In my opinion I believe it’s not going to make a difference in Pokémon sealed products I.e booster boxes. Due to XY or even sun and moon have boxes ranging from $300 to a couple of thousand and the top chase card is like $50 to $200. Why scan a $1,000 box to only know a $200 chase card is in it. Most of the box value will probably come from the sealed product itself not the contents.

@@dannykpopgold788 very true. We do not know what the future values may be but sealed Pokémon booster boxes seem to be worth more then the sum of the hits you could ever wish to pull out in most cases. I think it affects sports cards way more. A Hobby box of Prizm going for $18,000 and it’s new not vintage seems pretty tempting to scan for sure. Big money cards possibly in there from jump

Think your underestimating the fallout from this. The entire hobby of collecting cards, sports and tcg is going to be changed by this and not in a good way at all. Today you might not have box your collecting worth getting it scanned but come couple year some of your boxes/packs might be worth it, coupled with eventual more affordable pricing as more and more people/Corp will get into scanning side of this. The assumption the scanning cost will stay at 65/75 is pretty naive, and once they do come down, no one will be able to trust anything on secondary market for this hobby. Absolutely NOT a single good comes out of this.

@@t-raytrades8451 you you are correct boxes now worth $250 could hit $5000 in the future so definitely see your point. At this point it doesn’t affect me but at some point it most likely will

@@Top_Loaded_JRGS77 nothing can be done for stuff already printed or being printed, but hope with 10 billion in profits Pokemon raked in last year that they can quickly adopt and prevent this to go on much further.
Everybody keeps saying these hobbies are too big to falter in face of something like this, history has proven time after time, nothing is ever too big to fail if proper improvements are not timely managed and implemented.
