- "Thank you for building our dream property" was an incredible thing to hear from the new owners of this property.
At the end of 2016, we bought a property with just under 3 acres of land with the intent of regenerating the land into a more natural, native state and using some permaculture practices to turn it into a food forest. Over 5 years, we had brought in loads of mulch, stumps, leaf and other compost material, spread wildflower seeds, planted hundreds of herbs, native trees and fruit trees.
Join us on a full tour of the property. We had sold this property at the end of 2021 after 5 years of living here. It was sad to leave but we had built a new farmstead for the next family to enjoy.
From Year 1 to Year 5, it was a blessing to experience nature taking back over and to see the fruit of our labor. We had a noticeable burst in wildlife - from squirrels, deer and rabbits, to the different species of fungus, new bird and insect varieties emerging and populations began to increase in numbers. This was our very first property - lots of trial and error but we were pleased with the progress and growth.
We had been living in an environment where the climate only allows for about 3 months of warm weather - Zone 5b - not a long growing season. It was time for us to find a property somewhere south where we could grow food year-round.
We hope this video provides you with a lot of knowledge for you to start your own food forest and inspires you to reconnect with nature and grow your own food.

Thanks for posting, cool to learn more about the history of the property. Things have grown a lot since then, and we've been planting more. August begins peach season!
Some trees have died, some are growing quite quickly in these 3 years. Lots of ups and downs in the process, but every year it's exciting to see what starts fruiting.
@@kyleperik9087 no problem, awesome to hear from you! Glad you are excited about it & continuing the love there 🙏 enjoy the peaches :)
Great video Just Juice Daily! Loving those drone shots seeing the bird eye view. Whata cool property! Enjoyed the editing too. New subscriber here! Keep it up 👍
@@flodask8ing21 Appreciate it my friend 🤙🏽 bringing back the birds & the bees. Will do 🍒🙌
Just take into account that walnut trees could be poisonous with their rootsystem to other trees
@@wipje41 you are 100% right, thank you for bringing that up 👍🏼We were taking a chance, hoped that we planted stuff far enough away.
