  • This is awesome! An outdoor mounted 5G Modem with integrated 4x4 MIMO Antenna that just has PoE Ethernet ran into the house for the best possible cellular data speeds for your home or RV internet. This uses a Qualcomm X62 modem and can do 5G carrier aggregation to get the best speeds possible. This unit has capabilities to work with any major US carrier including the MVNO's like Tello, Mint, Cricket, Total, etc. This video is the unboxing but be sure to check out the playlist below for setup, testing and performance videos. ‪@wirelesshaven‬ provided the unit for my testing.

    This Elsys Amplimax is ideal for camping, rural homes/agriculture, RV or anywhere you need a strong cell based internet service. Setup and very quick and simple. You need to purchase a data plan from a carrier of your choice and insert the sim card then you're good to go! Many companies offer a "tablet plan" and that is probably idea for this device, just check the terms and conditions for how much data/throttling they may have. Works with Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, etc carriers.

    Good presentation. A third party modem is the way to go. But so far I'm good with with a stock gateway and no antenna. This appears to be a Ferrari and priced as such. Integrating the modem and the MIMO using ethernet cable for an outdoor application makes a lot of sense. I'm sure it won't be long until others copy. Competition is good thing and I'm grateful that you stay on top of it and keep your subscribers informed of the latest developments. Looking forward to your testing.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  2 місяці тому

      If you mean you have a verizon cube and want to use this unit then the answer is it depends. The ASK cube has a physical SIM (pSIM) and so you can take that SIM out and put it in this unit with specific setting changes and it will work. The ARC has a eSIM and you can't. This is for an RV that is located in a campsite in Sturbridge Massachusetts with lots of tree cover. Although T-Mobile supposedly is good in this area. I have mint mobile that runs off the same Towers and cannot use my phone at the campsite. I am hoping the antenna and router works well for me. I have a Winegard system that was installed by the manufacturer. It is less than adequate and burns through data.
    I'll be ordering the Elsys Amplimax from Wireless Haven. I'll be pairing it up to a GL.iNet GL-X3000 (Spitz AX) 5G NR AX3000 Cellular Gateway Router. Both of those units have dual SIM card slots. Which of the two units should I install the SIM cards?

      yes that's correct. I know 100m is the standard rating for speed/data throughput. My slip up was actually saying meters instead of feet as I've had many folks agree than you often can't run the full 100m distance on PoE due to voltage drop, so its like 50-60m in reality (or about 200ft max).

    Hi @NaterTater - thanks for this video. I've been on the verge of purchasing a waveform 2x2 for small Netgear 1000 I have at a remote location.
    However - this is extremely interesting as I am able to get low signal 4G tmobile standing the deck.
    I'm thinking this might be a better option than just adding an antenna.
    I'm currently using AT&T Business Unlimited, which is costing more than I'd like. I get about 30 down 5 up with an antenna inside the cabin (an A Frame cabin with metal roof and side).
    It's a two story, and at the peak is an old Dish Network / DirecTV dish mounted that I don't use.

      @@NaterTater Bought just now using your link. Looking forward to seeing your updated review once you have it outside.
      In my setup, I'll be mounting on old Dish network arm, then behind it I'll be installing a Ubiquiti ER4 then wifi behind that. On the ER4, I have one at home and at the office and run TierZero virtual WAN. I'm currently on ATT business at the location now, but I'm able to get a 2 bar, sometimes 3 Mbps LTE connection on my phone with TMobile.
      My goal is get a solid LTE connection with TMobile. If it doesn't work, I'm probably going to have to go the Starlink route. It's about the same price as the ATT Business unlimited.
      Crazy enough - the ATT unlimited constantly threatens to disconnect for abuse if I transfer more than 200 GB. Which is a real problem for me because this is a very remote location. Lots of data use for entertainment and security.

By the way I was not referencing the price of technology in 1978 and 1990. but the current pricing of tech today and today's tech. When I started SDF Computers in 1990 the price of a 386DX PC was around $2,500 not exactly cheap. PC's are less then that today. So it is not as much about inflation.
