I went with the 14.3 myself. It was a hard decision. Was my first experience having Octomore. Exceptional well for such a young aged Whisky. Unless you love that deep smoke, char, and pete I’d move on from this. If you got to have it this is for you, as expensive as it. Really good job conveying the differences between Octomore and competitors
@@BottleRaiders It truly has been a smashing year. Most I've spent in any prior year, that's for bloody darn sure. Chased down one of my grails being Ardbeg 25, that isn't being opened until another like 10 months when I turn 35. Bought all of the Diageo 2023 Special Releases. Just bought Marker's Mark Cellar Aged, Balvenie The Second Red Rose, Glenmorangie 18 Year Azuma Makoto, Ledaig 18 Year, Ardbeg Heavy Vapour Committee Release, Writer's Tears Inniskillin Ice Wine Cask Irish Whiskey, Nagahama Amahagan Sleepy Barmaid Set, & Scallywag Douglas Laing Year of the Ox Edition. Not all recently, but within the last half year or so. All of them are still unopened. Waiting for tasting gathering or other special occasion. It just boggles my mind how much the Spirit's Industry has evolved an changed over the course of like 5-10 years. Rye Whiskies are becoming highly sought an desired here in the U.S. Peated expressions especially in Scotch has been catching on. Tequila has really been surging as of late, an I can foresee Mezcal's picking up the slack if Scotland's Pete Ban Law goes into effect, which I hope it doesn't. Seeing more Char Cask, Port, Sherry, Wine Cask finishes as well. There is just always something new to look forward to. Just last week tried Wild Turkey 101 Rye, what a bargain of a good buy. Such a great budget friendly Rye Whiskey. I thought nothing would rival or surpass Powers Rye at that price point but that Wild Turkey made me eat them words haha.
Really loving the scotch reviews making a comeback and looking forward to more! Having had the 14.2 and 14.3 I agree they’re wildly good. I really can’t decide which I like more between the bbq dessert of 14.2 and the more malty 14.3. Don’t think I’ve had a .2/.3 I didn’t like.
Ardbeg’s Supernova and last year, the Hypernova series are also peat maximizers, but they don’t get mentioned as much because they are intermittent releases. I really liked the last Supernova release, which was 2019, I believe.
Ok yeah I do the same having them shipping from overseas. The prices in the States are out of control. But if I could find them for $200 here I would get them all day long.
Bruichladdich may be my favorite distiller. I have all the 14s but haven't opened the .2 yet, and truly have enjoyed the 14.1. This years release of the 18yr is another you may like in the $190 range. I'm trying t get a Port Charlotte 18, not sure if that will happen with such a limited release.
If you ever get a chance to try 6.3, jump at the opportunity. In my opinion, 6.3 is their best release to date and I have tried 1.1 and 2.2.
Got a 10.2 in transit to me now. Can't wait. Every one I've tried has been a banger.
Thanks for throwing these scotch vids out there when you can!

Appreciate it! That 14.3 is a killer release as well. This year's whole line is pretty wild.

Nice review I just opened mine last night the 14.1 and 14.2. Curious what area are you in seeing these for $200?
Overseas unfortunately, so a shipping component to consider on top of the standard “sticker” price
