Agreed it’s hard to look at. I would argue that life is incredibly harsh for every species. We avoid seeing it but death is constantly happening. That same coyote has gleefully hunted and killed hundreds of mice and rabbits. Perhaps the occasional chicken.
Coyotes whelp several pups at a time. I live in the country, and they have no predators. 20 years ago, I had a lot of wildlife to watch from my porch. Not anymore. No rabbits, deer, or foxes. Many people have had their pets killed. I don't believe the paw traps or anything that would torture any living creature. County Animal Control has live traps set up. Once the door is sprung, an officer comes out & replaces the live trap, and takes the coyote to animal control. I have never asked about the animal's fate. I have seen so many of my friends pets killed and mangled. I have a large dog that is an indoor pet. She goes out, does her business, and comes back in. My dog is only outside from dusk to dawn if she is with an adult family member.
Like I said. Drive it out to an isolated place where they can hunt and live as a wild animal should be. We have invaded their hunting grounds. The same happened to wolves in Yellowstone. They were almost extinct. They brought them back because it affected to natural balance. Move the coyote out to areas where they have enough to feed and not stay where people have easy prey such as pets, people, and small amount of wildlife. The destruction of the species will throw the balance off. 😟
@@jdmac1475 Guy, I can appreciate the sentiment, but you don’t really understand the nature of coyotes. Read a few books, an interesting one would be Coyote America. You couldn’t drive them far enough in any direction to not be someone else’s problem. Look up the different forms of management, it varies from state to state. I can assure you, the 5 minutes you thought about this subject from watching a video pales in comparison to years and years of research put together by people who understand and make it their life’s work.

You're fighting a losing battle, just keep a few livestock guardian dogs with your herd, instead. Coyotes are opportunistic feeders, they'll look for food elsewhere Add: the way he handles that coyote is pretty badass. I think they're beautiful animals, but I'm scared of them.

@@janebradley9364 I get that too. I raised chickens and turkeys in the land of predators, 11,000 wolves, 50,000 bears, a myriad of raptors, foxes, lynxes & the list goes on and even includes coyotes. I never lost a single animal, nor did I have to kill to keep them safe. My animals were my livelihood too. Withstanding that, I’d recommend you give it a second thought. Because there’s a scenario that would help you and it doesn’t require killing coyotes. I’m happy to explain the how to you. Consider some facts; -they hunt solitarily or with one other. -they will leave places in their territory and never return if they don’t find food OR if the food is too hard to get at. -they will defend their territory, especially if their home range is invaded by other coyotes. In other words, protect your flock/herd from coyotes (but let them live), they won’t come back and they’ll even inadvertently protect your property & animals from other coyotes. The most effective thing you can do is catch them in a live cage and release them at your property’s edge. Fire a couple shots into the ground behind them. The whole argument that “…my animals are my livelihood” doesn’t hold much weight. It’s been used before and due to it bears (black and brown), are rare to see, a herd of bison that was once a million was reduced to 15 to 20,000. Wolves were wiped out completely. You what’s ironic about that? It used to be the wolves that kept the coyotes in check. Meh, who are we kidding, we both know you won’t change even when offered a different and non-lethal option. Agreed it’s hard to look at. I would argue that life is incredibly harsh for every species. We avoid seeing it but death is constantly happening. That same coyote has gleefully hunted and killed hundreds of mice and rabbits. Perhaps the occasional chicken.
Everyone pissed doesn't know this was the turn-around point in it's life. He's successful and has a family now
Coyotes whelp several pups at a time.
Don’t be stupid. It would have been just as easy to put it in a cage and drive it away from the farm or town. 😢
@@jdmac1475 yeah, make it some else’s problem. He can eat the neighbor’s dog instead.
Look at literature concerning US wildlife conservation, there are people out there dedicated to understanding healthy populations of wildlife, especially predators, and what the landscape would look like if they aren’t managed. Look up the different forms of management, it varies from state to state. I can assure you, the 5 minutes you thought about this subject from watching a video pales in comparison to years and years of research put together by people who understand and make it their life’s work.
I like the way the trapper held coyote and removed trap with his feet and did not even get bit. Good job!
I hope you come back in the next life and this shit happens to you. Some big ho grabbing you by the neck and ripping you up as he tries (and fails) to remove the trap right away. All while your leg is twisted and mangled from 3 days of being trapped

Most wild and domestic animals who are born in a liter also have this weakness of going dormant when being lifted by the scruff of the neck.
Consider some facts;
-they hunt solitarily or with one other.
And this is why we’re top predators
“Coyotes are the number one predator of calves in the U.S.,” says Mike Bodenchuk, state director for the Wildlife Services program in Texas. “It's not an enormous problem for the industry, but it is a financial problem. About half of all cattle predation losses are from coyotes.” If he’s on private land, that’s one thing. If that’s BLM land, he should be required to tolerate the wildlife.
