Just purchased a set of these and absolutely love them! Still learning the settings, so totally appreciate your experience with them and will certainly give this a try. :)
@@marianokapla6652 my apologies, just seeing your message. Absolutely fantastic! We get so many compliments on the sound, be it playing a wedding reception, karaoke or large outside events . I have had two other dj friends going to the Ev50 because they were also impressed with them. These speakers get used regularly being moved from my shed to suv to venue almost every weekend, they have held up extremely well.
You shouldn't be turning your INPUT volume past 0 unless you are plugging a microphone into it (past zero is MIC LEVEL OUT, not LINE LEVEL). Your master volume is there for exactly what you need. You can turn that up to 10 and it won't do any damage. It all has to do with where your DJ mixer gain goes and when you start limiting the speaker.
Hey Brian, i have 4 of these that i use as often as i can. I am not a professional DJ but i am an audiophile. In all my years, i have never heard anything sounding better. I actually leave everything at “0” except the sub which i crank to “2”. I am planning on getting a sub and I wonder if you have any suggestion….. the ekx18 sp is too big and i don’t like the bass but i was wondering if you would consider a 12” Sub
Hey Brian, I have been spending a lot of time on researching line arrays. I am trying to scale down from my K12.2 and 181s to a more portable back friendly system. I do Dj a bar which hold up to 150 people in a small space. But would like something that will cover the spectrum of events from weddings to corporate parties. I have seen the Evolve 50 and they seem to stand out. But was curious on why the LD Curv 500 TS did not take off. I see it has a 15in Sub so punchy bass should not be an issue and the pole extends to put the sound over the crowd while washing them as well. Is there an issue with LD that pushes people away from it? Just curious on your take. Thank You for all you do..
Man I was wondering the exact thing. Was ready to pull the trigger on that LD Curve sight unseen .. Dont think they market it the US as much as they do the Maui series 😢
Thank You I just reset and fixed all settings. Ready for my New Years party I was using music mode prior ! Was getting microphone feedback and realized I had the gain on my Shure Glx-D set at + 18 gain also and changed that to 0 dB gain ! I hope that works !
Brian, Do I use the main speaker inputs on the mixing board from the EV Towner . It seems I would plug all inputs into the board and run main speaker output to the tower.
I love my Evolve 50 but the Bluetooth reach on my unit is horrible. I think I have about 25 feet with any devise connected and it starts to cut out or break up. Is this normal?
Great video as usual mate! Question. Is it possible to have a video talking aboit the entire pipeline? And its levels? From.computer settkngs to mixer to external mixers to speakers? I set my eeeeeveerything at zero and it distorts, i hope you can shine some light on what i am doing wrong. Anyways. Thanks for the vid, very informational and educational as usual
@@briansredd from serato i have my audio at 89db, then the tracks on the cpu i play at zero. Then it goes to my s9, from there to my mackie mixer, to my k12.2 speakers.
@@briansredd i use an external mixer because i have 3 microphones plugged in. But it does send a distorted loud signal to the speakers. If i bypass the external mixer, i dont get distortion and it is something that has happened with many mixers.
For a little more money, get the Bose F1 system. A set of Evolve 50s is $3000 equaling 2000 watts total. A set of Bose F1's is $4000 equaling 4000 watts total. Twice the power and can definitely cover 400 to 600 people. I own 4 Bose F1 systems. It's the lightest loudest portable line array system you can buy. Why pay 3k for 2k watts. Bose it's 4k for 4k watts. Way better value!
Yes you can, but why? I tried a mixer just to get reverb but figured out the phantom settings do that. Mixer is gone! Also may give more outputs for mics but I bought a 4 mic cordless and it works great. So I get total of 5 mics - great for some karaoke venues.
Damn I can’t wait to try these settings. I have been struggling with the volume and sub being too much for most rooms I play. Thank you!
Same issue!

How’s the evolve 50s going?

Think we will try this. Thanks for sharing. Practicing and enjoying
I’ve never really tried live, I’m gonna try your settings :)
Thanks so much Brian…very helpful. Question: I have two speakers…how do I connect them both to my mixer?
I'm going to try those settings at my gig tomorrow. Thanks.

Those are nice, I use the rcf cause they go inside each other and have more bass response. All fun stuff though

Hey Brian. I'm not getting much level from my mix out when hooking into a venues system. Is the a way of bumping it up a bit? Cheers

This may depend on what equipment you are running & how you are running it. I can try to help, but I'll need a break-down first with details

Hmmm🤔
Hi,
I have a pair of Evolve 50 I want to ask you if I can use QSC KS212C Sub with Evolve 50.
Thanks
of course you can..as many DJs due..meaning use an extra sub. controller/mixer out to sub, then connect EV 50's to the back of the sub..
Can you use a mixer with the evolve 50 and how to setup

Do you ever see the 50m limiting before the regular 50?
