Awesome. I'm from London and I love how his music was way ahead of time! Im only 28 and feel kinda lucky that I stumbled across him whilst weeding through prog rock alternative hip hop frank zappa and then boom... Todd Rundgren! What a legend!
Yes ! I have fond memories of going to The Worlds Fair in 1964 in NYC ( Queens?) , with my family when I was four ! Love this song ! Got the album it’s from, & saw Todd in concert, back in 2004 when it came out ! Great video ! Thank you !
I love todd rundgren he is my favorite male singer and song writer. I miss him when he's not in concert. You have to see his new concert tour it is a light show extravaganza. I love you todd
Amazing song of Todd with a realistic and bitter view of the future. On the opposite side listen to Donald Fagen's I.G.Y: On that train all graphite and glitter Undersea by rail Ninety minutes from new york to paris (more leisure for artists everywhere) A just machine to make big decisions Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision We'll be clean when their work is done We'll be eternally free yes and eternally young What a beautiful world this will be What a glorious time to be free 2 amazing songs! Liars is one of my top ten album ever and The Nightfly too ! Amazing video !!!! Amazing work Cordt !!!
What a masterful video compilation for this song +cordt1. Your work is magnificent and this particular one never fails to cause me to choke up a bit as these were the ideals we shared as kids in the day. Todd is still the ever changing future and is an eternal optimist.
i too remember the world of tomorrow - my trip on this planet started 364 days before todd's - back in the twentieth century the comedy act 'firesign theatre' said - THIS is the future - you got to LIVE it, or LIVE WITH IT - and now i realize there is a third inevitability - at a time to be determined, get out of the way - may peace be with us all
I'm only 48, but I remember the world of tomorrow too. Now we're going backward. Women eschew science, supersonic airplanes are only for the military, every Mac peripheral costs $30 or more, and our new interstate bridge is going to be an ugly affair devoid of architectural interest. The things that have gotten better are world cuisine, beer, and open source everything. Your video is exactly what I envisioned for this song. Well done! BTW, my mom had gold lamé pants and wore them well.
Also, note the X-15 belly launch from a B-52 on the first part of the video. Amazing! Neil Armstrong was one of the pilots around 1964. Just some trivia for all you "Astronuts" out there.
Todd Rundgren is nominated for the 2021 R&R Hall Of Fame for the 3rd year in a row. Let's FINALLY get him in! Search "Rock Hall Fan Vote" and vote with several emails.
私が生まれたのは1960年。未来はこの様になると、1970年頃は皆が思っていた。皆に夢があった。Thank U。 I was born in 1960. When the future became this appearance, everybody considered around 1970. Everybody had a dream.
Wonderful, simple, rhythmic like the song. Great editing, in both choices and their timings! Congrats, Cordt. Really great video! The song pulses true-to-form in Todd's own powerful, cosmic, love vibe space. Like it's always been there. Thanks for another killer song, TR!
I have watched this several times now and forgot to ever throw some praise your way. Very cleaverly done and I hope Todd would throw some praise your way. Superbly done!
Because he didn't play the industry game. He did things his way so they didn't make as much money off him. It's all about how rich the rich people make off musicians.
If it makes you feel better he didn't wAnt it. When asked he said "if nominated I will not run, and if elected I will not serve!" Diehard Todd fans know that he has not nor ever will kiss the ring of the industry and he has written many songs on that very subject, including on the Liars album! I'm so happy he got nominated though.
That's what's so ironic: major expositions, such as World's Fairs and Expos, used to provide showcases for innovative technology, research, and product development - whetting the appetites of consumers and giving them things to look forward to acquiring; whereas, nowadays, they just take for granted - as 'necessities' - those products that, until relatively recently, would have been regarded as extravagant! It's not the corporations: it's the consumers. Simply put: they're spoiled!
Here's proof that doves will play synthesizers in the future. Seriously...thanks for the fine video! What happened to the future, anyway? Coincidentally, lately, I've been thinking about, and missing, the World's Fairs and Expos...!
...I remember making a "speaker phone" call with Mom and Dad saying no phone lines or poles outside! And my Uncle replying they are underground stupid!
"I remember", when Alternative fuel sources was a good Idea! Ethanol,Natural Gas,Electricity,Hydrogen,Biodiesel,Methanol, P- series fuels ,Unumpentium -115 ---- ---
The Future was supposed to be so cool, so right....what did we get? Comrade Hilary, Trump the Chump, and even more teenie-bopper toys on our phones. Even so, Lord, come quickly....
Hey, 'gypto, no one but me understood your 'Para-physical', 'Crypto-Terrestrial/Ultra-Terrestrial', 'Super Natural' reference. I'm hip to Fort, Valleé, Keel, Constable et al. too!
Released in 2004, if I'm not mistaken...13 years ago! Now, when it was actually written I don't know, but my guess is: not much earlier than the aforementioned date.
Very interesting. Instead of a vision of a future; we have 'the future' every year at the CES in Vegas. Now if you want a slice of the future it'll cost you a week's paycheck and be obsolete in 12-18 months. No more interest in 500km/h bullet trains, just give ME my 4x4 SUV so I can sit in traffic with millions like me. Mad.
Awesome. I'm from London and I love how his music was way ahead of time! Im only 28 and feel kinda lucky that I stumbled across him whilst weeding through prog rock alternative hip hop frank zappa and then boom... Todd Rundgren! What a legend!
@ninjastah. Think you might dig Steely Dan if you have not already discovered them, like your Todd and Frank Z discoveries...
I just had to watch this again..I can never get enough of Todd's music. It's been like a soundtrack for my life.
That is one of the best videos I've ever seen as far as matching to a song. Great job!
Yes ! I have fond memories of going to The Worlds Fair in 1964 in NYC ( Queens?) , with my family when I was four ! Love this song ! Got the album it’s from, & saw Todd in concert, back in 2004 when it came out ! Great video ! Thank you !

this song will still be the future 50 years from now!
Awesome. Thank you that I can pull this up!!! The Future IS NOW!
The future is now!
One of the most imaginative talents in Music - TR
Thanks for all the wonderful insights into our past from the new york world's fair and beyond
Another outstanding song by Todd - the CD this comes from is UNBELIEVABLE. I listen to it every day. thanks
Fabulous video! I was mesmerized from beginning to end. If Todd saw this I bet he'd love it.
excellent video, gorgeous visuals that seem entirely in sync with the song. thanks!
Amazing song of Todd with a realistic and bitter view of the future. On the opposite side listen to Donald Fagen's I.G.Y:
On that train all graphite and glitter

2 amazing songs!
Liars is one of my top ten album ever and The Nightfly too !
Amazing video !!!! Amazing work Cordt !!!
There'll be spandex jackets, one for everyone!
Two clever chaps...Don and Todd...
my fave lp of the 00's....for real.....such a rewarding record...lyrically deep, amazing vocals....
What a masterful video compilation for this song +cordt1. Your work is magnificent and this particular one never fails to cause me to choke up a bit as these were the ideals we shared as kids in the day. Todd is still the ever changing future and is an eternal optimist.
Truly Futuristic! Streamlined! Awesome! Todd!
Beautiful video! Thank you for creating this and sharing it. This song is perfect.
I really appreciate the video you created for this superb piece of work. It fits perfectly! As always, LOVETHATTODD!
In love with this release since it came out. THANKS! for the sweet vid!
Great song by Todd from his great album Liars and cool vid by you. Thanks.
Just saw this. The video really captures the intent of Todd's song. A brilliant artist, and Liars, a great CD.
The best album made in the 21st century is Todd Rundgren's "Liars".
Brilliant. Thank you.
Like the beat....... snapping fingers.👏👏👏🎶🎶🎶🎶❤
i too remember the world of tomorrow - my trip on this planet started 364 days before todd's - back in the twentieth century the comedy act 'firesign theatre' said - THIS is the future - you got to LIVE it, or LIVE WITH IT - and now i realize there is a third inevitability - at a time to be determined, get out of the way - may peace be with us all
Great job! We're the same age...I also went when I was nine, and again in '65. Absolutely loved it and looked forward to that same future. Big TR fan.
His new song "Espionage" reminds me of this.
simply sublime lets have some more please
This song , and the whole album for that matter changed me…
Very cool. Hypnotic Todd.
I'm only 48, but I remember the world of tomorrow too. Now we're going backward. Well , it's certainly about time , huh ?
What a great video! Thanks cordt1 for this great effort!
"The future ain't what it used to be." - Yogi Berra
私が生まれたのは1960年。未来はこの様になると、1970年頃は皆が思っていた。皆に夢があった。Thank U。
I was born in 1960.
When the future became this appearance, everybody considered around 1970.
Everybody had a dream.
Loved the video you created for this song.
EXCELLENT. This is the music video that should have been produced.
Great song from an awesome record, probably Todd's best ever album.
He was making a reference to a Utopia song out in '82.
JackMcQuack,
Which song ?
excellent video accompaniment!
Great Todd song , with a great video , attached ! Very impressive display , cordt1 !! Thanks for sharing your work . {*_*}
I have watched this several times now and forgot to ever throw some praise your way.
Very cleaverly done and I hope Todd would throw some praise your way.
Superbly done!
Truly...the wizard & true star...I can't help but love any of his work,...
The name of the cd is called Liars. Excellent.
Boy, you sure did a Todd song justice...AWESOME!!
Todd, the musical mad world scientist!! haha!
the wizard
love your video to this
SO utterly out there......................
just brilliant!
Sounds like drum 'n' bass!!
Wow ... I just love this video you created -- it fits this song perfectly!
Great 1st video, Cordt. As a big fan of both Todd Rundgren AND World's Fairs, I give you a big thumbs UP! How about doing one to Healing next? :)
Allways listen Todd Rundgren
why isn't Todd in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .. DAMMIT
Because he didn't play the industry game. He did things his way so they didn't make as much money off him. It's all about how rich the rich people make off musicians.
Ain't no backslapping required for Todd
the way i see it todd's credibility is not diminished by the r&r hall of fame omission - it is the r&r hall of fame that loses some of its shine
He has stated that he doesn't care about it ..though I think that the fans would like to see him acknowledged
@KOSMICKEN09 I totally agree! Still play it all the time. Todd is brilliant!!!
Marvelous vidéo, marvalous song!
Amazing tune from Todd
Great work cordt!
I was there also!
And, as many of you know, ALL sound, vocal of any type, ALL instrument is, of course ALL Todd..................
Soooooooo COOL!
This is a very well-done video and I know Todd would have approved it for his "Future" song from "Liars" cd.
Liars is such a great lp
Truth...
The swing came at both right and left. Now, neither side has a vision beyond expanding markets for disposable goods.
This song gets me back when inovation was commonplace, in early-to-mid 20th century. Much of today's work is a revamp or direct remake of this time.
A reboot
check out FERNANDO PERDOMO's new album a tribute to TODD . TRGTR..
He's great !
Simply put: they're spoiled!
awesome..todd is the man
"Opinions all provided the future pre-decided."
Here's proof that doves will play synthesizers in the future.
Seriously...thanks for the fine video!
What happened to the future, anyway? Coincidentally, lately, I've been thinking about, and missing, the World's Fairs and Expos...!
@umpfco yeah great job cordt!!!
This whole cd is excellent. Track 3 I could live without. Liars is great though.
That's just the way it's got to be HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Can't Forget...The Future...
Genius video. From what video are the clips taken? Superb!
I can kinda see your point, but the counterpoint for this song might be that "The future.....is now"!
...I remember making a "speaker phone" call with Mom and Dad saying no phone lines or poles outside! And my Uncle replying they are underground stupid!
Liars is an amazing and profound album. Todd is Godd
Gig of the year for me... 2004 in London...
Cool its Todd
It's from Todd's 2004 release, Liars.
Groovy
"I remember", when Alternative fuel sources was a good Idea! Ethanol,Natural Gas,Electricity,Hydrogen,Biodiesel,Methanol, P- series fuels ,Unumpentium -115 ---- ---
oh yea !!!...but do they come with a flux capacitor ?
yea...where do we get those again ?
Any radical swings to the right or to the left throw us off course to a Brighhter Tomorrow.
Best Lp Yet, Global
I'm supposed to live in the future in the world of tomorrow
The Future was supposed to be so cool, so right....what did we get? Comrade Hilary, Trump the Chump, and even more teenie-bopper toys on our phones. Even so, Lord, come quickly....
Give me real righteous psychic/hyperdimensional powers so that I can fly/warp through the ether better than an Ultraterrestrial Heat Critter
Hey, 'gypto, no one but me understood your 'Para-physical', 'Crypto-Terrestrial/Ultra-Terrestrial', 'Super Natural' reference. I'm hip to Fort, Valleé, Keel, Constable et al. too!
@cordt1
because the alternative is unacceptable?
when was this song made??
Released in 2004, if I'm not mistaken...13 years ago! Now, when it was actually written I don't know, but my guess is: not much earlier than the aforementioned date.
TODDISGODD.
What cd is this on?
'Liars'
Spacely Sprockets makes them I think....
I would choose living in the present.
I choose The Matrix.
outta site!
Todd - liars= so great
@haleohualil Without a doubt !!
