Hey Tony. Quick question on exposure on our R6. Its generally said middle gray should be around 40 IRE. But is that with our without a LOG applied? And is that with our without the +1 overexposure needed for proper CLOG3 exposure? I guess I ultimately want to know: what IRE should middle gray be for CLOG3 with the +1 overexposure applied. Thanks mate!
Those are good exposure questions. So the +1 is just a way to measure where you are at existing, not a strong rule. For me, I don’t get too caught up on the 40IRE, but feel out in post processing how the footage turns out. Once you get the hang of it, the exposure becomes second nature. As far as a technical answer, middle gray at 40IRE is with LOG applied with no lut. That will determine your +1.
Great video. Just bought the R6 after using an APS-C DSLR for the past 5 years and was looking for some upgraded accessories. For SD cards, would you recommend getting UHS-2? I may be using the camera in situations where I want to do the 12-20 shots per second for wildlife photography. Thanks!

One piece of info that I couldn’t find anywhere about easy data transfer from canon R6, is if you can use a usb cable with the new iPads pro?.Or it’s just for charging the camera?.I find the canon app to be terribly slow for transferring pictures and videos. Airplay for example used wifi also for transfer but it’s lightning fast.So I’m very interested to find a better solution.Happy holidays!
I’m not sure if you can plug the camera in directly. I’ve found the fastest way to transfer is to pull the card out and use a hub. I do agree w you the Wi-Fi transfer speed should be 10x faster!!
Hey Tony, fellow St. Louisan. Do you have issues with the RF 50 1.8 and AF? My 50 on my R6 will not support AF anymore. My 70-200 and 24-70 work fine! Canon doesn't have a resolution for me yet. Just wondering if anyone else has the issue
WHAT?! I’ve never heard of that. That’s crazy, i haven’t had any trouble with my RF 50mm f1.8, it’s actually what i shoot most of my UA-cam videos with. Hope you get it fixed, that lens cant even be that old.
@@brettboggs8350 that’s insane!! It’s so weird it only is with the RF 50mm. I’m guessing you’ve updated your firmware on the R6. Hopefully a camera firmware would fix it.

You can… I still shoot uhs-I even for 4k60 video and haven’t ever had a problem.

Is this SD card farts enough for r6 video? On Max setting's
I’ve never had trouble with farts on the R6 :) I’m guessing that supposed to be Fast, once again, no trouble with the R6!

@@TonyMellinger I'm on my 3rd one now. Canons saying it's an issue with the body but not sure how when all the other lenses are working fine!
