It's great to see videos where someone on a modest budget can actually get out and enjoy the backcountry with just a basically stock old Ford truck. So many of these "overland" videos are really just advertisements meant to try to get people to spend many thousands dollars on lift kits and huge tires and other modifications which aren't really necessary.
I am glad you enjoy it, lift kits and huge tires are definitely not a necessity for Overlanding and in many ways can be detrimental in my opinion. Jason
I bought my Toyota Landcruiser for 1200 dollars...That trailer alone cost 6 times more!! But I totally agree with you. Some of those jeeps with 37’s and a rooftop tent are just ridiculous

Overlanding is about the journey, and each person can do it as they like. It doesn't matter what you drive, it does matter where you drive it. I'm disappointed in Jason's comment, frankly.
Clay Mahaffey: You can´t buy a house for the cost of the trailer. The Ford truck is cheaper than the overlanding Jeeps on other channels. So what’s your point? I follow the Primal Outdoors channel for the great outdoor photography and cinematography. Jason could travel with an overland cruise ship worth millions of dollars and I’d still follow him as long as he keeps producing videos with such great production value.
The common Man (me) can get a loan on the trailer but making payments on a house, a Tacoma, and a trailer is too much. To daily s lifted and modified Tacoma is not fun

I love how peaceful your videos and pictures are. Nothing better than being at peace in the great outdoors. I'm not a very religious man, I'll tell you there is just something magical about just being somewhere no one else is. Listening to the wind break over the tall grass, staring at the reflection of the moon over lake water so clear it looks like the sky and water blend together. I used to watch Jason's channel pretty religiously, but around 6 months ago I got distracted and have not seen any of his vids until I happened upon this one. It's still as cool and as well photographed and edited as always. I am gonna have to zerg rush through his backlog to find out why he went from the rooftrop tent and trailer to this new set up. Another very good video. I've spent years exploring central and eastern Oregon when I lived near Portland, then moved back to southwest Idaho but I still steal across the border to head into Owyhee Canyonlands occasionally. Have made several trips in the far eastern section but there is still so much to see. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing the awesome video! The closing shot and music were amazing. Only 1 criticism: too short video sequences!!! Seriously, I enjoy seeing your camp and dogs and whatnot but I would >really< like to see longer clips of your true video/photo art sequences set to music. That last flight over the lake could easily have been twice as long and I would have loved every second and still wanted more. My two cents.

I love how peaceful your videos and pictures are. Nothing better than being at peace in the great outdoors. I'm not a very religious man, I'll tell you there is just something magical about just being somewhere no one else is. Listening to the wind break over the tall grass, staring at the reflection of the moon over lake water so clear it looks like the sky and water blend together. I feel like you capture this very well in your videos. Thank you for sharing part of this trip it's always inspiring to see your videos.

I used to watch Jason's channel pretty religiously, but around 6 months ago I got distracted and have not seen any of his vids until I happened upon this one. It's still as cool and as well photographed and edited as always. I am gonna have to zerg rush through his backlog to find out why he went from the rooftrop tent and trailer to this new set up. Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing more of this adventure. I never thought I would like the desert... until I got out in one. The forest is great, but sometimes it's nice to have long open views of the horizon.

Another very good video. I've spent years exploring central and eastern Oregon when I lived near Portland, then moved back to southwest Idaho but I still steal across the border to head into Owyhee Canyonlands occasionally. Have made several trips in the far eastern section but there is still so much to see. Keep up the good work.

So beautiful out there. Thanks for taking us along. Out in such remote areas where people can “pretty much do what we want,” as you say, do you ever worry about bad actors? Ever think you might not be safe out there? Have you ever had any sketchy experiences out in these isolated locations? It’s something I would be very concerned about.
It never crossed my mind, and I never had a situation that I was concerned about. It's far safer out there than in town.
