Several years ago I had reservations at Port Orleans in a standard room with my daughter and a friend. Our friend couldn't make it so I took my mother who was dealing with very serious health issues. At check-in I informed the cast member of our situation. I was told no problem. We were given a room change and walked into this beauty. I still cry thinking about how excited my Mom was when she saw the room. A memory I will always cherish! When we went down for dinner we received a "pixie dust". Dinner was paid for. Disney delivers so very often!!
I have cassette tapes of myself waking up at Port Orleans Riverside Resort in 1996 on my 1st Birthday. And 26 years later this has been the only resort I stay at every time I go to Disney World.
Ed! In the fishing hole. He's been there for 25 plus years. He's a disney legend (in my opinion), because he's brought more smiles to kiddos faces with the fishing.
Quincy had a fancy experience at this one! I love these resort tour videos, and this one is no exception. I’ve heard about this resort just by doing research on the parks, but I knew nothing about it. The property is GORGEOUS and I love the theming of this resort. Keep the awesome videos coming
We checked in to the same type of room on Nov. 7th until the 13th. Wonderful room and amazing resort. I left feeling so relaxed and refreshed. I would go for 2 mile walks around the resort before heading out to the parks. And the boat ride back from Disney Springs with a cup of hot chocolate was great. We were ground floor and corner room. This was my first vacation in 9 years and I had a wonderful time.
Those funny looking fans in the lobby represent the fans that were used wayyy back in the days. Mansions didn't have AC, so what they would do is use ice and have those fans circulate the cold air around. For example, during dinner, they would place a huge chuck of ice on the middle of the table under that fan and help cool everyone around.
2:42 that fan is actually called a punka. It’s modeled after the ones in plantation houses in the early 1900s. Historically a rope would be attached to it with someone pulling the ropes to swim it back and forth. We saw one when we toured a plantation in Nola! It was pretty cool.
I'm really becoming a big fan of Riverside!!! We stayed there on our last two visits and I'd definitely like to stay there on our next vacation!!! Great stuff as always 👍 keep up the great work 👍
Thank you Quincy, you brought back our memories from staying at Port Orleans Riverside in Feb 2020. We loved staying there in the Alligator Bayou area. It can get real busy there in the food court area. My son wants to go back, like NOW! :))
Oh no you got the furthest building! We were in Oak Manor Royal room. Loved the rooms, and I played with that headboard every day! Beautiful resort, even when full it never feels it. So relaxing. Glad to see they haven’t switched out for those stupid glass fridges.
This is where we would always stay when we visited, love it!!!!❤️❤️ now we live in Orlando , but will have to do a staycation sometime ! Love riding the boat to Disney Springs! Thanks Quincy !
We stayed here in the late 90s when it was still Dixie Landing and are considering staying here again with our 9 year old. You're video brought back some great memories!
Quincy I love your resort tours. I noticed in the Port New Orleans tour you were unsure of who Rose Red was. She was Snow Whites sister in the original Grimm fairy tale that Walt Disney based his Snow White movie on.
Hi! We were there in 2018 and we loved it. It’s so beautiful, our room was a princesses Royal Guest Room and my two daughters felt in love wit it. Hope some day we’ll return to Disney. ♥️🥰🏰♥️🥰
I have stayed at this resort 7 times over the years. It is my favorite resort by far for one reason...YEE HAW BOB! He is worth the crowd at River Roost, he makes our vacation. That said stay here if you can.
Thanks for another resort tour. When you do any future tours can you show us if there's toasters/microwaves in the food courts. Also where the closest drinks Refill station is to your room. That really helps when deciding about staying in a big resort
At ~31:40 the berries Quincy is enjoying are Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) a southern American native bush. Once started they reseed somewhat freely by the birds and are really carefree but can be largish, and so may need heavy annual pruning. I did not look up full range, but they grow naturally in my yard ~ 11 hours north of WDW (by interstate speed) in my yard in southern Appalachia.
Quincy, I was really stumped by the turtle shown in the bathroom as well. I tried thinking of WDW attractions with turtles: there are some in Splash Mountain and in the Voyage of the Little Mermaid ride, but these didn't seem to match. I eventually did a web search and found there is evidently a scene in Snow White called "a chipmunk washing a shirt on the belly of a turtle". So, I think that is it; the turtle is from a washing up scene in Snow White. (I appreciate that all of the sidekicks shown in the bathroom are washing up. Very appropriate. Oh, and evidently "Rose Red" is the younger sister of Snow White. Another think I was inspired to look up because of this video...
Rose Red is a cancelled American live-action fantasy film based off of the Brothers Grimm's Snow-White and Rose-Red. The story takes inspiration from the 1937 animated classic. In 2016, Disney announced a new film in development titled Rose Red; a live-action spin-off film of Snow White 's sister, Rose Red.
Great video! I would love to see a tour of Coronado Springs. I believe Molly did a video a while back but she didn’t show us a room or take transportation.
Excellent video by Quincy. The resort has some upside but I think it’s very pricey considering so far away from everything other than Disney Springs. That princess room is nice but I could never imagine spending $500 for a 334 square foot room. My main complaint is how come Disney could not get that main restaurant open again to correspond with the resort opening? Also that bagel sandwich is beyond disappointing to hear that they did not take the time to toast the bagel. Unless it’s an H&H bagel that was made that morning this is inexcusable. Disney has such an uneven track record with food. Frankly since the pandemic came in Disney has lost some of the magic, and the prices do not reflect that- They keep going up.
Okay, so I'm 5 months late, but regardless: Rose Red is a character from the story "Snow White and Rose Red" (but not that Snow White) about sisters and a bear and a dwarf. I'm not going to spoil it, but it was always one of my favorites when I was little because of the art in our copy of the story. For the untoasted bagel - I saw another Riverside tour where they had toasters (and a microwave) out for people to use if they wanted. Idk if maybe they just didn't put them out that day, but yeah, I think it's so people can do it themselves if they want.
21:28 Fulton's General Store is one of the best resort stores on property. It is huge [for a hotel store] and I always seem to find Disney merchandise I haven't seen in the Parks or DTD. It is also nice to see Mickey's nephews, Morty & Ferdy. They are rarely featured anywhere.
Can someone explain the bus system here? I’ve only stayed at Pop before that only had the 1 pickup and 1 drop off point. Where do I board the bus at Riverside if I want to rope drop the parks?
Please send her back when the full service restaurant and the New Orleans resort are open. Alligator Bend seems more charming than the "Old South Mansions", i.e. Plantations section...
On the next resort tour if it is a remote resort like this one or Animal Kingdom Lodge, can you please check what is the actual earliest time the busses leave? Disney says it is 45 minute before park opening however I think bus service starts before that. Thanks in advance.
Why did they stop toasting the bagels? I always got a bagel sandwich at Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge and they had it toasted or at least offered a toaster in the drink area, but last time I was there the toaster was gone and they couldn't toast it in the kitchen either. Whhhhy?
You cannot, you would have to go to a resort first and then switch to a bus going to the parks. They do this to discourage people from parking for free at Disney springs to get to the parks (and clogging up Disney springs parking lots). I believe you can however get from the parks to Disney springs, just not from Disney springs to the parks.
@@daphne3486 thank you. I’ve always stayed on Disney property and had no idea parking at DS was free. Something is actually free at WDW? Lol. Thanks again.

Wonderful story. So heartwarming. I’m so happy WDW POR made such a magical experience for you, especially your mother!!1
This was such a beautiful comment , thank you for sharing your experience. Sending you love

the turtle is from snow white when all the animals help her do the chores! the chipmunk washes clothes on his belly like a washboard :)

I’m always so impressed with Quincy’s videos. Love her and Molly.
Quincy has a gorgeous singing voice & should be on Broadway (as a Disney Princess)! Great POR tour, Quincy!
She was on Broadway in Wicked
@@scottwhalen429 You may be thinking about Lindsay. She was Glinda, I believe. (But Quincy does have a nice voice.)
Quincy is so precious. LOVED this video

I've stayed there twice. Also, I like the bed science with Quince.
Ha! You actually caught me napping in the River Roost lounge! I love your resort reviews, Quincy so it's cool to be in one, even asleep.
9541 and 42 were our Family's first Disney resort rooms ever! So awesome to see that room again. Riverside will forever be our favorite place.
Than you for your video! We miss Disney and you have brought back great memories of this resort for us!!!
We stayed in one of these rooms years ago and it was amazing. Only a $150 upgrade for the week and worth every penny.
I grew up coming to this resort. It’s bringing back so many memories. Love this!!
Love Quincy’s resort tours!! ☺️
We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2019 and I can’t imagine a better or more romantic resort. We absolutely loved it.
Really glad you did this video! We’re staying in a Royal Room in 2 weeks for the first time and we’re really excited! 👑
This room is so thoughtfully themed. I wish they put that effort in to other rooms

Loving all these Quincy resort tours! 💗
And I think those berries are American Beauty berries. We have them here over on Florida’s Gulf Coast, too.
I want Quincy and molly to go glamping at the campgrounds

We're a French Quarter family, love finishing a long day at the parks by hitting Scat Cats and just chilling with a Sazerac.

great video! We were supposed to stay here before COVID, hope we'll be able to soon. PS - Beautyberry!
We love Port Orleans Riverside- we place priority on transportation and honestly, Riverside bus transportation isn’t bad to anywhere!
That room looks so fun!
Your luggage rack, is the tufted ottoman, that's next to the dresser; there's also coat hooks near the adjoining room door (side of bed)

FYI - regarding the mysterious princess banner Quincy saw, Disney is coming out with a live action movie called "Rose Red" about Snow White's sister

My park visit was October 16, 2 days after Quincy was there. I was at CBR in April when she was there... Quincy... where are we going next? ;)
Where can I order the pillow too? I want to sleep like I'm in a Disney bed every night just like Quincy!
That singing voice caught me off guard!
Rose Red was Snow White’s sister-in-law the original fable.
That’s it! Thank you! It was killing I couldn’t remember
