Oh yay, I’m soooo glad to see you Drew. Missing you, your experiences, so much that I’ve cried for the first few days. Good to see you popping up on so many other shows. Please keep it up. Best to Shannon and Archer as well. 😩👏🏿🤞🏿❤️❤️❤️
I am “New” to fountain pens (first pen was a Kakuno). I started to search for UA-cam videos and stumbled upon Goulet. I’d been watching Drew doing ink and pen videos and then watched a pen cast. Less than a year into this hobby and I was hooked. But I honestly had no idea how much of a positive impact Drew was on me. It wasn’t until I learned he was gone from the company and I started to try and understand what happened and I cried. It was just so sad that he would not be on the channel. So very happy to hear him speak and that he is doing well.(I did go find his Instagram to see his posts and saw he’d gone to Japan and the sticker sale, which I sadly missed out on). I cannot wait to see his channel!!
I am happy to see you again, Drew. I agree with Lori. In our family we usually say that everything happens for a reason. We might not see the reason right away, but further down the line we usually find that it was a blessing in disguise. I wish you all the very best in the future. And I hope that you, Drew, keep being the genuine and authentic, enthusiastic you that we have come to know and appreciate 😊❤
Drew is THE best. I’m so happy to see him popping up here and there! I hate hearing how he struggled. I think there was a moment for many of us where the rose colored glasses came off, but definitely not about Drew! Drew is Drew and couldn’t be an imposter if he tried, so I’m happy to hear some community support helped pushed those thoughts away! Imposter syndrome is the worst. I meant it when I said so many of us would follow you to any corner of the internet! I’m so excited for what’s to come!
It is wonderful to see you again Drew. ^^ You are exactly what this world needs and I'm glad that you are moving forward. Btw: Cool mic, headphones and posters. :)

I need Drew stickers. I hope I get to see you at pen shows again. You have always been a source of light for us, your openness and willingness to put yourself out here in the crazy world.
I bet GP is realizing what a following Drew had, and I’m surprised how I feel about all that! Not loving their decision no matter what the reason it seemed rather brutal! I can’t wait to see more Drew 😊
Authenticity is the new currency. Drew, you educated me on the use and care of fountain pens and helped me up my art game. T.R.E.W. True. You give it 100% and you deserve all the love and good in the cosmos. I appreciate and admire you. Thanks for all you do. The world needs more of the authenticity you bring. Arigato dude.
Drew is someone i wish i was friend with. I can talk with him about games, fountain pens, nerdy stuff for hours and laugh. I wish him the best of life and hope to see him on somewhere again hopefully
Oh I agree, Drew needs to review pens and inks on his own. YES YES YES!!!! I miss seeing you. The “Pencast” just isnt the same and I have stopped watching. 😢
oof, that open response about Gouletpens and the pause, where I suddenly look at Drew's face(I usually avoid focused eye-face contact), hit me like, 'this is what I feared so much about getting a job, and the kind of job under someone where if it stops, the world would just crumble'
It was presented by Brian that he left of his own accord not let go and that he was moving on of his own accord, the Pen Cast will never recover from Drew’s loss because All Brian has is the matter of fact Q&A’s now that I know that he was let go and how the Goulet’s presented it cause me to lose respect for the Goulets combine it with the hate controversy and I have to wonder if they are worthy of my business any longer.
It makes no sense at all, and came right out of left field. I feel bad for the Goulet employees because all the joy went right out of the pencast when Drew was shown the door. They must be taking a hit financially. Drew's individual vids there were always so fun too.
Q?? I wonder if Drew had any close relationships with any other GPC employees? Some had been there a long time as well. It seemed like a somewhat tightly knit community. Curious minds want to know.
Now I want a Drew colored ink, steel grey blue, jeans-textured, with weaker shades of pink and blonde, and some faint blue and ginger sheen. If it pools, it becomes dark brown, like the leather cowboy boots he should wear. Welcome back, Drew Brown. I wish there was some format where we could have our Drew flavor in every pen cast, old and new.
I have many fond childhood Pizza Hut memories as well, my grandparents used to take me every Friday night as a treat. It was the only time I was allowed to drink soda lol
You talked about Bullwinkle. It reminded me of my grandmother and my walks with her during thunderstorms. She didn't want me to be afraid of thunderstorms so when I was visiting when I was young we would go for walks in the woods during a thunderstorm. When it thundered she would say that "Bullwinkle got a strike bowling ". Fond memories of those times.
Just started being interested in fountain pens again after 3 decades. Found one of my old Shaeffers and a bottle of Shaeffer Script black ink while cleaning few months ago. Don't know where my other pens are but I just purchased a Lamy Safari violet blackberry and an AL-star aquatic sets. And yes, I know this guy's name already. Love watching his videos, not so the other guy... 😊
Awesome show of character to completely rise above any pettiness or negativity… Drew, your warmth, honesty and unbridled dorkiness will ensure that you’ll quickly carve out your own path, out of the shadow of your association with BG. And you’re such an awesome dude that in a couple of years when you’re the king of the UA-cam fountain pen hill, you’ll invite him on your award-winning programme and still be friends
Drew so nice to see you, girls thank you for bringing Drew to us. Not seen Pencast since you left (if I can say that) …….. wishing you ocean full of success……
Drew Brown you MADE Goulet! It is not the same without you and I feel so decieved by the Pencast announcements that were made. I can't wait for your channel, and I'm done with that company... that's not how you treat loyal employees, especially ones as great and as passionate as you!
So I heard Drew say that each one of us has a mean voice inside them, the one that tells us, in one way or another, that we suck. One purpose of community (friends, Drew said) is to help each person ignore the mean voice inside them. Sometimes it seems that all the love in the world can’t quiet somebody else’s mean inner voice, but that’s OK. Each of us has finally to be the one in charge of the inner voices that we listen to. But having a supportive community helps each one of us deal with this. I think that there are some people who are so scared of their mean inner voice that they project it onto others. These people sometimes shun community but try to cultivate a following. They like to be seen as special, and they sometimes attract persons who still under the sway of their own mean inner voice. We can learn to refrain from colluding with the person who is trying to project their mean voice onto us. In this effort, community is also invaluable. If you listen calmly to your mean voice, you’ll find that it’s not very intelligent. If you ask it intelligent questions, it is easily cowed. You can teach it to speak to you in a respectful way. Then it can become a helpful servant. My mean inner voice: “You have lousy social skills.” Me: “I’m learning, though. That’s why I’ve joined some new groups and organizations. I’ve made some new friends there. They seem to like me. “Actually, now that I think about it, telling a person that they have lousy social skills is not such a great social skill. I’d never say that to another person. Maybe I have better social skills than you do!” By this point, my mean inner voice is silent. So, I can say to it, “But I would like to expand my repertoire of social skills. Thank you for the suggestion. Maybe I can get coaching if I decide that I need it. “If you have any more suggestions and are willing to present them in a respectful way, I’d be happy to think about what you have to say.” In Ancient Greek literature, they speak of the Furies (primitive conscience) transforming into the Eumenides (the constructive, civilizing conscience) under the command of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and Intelligence. This is actually an example of same. Love to Drew from a fangirl.
We had a Bullwinkle’s in the California Bay Area (Santa Clara) many years ago. We used to have field trips there all the time when I was in grade school. It was basically just a cooler version of Chuckie Cheese. Apparently there is still a Bullwinkle’s in Oregon and they have bumper boats.

@vergitube yes!
Thanks for having Drew on … terrific episode.
I miss Drew. Goulet channel is not the same without him. The channel is no longer interesting. Looking forward to seeing drew on UA-cam in the future
A Drew Brown fountain pen would sell out in 5 minutes!
Drew is someone i wish i was friend with. I can talk with him about games, fountain pens, nerdy stuff for hours and laugh. I wish him the best of life and hope to see him on somewhere again hopefully
Great to see Drew sticking with the pen community. Looking forward to the Shannon and Drew Nerdcast!
To be fair, I think Goulet were saying it was mutual. But still, kinda sus.
@@archivist17 Drew certainly does not see it as a mutual decision.
@@evilcritter Clearly! And, like almost everyone else, I believe Drew.
I do not know what shocked me more, the idea that drew left GPC on his own or the reality that he was fired. Good luck, Drew!!
First time here, love the banter & so good to see Drew again (a true gentleman)
Thanks
AL
To borrow some modified words from Dr. Seuss:
Today you are Drew
That is truer than true
There is no one alive who is Drew-er than you
❤
So glad to see Drew! Waiting for his new channel and Juicy Broads I just subscribed.
I have many fond childhood Pizza Hut memories as well, my grandparents used to take me every Friday night as a treat. It was the only time I was allowed to drink soda lol
What a fun chat! I just love the pen community!
Drew! I can listen to you talk about your hobbies all day every day! I need to subscribe ASAP!!!! ❤🎉❤🎉❤
Yay! Drew Brown! So jazzed to see you again. I still have that Back-lit. Sci-Fi one-sheet movie poster for your room if you want it, Drew.
I have been missing Drew so much. So glad you had him on. I felt he left the Goulet pencast so abruptly and I had no closure, no feeling of good bye.
We love you DREW! So happy to see you. Hope to see more of you!
So great to see you on this show! Being let go is also being set free, you always wind up better off.
Really missed your banter I have not watched Goulet pens since you left
My mean inner voice: “You have lousy social skills.”
Me: “I’m learning, though. That’s why I’ve joined some new groups and organizations. I’ve made some new friends there. They seem to like me.
“Actually, now that I think about it, telling a person that they have lousy social skills is not such a great social skill. I’d never say that to another person. Maybe I have better social skills than you do!”
By this point, my mean inner voice is silent. So, I can say to it,
“But I would like to expand my repertoire of social skills. Thank you for the suggestion. Maybe I can get coaching if I decide that I need it.
“If you have any more suggestions and are willing to present them in a respectful way, I’d be happy to think about what you have to say.”
In Ancient Greek literature, they speak of the Furies (primitive conscience) transforming into the Eumenides (the constructive, civilizing conscience) under the command of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and Intelligence.
I only got into this hobby/space because I was looking for gifts for my friends earlier this year. Drew kept me interested, and I rewatched a bunch of videos with him in it after the initial news.
So glad to hear him back in his feet, and write on!!
I honestly can't tell you how happy I am to see you, Drew. I have legit missed you so much these past months. Friday's aren't the same without you.
Can't wait to see more of Drew!
I miss Drew. I hope he starts his own podcast. He’s such a cool sweet guy.
