      these movements seem a lot more surgical and based in actual bodily findings they're calling landmarks. idk how effective/practical these manipulation techniques are in the long-term though

      Absolutely not. DOs are physicians who are found in every medical specialty. Depending on our specialty, we prescribe meds, deliver babies, perform surgery, and yes, even use these techniques when appropriate. The video is simply highlighting a unique element of osteopathic training. Some DOs, like my colleagues and I in the video, happen to use OMT regularly, while others may not.
