This is excellent and informative documentary on regional and international rivalries in countries along the Red Sea. As someone who closely follow international politics (especially Africa and Middle East), I should point out that beside the presence of the French, American, Japanese, Chinese military bases in Djibouti, the UAE has base in Eritrea and to counter this the Turkey has it own military base in Sudan (Suakin island) as well as their presence in Somalia . Recently Egypt has shown strong interest in having it's own naval base on the Eritrean Island of Nora, to counter Ethiopia's naval ambitions on the Red Sea. But this remains to be seen if Eritrea will agree to it, given rising tension between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Nile Dam which Ethiopia is currently building.
