with a Feather or Astra SP blade.

    My 2 favorite razors for head shaving are Rockwell 6S (baseplate 4) & Merkur 34C with a Voskhod blade and a shaving cream, I don't use a brush.

      I just bought a Rockwell 6C for head shaving, have never used a DE razor. That’s why I bought it, I’ll start using the number 2 plate for head and 3-4 for face.

    I shaved my head with a double edge razor today. I bought the muhle r89 with a personna lab blue blade. I had a hard time finding the right angle and nicked myself a couple of times. Also I think I was putting too much pressure. I've been using a Gillette Mach 3 for years so I'm not used to a double edge razor. My head is so raw right now hahaha. It feels irritated like I shaved my head for the very first time. I definitely need practice and technique. I'm so ready for the second time shaving

      I have been shaving my head for a little over a month using a Muhle R89 as well but I had and advantage since I have been DE and straight razor shaving for over 3 years. Do yourself a favor, get an exfoliating scrub for your head, head slick from Headblade.com or Walgreens and Bee Bald "Heal" for after the shave on Walmart.com, it is one of the most amazing products I have EVER used and will really help with the razor burn and bumps. Remember, no pressure and only use the weight of the razor.

    I have been using the Merkur Future on and off to shave my head, still get a mixed result. The slightest lack of concentration will cause nicks - sometimes nasty. I have dialed back the setting but I use it with care. It's great for face shaving though.

    I have the 23c, which has the same head as the 34c. and it is the worst shaver for the head I have. Hardly takes anything off.
    May be due to my strong wire like hair. I get great results from the ASD2, R89, Braveheart or Maggard V3A.

    I've been using the ej de89 for my head for awhile it does work but it's not efficient at all. I have to do so many passes. I've tried many blades as well. Blades don't seem to have as much difference between each other on the head as they do on your face. Should I get an adjustable or just a more aggressive razor ? I'm not sure what to do because I'm ready to go back to the Mach 3 which I really don't want to

    Great advices, Thankyou , am 46 , and bald enough that I decided to shave my head , i knew this day was coming so I decide to buy some gear necessary for shaving my head ,when I went to my barber for my first shave I was expecting he’d use lather and razor but he used the WAHL rechargeable shaver and decided to buy it , it did a great job,,have you ever used something like that ?,I think I will alternate between that and the Merkur Classic 2 piece Double edge razor that I also bought ,hopefully I won’t cut my self , what do you think of the SIR HARE Natural shave oil ,have ever used it instead of soap ?,I will try some the after shave lotions you recommend on this video , for now I’ll be using a balm that I also just bought .
    Thankyou for all your advice .

    I pick up a safety shaver kit from Walmart and wilkinson sword blades & soap. I shaved my face first. Wow it was great and easy. So I try to shave my head. I carved it up like a turkey. Blood every where. I had to push threw to finish . So I'm not scared off yet. What shaver would be best not too aggressive and not to hard to buy (I live in Canada ) for a beginner. Thanks.

    • @TheCleanShaver

      Hard to say whether or not it would get you a "closer" shave, but I would wager that it would give you a more consistently comfortable shave with less razor burn.

    Hey man! love your vids. Had to sub. I just recently went bald and I'm looking into razors, soaps, etc. Based off your vids, im looking at the Merker 34c or the Bevel. Before I buy, I would like to know your apples to apples

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  7 років тому

      I think the Merkur is a higher quality product than the Bevel for approximately the same price. Very similar in blade feel and performance, but I'd probably go with the Merkur first.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  7 років тому +1

      I don't think one will necessarily be better for sensitive skin than the other. But I think the build quality will pay off with the Merkur in the long run.

    Hi, I have the Merkur 34c and because of my very thick hair I can't get a BBS shave for the life of me using the 34c, it gets to a certain length and after that the razor just glides over my stubble (still no irritation) but it won't give me a smooth shave, what might you recommend? would love to know as I have had to resort to using cartridge razors which are way to expensive!
