    Should Middlesbrough sign George Edmundson permanently? Comment below!

    Recalling the player so close to a match in which he would have played in is highly unprofessional on Ipswich's part and is only going to strain the relationship between the 2 clubs going forward. Ipswich have seemingly p*ssed off both Boro and Edmondson in one go.

      100 per cent. Kieran Scott's Norwich links coming back to bite him?!

      @@BonkersForBoro i think there's more to it than that, they did loan him to us initially and Scott's Norwich links didn't bother them then. Maybe this goes back to their Latte Lath bid.

    With our track record for injuries I’d sign him . He’s now a known player it’s a no brainer.

    Surely smith and Lennhan will be binned so 1million or or would be a good buy for Middlesbrough

      If they can get fit, I personally think they both still have something to offer but would understand if they moved on.

      We are not a register charity : if they are back in for next season they will be one more injury away from retirement : we’ve done this before over the years and need to learn : keep pushing forward with some older players but not these 2

    Hopefully things work out for the Fridge.

      Would you have him back?

      @philspencerfootball yeah he's reasonably solid most the time.

      We looked solid last night. Fry in particular has been excellent since his return. Clarke is more than an adequate replacement and presumably at some point even if it’s next season Lenihan will be back. The money could be better used in other areas.

    Ipswich can’t stand the thought of Middlesbrough getting him for a cut price and it’s quite clever by boro. They obviously know that no other team will bid for him as he can’t play for anyway else. Ipswich have fucked up and punished the player as a consequence

      Kieran Scott is no mug and so I have full confidence that he'll do what's best for Boro. (I haven't always had the same level of trust in our recruitment by any means!)

    If George wanted to move he could start making some noise about it. He could have been promised some playing time in the Prem, I guess we don't really know either way.

    • @BonkersForBoro
      @BonkersForBoro  18 днів тому +1

      True, but he doesn't' seem like the sort of player to create drama.

  • @jeffreywood465

    He has done well, but why did Boro want to sign him now, we can get him free at the end of the season, surely Clark is what is needed for his battleing qualities

    • @BonkersForBoro
      @BonkersForBoro  18 днів тому

      This is the thing. Ipswich aren't in that strong a position. Boro could say to Edmundson they'll sign him for free in the summer and put a big signing on fee directly in his pocket!

      Ipswich were probably already hinting they were going to recall him in January trying to force boro's hand.

    Ipswich sulking over lathe. They wanted him can’t get him now won’t pay the amount boro have asked for. Now they took there player back. Let him rot at Ipswich Plenty of other CB out there & he’s got a turning circle of a fridge freezer So. Stuff Ipswich ,They getting relegated anyway soon be back in the championship 😂

      That's a point though - would they want to tie him down to a new deal in case they go down?

    Ipswich trying to play hard ball, but failing, will be funny if they come back cap in hand zsthey cannot sell him anywhere else😅.

      If I was a betting man I expect he'll be back at Middlesbrough before the end of the window.

    Ipswich have thrown their toys out the pram we should play hardball and not pay inflated prices, like we have in the past.

    • @BonkersForBoro
      @BonkersForBoro  18 днів тому

      Definitely. He's a 27-year-old good Championship-level defender who is available for nothing in 5 months. I'd like us to sign him, but it'd be foolish to pay over the odds.

    Also no ppint in kerping ben doak if latte leaves & we cant replace him with a instant impact striker! We keep latte we win the play offs! Its about reaching the prem league

    • @BonkersForBoro
      @BonkersForBoro  18 днів тому +1

      It's a really good point about Latte Lath. We NEED to replace him with someone who can hit the ground running - we can't afford to risk someone who won't come good until next season.

    • @jpwartist
      @jpwartist 18 днів тому

      Conway has a better goals to minutes ratio than Latte Lath

    • @chrisandrews9300
      @chrisandrews9300 18 днів тому

      @jpwartist true but latte is fitter rarely gets injured plays more games. We need both strikers if we are to try & win play offs.

  • @chrisandrews9300
    @chrisandrews9300 18 днів тому

    I dont think we need to sign him we got enough cover in central defence. On a free yea or 500,000 max yea. But depends if we can win thecplay offs or not if we finish top 6.

    • @BonkersForBoro
      @BonkersForBoro  18 днів тому

      I agree with this. Fry, VDB and Clarke are good options. Meanwhile we have Luke Ayling who can play there in a pinch!
