Congrats my friend, ya polished another old turd for the grass rats , I appreciate all your time and energy put forth to do that It just shows the respect you have for the old equipment, the history is the best part along with trying to relive the past! Keep up the good work ! Ty
Thank you for the kind words. I really do have a love and admiration for the old equipment and definitely the stories they tell. Thank you for watching. God bless.
Mr splash ventures thank you. I told her there were some folks on here wishing her a happy bday. Its a very nice old mower and I think someone took some care of its maintenance not long ago. If it had sat any time at all it probably wouldn't have fired up so easily. Thank you so much for watching. God bless
Happy Father's Day and God bless you too, Greg! I love John Deere mowers, too. That green paint really gives these an Irish feel (along with the Lawn-Boys)!
Classictvman I've never thought of it like that but I can see it now. That's an interesting perspective on it. Happy Father's Day to you as well and God bless
I added fresh fuel on top of the slightly varnished fuel that was in the tank. It certainly is a great running older mower. Thank you so much for watching. God bless
Dfields, thank you and to you as well. You know it didn't dawn on me until I just read your comment but it does bear quite a resemblance to a snapper deck. I'll bet it would be pretty good in tall grass I might have to find some and run it through it. Thank you so much for watching. God bless
The last few mowers I've had over the course of 20 plus years all have been briggs and stratton motors except one and the briggs motors were by far the best and in fact I got a toro mower with a briggs that was so badly neglected that's over 25 years old close to 30 and I brought it back to life 13 years ago and it's still running and starts on first pull every time. I once got a snapper mower with the same engine as this one in the video and it was in bad shape as well and I brought it back to life it was hard starting but once I got it running it ran great.
Brett, Briggs and Stratton are definitely my favorite small engines as well. They really were built to last and take tons of abuse without throwing a rod like a Tecumseh. I have a video on the channel of a snapper just like your talking about. You should check it out. Thank you for watching. God bless.
Steve, I thank you for the concern and I understand. I don't own a blade balancer. I know most high end professional shops own machines to sharpen and balancers as well. I don't. The old guy who taught me how to do this ran a repair shop that specialized in commercial lawn care repair and maintenance. He explained it to me like this. As long as you remove equal amounts or take equal passes from each side you shouldn't be far enough out to cause a vibration. It mowed excellent with no excessive vibration at all. If it's out of balance it's only a miniscule amount. This mower isn't going to be sold to some stranger ill. Be using it and most likely it'll go to one of my family members for awhile who will probably hit something with it and ding and bend the blade anyways. Thank you for your concern and for watching and commenting. God bless you.
@@gregsmowersandmore5878 You can use a nail in Tell that way also can you put a nail in the corner someplace and please the blade on the nail and it will show a high spot
Sam, right now I'm not wanting to sell it. I plan on keeping it around a little while. I've sold similar vintage mowers for around 100 to 120 dollars. Thank you for watching. God bless
Veb lol he's very loud and can be quite annoying. As far a guard rooster your absolutely right. He attacks everyone lol 🤣 my neighbor was working on a car in his driveway one day and fraggle got out and went over and attacked my neighbors butt lol 🤣 he's small but tough. Thank you for watching God bless
Thank you Tim. Happy Father's Day to you as well. Mine has been wonderful so far. I took my daughter and my uncle out fishing this morning before it got too hot. God bless you.

they don't make them like they use to , happy father's day. that looks like it would be a great in high grass like snappers mowers are.
