We can all be happy that matpat will still show up once in a while but he will truly be missed.
The 3 main reasons he wanted to quit was:
-1 He wanted to spend time with his family and friends, and didn’t like playing games only to find new theories
-2 He was getting old (37)
-3 He wanted to give the next generation a chance

Its not just editing, its the amount of research that goes into his videos. Thats what he meant by late nights. He spends at least 20 hours researching for each video and because of it he hasnt had much time with his family. Also his kid is like 5. He will still be involved as he will help come up with video ideas. If markiplier quit I would cry harder but I still cried for matpat

I can relate to Logan 100%. I enjoyed watching Mat Pat making for years! He was a comfort channel for me, watching him do his crazy theory was. Hearing other people talk in his channel is weird to me. It's so unusual I just click off the videos as well. I didn't expect Mat to quit, like most people, it was such a blindsided thing! 2024 is off to a bad start...

He’s giving his channels to his editors that he interviewed and has a lot of trust for they are still gonna be in the shadows overlooking making sure it’s up to par he described it as a grandpa that you don’t see all the time who still loves you and is still there but he already is just voicing over the videos and he wants to give these editors and people they know already put that hard work in a chance to showcase their skill but it’s depressing because we all love matpat and that’s the whole reason why they go to the channel, the new people are to child like which I get it’s for children but at the same time his audience is a variety of people and what matpat did is incredible and he will be missed!

Matpat isn't completely quitting the channels. He's just retiring from the role of host. He will still be working behind the scenes on the videos. He just quit doing the The hosting role to make some more time in the schedule for his family and for other projects that he has not had time to make yet.
