  • In the wake of the racist and Islamophobic riots in the UK in the summer of 2024, Dr Sayyed Rehan Naqvi delivers a powerful lecture addressing the rise of far-right extremism and its impact on Muslim communities. Dr Naqvi explores the history, characteristics, and modern manifestations of racism, particularly the dangerous rhetoric propagated by figures like Donald Trump, Suella Braverman, Tommy Robinson, Nigel Farage, and groups such as the EDL (English Defence League). He discusses how these ideologies fuel Islamophobia and racism in the UK and across Europe.
Drawing from Quranic teachings and the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Dr Naqvi provides practical guidance on how to confront and resist these external threats with dignity, integrity, and wisdom. He also highlights the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of growing hostility.

"Racism does exist, it has always existed and it is always going to exist in one form or another."
This is so true. Racism is a persistent issue that has existed throughout history and continues to exist in various forms everywhere today. While it is important to keep fighting against it, true and lasting change may only come on arrival of our Imam Mahdi (a.s.), when justice and equality will finally prevail. Until then, acknowledging this reality helps us remain committed to challenging racism.
