Thanks for watching Everyone! *What are your thoughts on the Negroni? Like them? Loathe them? Which Mescal would you use?* As always the recipe is in the description box
Can you do something with Jack Daniels please?
My cousin loves Negronis. It's his house drink at his home. Not so much for me. I'm not a fan of Campari.
My favorite cocktail besides anything with champagne is the Mint Julep.
When it's time for the Kentucky Derby, you should feature that.
But I've also discovered I like Creme de Violette.
Sorry to go off-topic, but what happened to your pizza episodes?
@Chris Molloy - Canadian winter... snow, freezing temps, and snow.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking Understood. How about Sicilian pizza and other styles of pan pizzas in the kitchen? My favorite these days is cast iron skillet Pizza, started on a stove top and finished under the broiler. No muss, no fuss and delicious!
I usually see it as "Oaxacan Negroni" on menus!
I think you should call it a "Messy-Groan"? It's not just the name of the cocktail, but if you have too many of them it could also be used to describe your feeling the next day...😁👍
I tend to cut the amount of mezcal in half with tequila in cocktail recipes and this usually gives me the amount of smokiness I like. I'll have to give this a try.
I’m a fan of the Negroni. I have Campari and Beefeater in the house at all times
My favorite Negoni variation (thus far) I learned from Leandro at The Educated Barfly. He developed it for use with Mulholland Gin, which is from a Los Angeles distiller, but it is a cucumber-forward gin, so Hendrick's is an excellent substitute there. The big variant in this drink is a substitution of an amaro in for the vermouth.
The Mulholland Drive, created by Leandro DiMonriva
1 oz - Cucumber-Forward Gin (Use L.A.'s Mulholland or Scotland's Hendrick's)
1 oz - Campari
1 oz - Amaro Montenegro
Serve with a big rock of ice and float one barspoon of an unsweetened coffee liqueur (Mr. Black but NOT Kahlua) OR one barspoon of a very strong cold-press coffee.
I WILL use Kahlua and you can’t stop me
Awesome recipe my friend...I'm going to see if they sale this at my local bar.
Mezcal is an interesting agave creation. I like the smokiness fine. I had some really nice cafe Mezcal in Oaxaca last year that I could easily go back to at any point.
Just had a phenomenal Tequila Negroni at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in Vegas at NYNY. Definitely get an immediate bitter and then it mellows ending in an aftertaste of those old Strawberry candies in the wrapper that looks like a strawberry lol. The longer it sat throughout the meal, the less bitter it was at the start. Very little melting of the ice ball. Loved it. The ingredient list on the menu did include gin as well
If you’re gonna make a batch, there are smalls oak barrels that you can rest the Negroni and develop not only the wood flavor, but also the mix between the ingredients. :)
My favorite cocktail ever. It’s very hard for bars to make this bad, or use cheap alcohol (except gin of course).
John A in my region it’s only Carpano, Martini, or nothing. Thankfully.
Boulevardier also nice choice, if you’re feeling smokey tonight.
Yes! More mezcal please!
I love negronis and Montelobos is my favorite mezcal! I'm glad you enjoyed!
i wonder if Glen finishes his drinks and immediately goes to bed after these
CmonBruh !
Cocktails after dark, released at 11am. Perfect time for a drink eh buddy? I'm still on the clock lol
It's after dark *somewhere* at 11am where you are. 😉
@@worshipgeek maybe, but Glens only 30 mins from me, so it's 11am for him too
I love this cocktail, but it's true that it'll be completely different every time you order it. The gin can make a difference, but the Vermouth can completely change the flavor profile. A good quality one is essential to enjoying the drink.
I love compari I drink it on the rocks
Could you make a video making homemade amaretto or almond liquor?
According to Wikipedia (hardly a definitive source), it's simply called a "Mezcal Negroni" on "many craft cocktail menus". Dubious sources aside, an establishment is going to call it whatever they need to in order to sell lots of them. I myself would be more inclined to try a Oaxaca Negroni.
Try it with a grapefruit garnish instead of orange
You need to make a rum swizzle
JUST LURVE Negronis!!!!
Can you do something with Jack Daniels please?
@@mrtodd3620 ?
@@Realbenbudson ...do something with...? I hope it doesn't need to be explained. It's funny and your going to ruin a perfectly good joke..😁
I don't understand
Jack Daniels is nasty.. Unless you use Jack Daniels Silver Select.
@@NOWAY-jw3iq I like it in coke
A Mezoni
Why the iceberg in the glasses? XD
For the sake of production efficiency have you ever considered shooting eight or nine of these After Dark episodes back to back? It would be entertaining to watch the last two or three
That's the way I do it - Now you're challenge is to figure out which ones are near the end of the day.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking That makes sense now! It seemed like in some episodes the drink had more of an "effect" than others. This video looked like an early one. BTW, I love this channel and all the cool stuff you make.
😁✌🖖👌👍😎
Megroni
Mezgroni?
Wish I could drink alcohol
I see the problem with that drink. Campari is absolutely nasty.
