@Chuan Li Bro the Hunter's legs are the strongest legs in the world. The Hunter can drop at a height of 1000ft and the Hunter will just walk it off while chugging a mega demon drug.
Honestly i think helm breaker was better in World, because in Rise you have to wait until your wirebug finishes cooldown to perform helm breaker. Watch 2:50

That first stab of Helm splitter is a pain in the ass. Everytime it causes a clagger and you miss the helm splitter, I'm driven further to madness. Thank you Rise for fixing that

The animation itself actually faster, also i notice that if you failed to do iai slash there is a chance you don't spend any spirit bar level compared to world so yeah overall nice improvement

I kinda feel a bit weird about HH in the rise demo. Ive played MH over 10 years personally, and mained IG since it was released into the game back in Mh4 But the weird thing is I think I played HH as a meme 3-5 times over the years since 3U? But I did my best time against mizu with IG at about 10 minutes, tried HH for the meme and legitimately almost beat that IG time. I kinda feel like they went a bit overboard with it but on the other hand I'll be really happy to see more people play HH.

I had no idea it was possible to move like this in monster hunter. I was always hesitant to get into the previous ones because it looked so slow and clumsy but decided to give the rise demo a chance and it’s super fun but damn this long sword is on another level

Jesus, the LS is so much faster than in World, you just dish out helmbreakers left and right. I wonder, is it even worth it going for Serene Pose at all? Helmbreaker is so fast that you get many chances to land it.
Personally, I don't see a point to it. It uses a level of spirit gauge and two wirebug charges for something you can do with foresight slash and iai spirit slash. The first goes into spirit round slash and the latter automatically level ups the spirit gauge on a successful counter and doesn't spend gauge on a miss in rise. The other problem I've encountered with it is that the actual counter attack is slightly delayed, meaning a fast attack like a tail swipe at certain ranges can make you miss. The damage is also very mediocre for using two wirebugs and one level of spirit gauge. A single spirit helm breaker at red gauge does more damage than the serene pose counter at red gauge. Capcom is going to have to do some serious tuning to the move to make it worth using, in my opinion.
Like I have been saying from the start. Mh started to become easier when in jump ship to Nintendo. I mean ffs you can control a wyvern now to help you fight. Mh used to be hard and punishing on the ps2 now it's just hey spam that one move.

@@mrcontractorbk201 even then like I saw a speedrun with gs and a full tcs with the sheath buff was hitting 170+ dmg with first hit then 180+ with the second. Then 50+ and finally 400+ which is 800dmg without focus in about 11 seconds which is obviously great but ppl need more time to get comfortable with the weapons. With focus I can see GS doing pretty great again bc it's such an essential skill while LS is fine without any skills from the start and doesn't depend so heavily on a skill like GS does. When skills come into play GS is gonna be much close to LS for speedruns again
uwaaaa, I never used iai spirit slash a lot in World and would only use it in certain situations, but seeing how fast the flow is in Rise and how it now upgrades your gauge makes me really want to get my shit together to use it better xD I suck at using controller, but seeing you play makes me really want to play it early on switch!

I know people were worried about the spirit helm breaker being tied to the silkbind attack, but it seems even if you're playing incredibly optimally and getting back to red spirit gauge super fast, the cool down will already be recharged.
Is it just me or does it look like foresight slash is in its unnerfed state here? The invulnerability window looks much longer than it currently is on mhw.

I think for a speedrunner, they play so flawlessly that it isnt needed too often with iai draw and whatnot, but for the average player, its a high damage almost instant cool down full counter that doesnt need to follow a move. Its really good, I just can't see much use for speedrunners outside of countering elder dragons with hard to avoid moves like valstrax, but even then would it be better to just iai draw into a helmbreaker? Probably.
Serene pose is bad IMO, it uses two wirebugs and doesn't even do that much damage. I never used that moves, spirit helmbreaker only cost 1 wirebug so it's more spammable
@@kevinsirait3433 Yeah i feel like its more of an emergency move which could save a whole run for only 2 wirebugs. Using it in place of other moves, like you say, its not very good.

Regardless, I think there's something different with the foresight slash but I have no idea what it is. edit: also, I think you can't cancel spirit blade III into iai special sheathe anymore. Not that it really matters but i thought it was kinda interesting.

Hi, I am just a new player starting out with the Longsword. I have just one question if someone can answer - how does he instantly do the spinning Slash after the upward thrust just like he did in 0:45? I was trying to do the same thing but I can't seem to find out how to do it. My gauge is instantly empty after doing the upward slash (ZR+A) He also did it again at 0:53 right after the forward slash. Is there a command that will only allow you to use that final spinning slash instead of comboing it with ZR? Hope someone can help a newbie out, thanks!
Hey you have a timeframe after you use your Foresight Slash (ZR + A) where it will counter a monsters attack. If you do the counter successfully, you will take no damage and fill your Spirit Gauge. Additionally, you will be able to skip right to the end of your Spirit Combo by pressing ZR doing the Roundslash and going up one level. Hope this helps!

Have you felt the foresight slash different from World? I remember doing the input mid-combo and still register and performing the move after the currently combo. Now I must wait until the currently move is nearly finished to start inputting the foresight slash, because if it's too early it won't register it. Is it just me? And really nice run. Probably not. Basically is foresight slash with more i-frames and damage but instead it consumes a spirit gauge. So if you want to consume a gauge just use the helmbreaker
Peppo I have a question, in the hunter notes it says that timing the Iai spirit slash incorrectly will consume a spirit level like in Iceborne but I have completely missed and still maintained my spirit level. So did the developers make a mistake or did they just allow us to not get penalized for badly timed Iai spirit slash just for the demo so new players can get used to it?
Yeah i thought so too. But if you look at the time stamp here, 2:39, it shows that you'll be rewarded an extra spirit gauge if timed correctly. I'm not too sure if thats the case, we'll just hace to see until the full game comes out.
This mechanic already exist since TGS demo, so I'm prone to believe it intentional and they make a mistake in the manual, beside when you miss the timing the ISS will only do one weak hit if they have gauge drop too then the punish will become more severe than World. We'll know for sure in the full game.
Yes it works so much better now, you don't lose gauge when you're hit before landing the actual hit and it still connects if you're hit after it landed, feels so good.

I like how Rise removed the thrust attack in helm breaker, kinda makes it faster and easier to hit the head from what I'm seeing
It definitely is and due to the fact you don’t jump so high in the air less chance of you getting fly swatted out of the sky

im guessing maybe because of 30 fps theres less frames to react so they had to make it bigger? but it feels huge now

I definitely will. It has insane burst damage. I can’t only imagine what it can do with decked out armor and skills.

Well we don't know the skills on those sets and if the LS is higher rairity than the GS
@@JayAsis22 well the whole combo does quite over 500 or 550 dmg in about 10 to 11 seconds while LS does a little less but with more mobility.

I love how they did the longsword gameplay in MHW and even more in MHW Iceborne, but daaaaaamn this gameplay looks sooooo cool, so smooth and above all, so rewarding

Probably not. Basically is foresight slash with more i-frames and damage but instead it consumes a spirit gauge. So if you want to consume a gauge just use the helmbreaker
I'd say its easier to pull off, more user friendly, but for speedrunners or very good LS players, no
Peppo I have a question, in the hunter notes it says that timing the Iai spirit slash incorrectly will consume a spirit level like in Iceborne but I have completely missed and still maintained my spirit level. So did the developers make a mistake or did they just allow us to not get penalized for badly timed Iai spirit slash just for the demo so new players can get used to it?
Yeah i thought so too. But if you look at the time stamp here, 2:39, it shows that you'll be rewarded an extra spirit gauge if timed correctly. I'm not too sure if thats the case, we'll just hace to see until the full game comes out.
This mechanic already exist since TGS demo, so I'm prone to believe it intentional and they make a mistake in the manual, beside when you miss the timing the ISS will only do one weak hit if they have gauge drop too then the punish will become more severe than World. We'll know for sure in the full game.

Yes it works so much better now, you don't lose gauge when you're hit before landing the actual hit and it still connects if you're hit after it landed, feels so good.
