i learned so much from this as a gunlance user man. from the midair use of hail cutter after a blast dash to reposition AND reload to making use of a REVERSE reverse dash and even erupting cannon as a dps loop. excellent performance. i salute you.
Once you've practiced it plenty it becomes very consistent. (on 60fps) RBD has 37 i-frames with shelling and 60 when you have none, and it has a period of super-armor after the i-frames so even if you miss the evasion timing you can sometimes still tank a hit. I did the latter in this run to trigger Adrenaline whilst being able to continue attacking. If you're not using adrenaline and/or dereliction you can also utilize Redirection lv2 for a "counter" which is a great backup evasive option for when you don't have wirebugs for RBD. : )
@@gnaryamanobe thanks for the reply! Another question, when augmenting armour is it more efficient to use the standard “augment” or “augment skills +” to optimise a build??
@@theprinceeso1538 Currently Skills+ augmenting takes priority until you get the skill you want from the augmentation. So for example, you might be using Risen Valstrax Legs which have Stun Res on them, so you deliberately Augment Skills+ on those Legs intending to remove the stun resistance and add in another skill that's more useful for Gunlance gameplay, such as Wind Mantle. Though bare in mind there are two new augmentation methods coming in TU5, one of which is likely to be Slots+ which will change how you augment your sets. : )

@@theprinceeso1538 Priority in augmenting for GL builds is generally going to vary based on which specific GL you are using and which monster you are hunting. However, there are some skills which can be prioritized to get into the set before considering either of those factors, the rest can be worked out from there onwards (for example, if you're using Gold Rathian GL you have base 10% affinity so you can either go Crit Eye lv4 with bloodlust + WEX lv3 or Crit Eye lv7 + WEX lv3 for 100% affinity on weakspots.) Hey. I could have done what you said and used Groundsplitter on the other scroll to increase shelling damage. There's not much to my decision not to other than the convivence of not having to remember which scroll I'm in to ensure I do the correct silkbind attack I wanted to.
In the beginning, you flashbombed him and then rocketlaunched into him with your gunlance. How do you launch so quickly? When I press and hold B, it takes ages until I launch forward.
I turn away and input guard, as that is the fastest way to unsheathe GL, and then input reverse blast which is a silkbind exclusive to Sunbreak. If you're playing on Playstation or Xbox in base Rise, that would be why you haven't been able to do it. : )
Thanks! Blast dash, Quick Reload, Erupting Cannon, Hail Cutter, and Reverse Blast. You can use Long as well, check out Ryo's run on this monster with a Long GL: ua-cam.com/video/SLCg74wFleU/v-deo.html Normal is more damage from shells per full burst than Long, but Long's Wyvern Fire does more damage than normal's. Hope this helps!

This is such an incredibly sick way to play gunlance using hail cutter, I'm so glad that move is good now.
Beautiful run, loved gunlance since 3U. The way you make it look so mobile is awesome
I am Teostra, husband of Lunastra. And I have never known how to kill this hunter
Teddy gets no respect!! That was savage
actually insane
You made me want to play Gunlance again , The weapon seems way funnier in sunbreak
Amazing gameplay gg , (nice dodge at 2:36)
Masterfully done
FML that was incredible.
It's $500/copium cylinder. Will be sending in my bill for the 69 you ordered
That augment luck is insane.
It's stated even on description, he used a mod for the tali and agument rolls
I'll never be this fluid with the gunlance. Spoiled by being a shield hbg main me thinks. :(
how do I do that Wyvern Fire to Blast Dash in 2:26 I'm trying to do it myself but I can't
Wyvern fire > Reverse Blast. No Blast Dash
are you using RBD to Iframe hitboxes? how consistent/reliable is that??
epic run

Just out of curiosity, why don’t you switch skill swap and use ground splitter at the beginning for extra damage?

what made the mh fall again on 0:58? the dogs?
Yeah, dogs did the last bit of damage I needed to trigger the risen topple.
I have a question, how is it possible to quick reload in mid air??
Hi, using the Hailcutter silkbind reloads shells while in the air.
How do you got that talisman?

great run! what switch skills are you using? and can you use a long gunlance for this type of play or is normal the best way to go?
Thanks!

How are you charging rocket boost so fast?
"Blast Dash", it's a switch skill included as part of MH Rise.
good cope
