Recientemente me he visto envuelto en un conflicto doméstico, por lo que he estado usando otro canal y leyendo sobre oraciones y practicando lo que he aprendido como creencia aplicada. Lo que dices sobre la pérdida de los idiomas arahuacos es cierto y estoy muy interesado en la restauración del taíno como lengua indígena completa, nadie aquí quiere hablar Arawakan, así que estoy viviendo en el área equivocada.

What did the taínos call themselves before European contact were we arawaks or tainos?

Arawak is a category of different people and languages which include Lokono, Taino, Garifuna, Kalinago, Wayuu, etc. What our ancestors called themselves is not known though it’s most likely they referred to themselves based off the land they lived. They called Puerto Rico “Boriken,” for example, hence why Puerto Ricans call themselves Boricua to this day.

Let me put it this way from one to another I am also Taíno and the fact that the Spanish came to our island and gave us illness and sickness we have been written out of history because of them and the English to did this to us

I do believe we are related. I’m 8-12% Taíno depending on test. My father has trace amounts of Polynesian/Melanesian. I believe something happened years ago. My cousin jokes and says my Drivers license looks like a black Somoan..

Yea to some cause i learnt Polynesian ppl migrated to South America, but depend who u married to or w/e cause according to my dna 21% Taino yet none poly in me but my friend who has 17% Taino too and he got Polynesian (forgot his poly %) yet we both same Ricans, strange isnt it?
