I thought it was a little too extreme of an April fools joke from Valve, but when I thought how much effort it would require for you to fake it just for the video, I actually started to believe that they may have decided to go that far for a joke. Now I am so much more impressed, amazing work on the video.
I think they colurs may be the quality off the knife. So: Blue = Battlescared Purple = Well worn Pink = Feild Tested Red = Minimal wear Gold = Factory new Thats my guess :)

the only place the editing failed was the pictures of the knives in the case preview, you can see the separation between the knife logo and background at about 3:17 nice job on the editing though thats pretty impressive
