  • In this video I put together a Tube Screamer Guitar effects pedal. This is a DIY kit I purchased from Stewmac. It comes with everything you need to build the pedal.
You need a soldering iron, solder and some basic tools for assembly. I would also recommend a Multimeter and some magnifying glasses to really examine the small connections.
A fun project for sure and a nice addition to the pedal board.
    Thanks for watching.

A humble suggestion that, on a bright, glossy surface, waterslide labels adhere better and leave no marks around it, plus when applied a final glossy varnish over it, it'll look like its fabricated.

That's good advice for sure. I've had mixed success with water slide decals. Most of the problems are user error for sure! Thanks for watching.

Sounds killer bro. Is this a clone of a TS9 or 808? I asked as apparently for example the Behringer OD800 and the Maxon OD808 overdrive are actually TS10 clones - which is that trademark bright and somewhat crunchy variant of the OG 808 tone.

StewMac states its a TS808 style pedal. I'm not a Tube Screamer expert to be able to weigh in on the exact variations. But it does the Tube Screamer boost and mid punch. Thanks for watching.

Sounds AWESOME, I've got the 2 kings boost kit. I just have to get the courage to start it. I saw you put one together, can you do a demo of how it sounds like this one? Thank you

Thanks for watching. I don't have the Two Kings pedal kit, but I just looked it up and it looks pretty good. Maybe a little more to it than the Screamer, but the same basic process. You should get it started! It was a real learning process for me. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.

@@jrgguitars3620 My mistake I thought you were the channel I watched. I will let you know how it goes. I've put together a few other pedals and it went well. This kit is a little bigger as its 2 in 1. I'll just take my time, I heard it's take 6 to 8 hours so steady as she goes. Thanks

does clone mean that it has all of the same functions or does it mean thats its slightly simpler and modified?

It is a real honor to have the real Obama commenting on my video 😀 Stewmac says it is a TS808 style pedal. It sure sounds like a regular Tube Screamer. Level, Drive and Tone controls. It does have a chip socket that enables the switching of op-amp chips. It comes with a JRC-4558D chip, but you could change the chip for different tones. Thanks for watching.
