Thanks, seems I need to go back again and again to what I know but like all golfers manage my game so going to this drill gets my foundation back and I can progress fixing the other things that pop up, got to love this game.
I started doing this drill and im hitting the ball more consistently with about the same distance while actually doing the drill with the long pause at the top. Im going to try to use it while I play in competition if this keeps up although people will think its odd
Hi Jonathan, great drill for me as someone who gets tense when under pressure and starts down before I’ve even completed my backswing. My question is, how would you advise on how to start implementing this into your full swing when practicing? For instance I can do the drill, but find when I get back to my normal swing my tendency to not complete my backswing and get out of sequence comes back. Interested to hear your thoughts !
Great drill, and as you say; useful for a lot of purposes. Victor Hovland even used it in competitions for some time. If I remember correctly, his coach at Oklahoma State gave it to him to improve sequencing. Not that easy to pause at the top though. Thank you for this! 😀👍
Exaclly my issue my lower body was firing wayyyyy too early i had to do this drill for so long to get my sequencing back to normal i had to have a feel of my hands and arms going first before my body because it was that bad 🤣🤣 great drill this really helpfull

It was also one that Couples used a lot.
Do think if you turn your body that limits/reduces shoulder stretch?
After the new mat at 10k subs. How about taking the slabs up, would look miles better. 😀great lessons I continue to watch.
Great drill, I was a resident of pull hook city with my over the top swing 😂😂
Sometimes, I picture myself imitating Cameron Young at the top, and flushing it (although I think in reality, it doesn't look like I was pausing).
