Pandit Jee gives a majestic treatment to this majestic Raag. A rare gem that makes one nostalogic about Pandit Jee and his vision of this complex Raag. An unforgettable era of music has vanished with the wind. Every note of his music denotes his decades of labour put in for capturing the mood of the Raagas. Miss you Pandit Jee badly.
I was blessed to live in the same city and visited him many times while he was in Pune till his last breath. I was just a kid and couldn't understand anything about music but my father and mother used to cry a lot everytime they listen to him practicing in his Pune house. One of my father's friend used to live near to his house.
After when I grow up and was able to understand his music only then I realised that why my parents cried. Only he could make you feel like this.
He used to Riaz 20-22 hours a day when he was at Pandit sawai gandharv jis to lear the music. He literally devoted his entire life to the music and I am glad that even not knowing about him at such young age, I got to chance to visit him many time.
I wish I was bit younger to realise how great he was.

My God!!! I have NEVER.EVER. heard Miya Ki Malhar rendered like this, even by the master himself!! Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. No human language has words to describe Bhimsen Joshi's singing.... Thanks a ton Farhan Amin, and keep them coming!!

@@DrinkingWithDebu The drut is also MM. Although, indeed, I do remember an Amir Khan recording of a bandish in Adana whose mukhda has the same words, 'Mohammad Shah Rangile', and a similar tune also.

Thanks for uploading wonderful rendition in raga Miyan ki Malhar by Pandit Bhimsenji. However, his voice does seem to be 60-70 decade. It should be after 1975 or so.
FA tussi garate ho. Taking into account this is a fifty or so year old recording and through you tube which is at best 256 Kbps excellent digitization. Must be at 256.
