I’m Canadian and my best friend is Welsh, I met her around six years ago. She introduced me to Welsh language and culture, what an amazing country. Dw i’n caru’r Cymro.
Saw them 10 years ago. They have, and their music has, aged well. Great songwriting. Decent musicians, and the drummer, Matt, is a gift! Live, he and they, are amazing.
Great band! They always sound great in the studio, live or performing acustic. I really hope they can keep working together and put out more albums. Last album: GREAT WORK!
Have you checked out any of their other work? I love this, but the acoustic setup is actually a departure from their typical sound. Highly recommend a deeper dive into their work!
@@sleepyburr when i googled them ( and incidentally found her name ), from the pics i saw of her onstage, i got the impression they were more than an acoustic act 😂 thanks for the recommend; i'll give them in their natural habitat a listen.
@@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power They recorded an acoustic re-release of their debut album (all lyrics reworked into Welsh, no less) to celebrate its 10th anniversary and they've been touring it a bit lately so yeah, you'll probably see a lot of that in more recent pics. XD But yes, their ordinary sound is much... bigger, lol. And if you're looking for the original of that first track by any chance, the English name is The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade.
@@sleepyburr thanks. and "bigger," indeed 😂 i'm listening to a song called "whirring" now ( i should probably watch the music video, instead of playing a video that's audio only ), and the vocals remind me a bit of some of the work of an act called tegan and sara. i like it. ayye, there's even double bass in here 😂nice.
I remember discovering Joy Formidable back in middle school. What a throwback, they still kill it.

Austere was always one of my favs. This stripped-down version is fantastic.

Here I thought they just did sublime big electric symphony stuff... and here they come across with this wistfully, beautiful .... they're great!
I got to see these guys open for the front bottoms in Boise, I've been a fan ever since.
I love this set live

How has this only got 3k views?!
That was wonderful great job.
I like it.👍
Guy with larger hands plays a smaller width neck guitar and lady with smaller hands plays a larger width neck guitar! :)
got to see them with a VIP package. it was worth the extra 40 bucks.
New album soon?
Interviewer is nervous and keeps interrupting the band. Listening a lost art.
nice moniker, interesting sound.
and miss ritzy is quite intriguing....
