@@sacrificedplastic Thanks for the reply. I'm glad he is bigger than the other Mafex comic figures, as it was hard to tell from the promo pics. Now I just hope the comic Thor has a similar size. The new Magento's chest is apparently bigger than the AOA version, so that gives me hope!
@@sacrificedplastic Yeah I love my Steel. Yes, Mafex figures can have a few qc issues, which can be annoying, especially for their price, but over the last month I have gotten their Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine, Deadpool, Nightwing, Magneto and now this Steel. And apart from Cyclops they are still the definitive versions in their scale over any other company.
@@cookedit of course man. That’s a good point you raise! Thor should be on this larger body - it’s mandatory that they get the scale right with these. But I have a lot of trust in what they’re doing over there. I totally forgot about Thor but now I can’t wait. I was just thinking what else they got coming? It’s been a big year already!
@@cookedit Absolutely! Sentinel has done a really good job. Shf is pretty good with Marvel also, but Mafex is just getting them almost perfect. That’s awesome, I’m happy you’ve been able to get so many. I got my Nightwing, can’t wait to open that, also still have huntress to open. I have the first magneto so I’m going to skip it, unless it goes on sale (like the new cyclops), but that’s unlikely.
Yes, these figures are more expensive than what Hasbro/Mattel offer, but people need to understand that these are Japanese imports made by a Japanese company called Medicom. Very few people in the states are buying this line of figures, which for my $$ are far superior to what you get from Hasbro/ Mattel. If you lived in Japan/Singapore, the Philippines, etc, these would probably be in the $45-$60 price range, it's the S&H that adds to the total cost.
@EduardoLamboy, I think I understand your point, and I think we’re on the same page🫡. I prefer paying more money for these and getting a waaaayyy better all around figure. The only thing is that for the money, I expect the qc to be better. Also, I do understand that these are marked up a bit here in the states and, S&H makes them more expensive than they otherwise would be in and around Asia. That said paying $20-40 bucks more should result to getting better quality control as well 🤙
Both figures are nice. But your comparisons aren’t fair due to the Mafex version is comic accurate to the Return of Superman storyline. The DC Direct maybe a later iteration. They are both dope to whoever can own either.
@FreddieB, I should’ve made more clear that I wasn’t making a one to one comparison since they’re different versions of the character (that’s why I wrote in the title “slight comparison”). I was more so trying to point out aspects that I like from each, especially from the older one. 🤙 Both are definitely dope. 🫡
Nice review, fella. Looks amazing in hand. Can’t wait to get this for my own collection. Mafex is killing it
@StephenRJVaughan, Thank you! 🙏 It does look amazing in hand. I’m excited for you, can’t wait for you to get it 🤙
Real informative and detailed comparison. Cannot wait for my Mafex one. The paint is very eye-catching.
@GoblinKid, thank you!!! 🔥 🙏Yeah, the colors look really nice. I think you’re going to love it. It is fun to pose and looks great on the shelf. 🤙

@@sacrificedplastic Do you buy your Mafex figures from state side stores or from overseas?
@@eduardolamboy4776 I try to buy them from HLJ or AmiAmi. If I miss them there than I resort BBTS.
