There are no words to describe how many emotions this closing music carries. This film has a crazy soundtrack, second only to that of Carpenter's films. Thank you R.H. for all. RIP
I know what you mean. When I saw the movie in the theatre, I sat in my seat while the end credits rolled, with the music playing. I got so lost in contemplation, that I failed to notice when the projector stopped. It was the theatre cleaning staff who jarred me out of my state. It's difficult to put into words, but the music evokes a soul-searching session; and despite it's rather low key, slow tempo, I always end up thinking about so many different things, people, places, experiences... thoughts and memories just flow at a rate that only my subconscious can control. This song is an unheralded masterpiece, in my opinion. Very powerful; and equally beautiful!
Carpenter knew how to get the best of the images, because as a musicians he is too, he knows the POWER of the soundtrack. How a good soundtrack can make a B.-Movie like an A.Movie. look "The Miracle Mile" (1988) just awesome too.
This is the most beautiful haunting meloncolic peice of must ever created no matter how many times i hear it i get chills every time i watch the hitcher it brings a tear to my eye one of the greatest films ever made. I love this peice of music so much i cant put in to words just brings out so many emotions. Thank you so much for posting the whole soundtrack forever grateful.
Savage ending to the Hitcher aka John Rider, if that was his real name. My theory is that he was an unleashed military experiment to see how long his kind could last and how many kills he could accomplish before his own death.
It wasn’t that bad. Halloween Kills is by far more gory and the more modern movies use a lot more blood. Have you seen the Hitcher remake with Sean Bean? It’s very graphic.
Common and ironic complaint considering the onscreen violence is deliberately kept to a minimum. People vividly "remember" seeing Nash get torn apart on account of pure editing and sound design, etc
Considering that the violence is actually rarely onscreen, that goes to show how psychologically effective the murders are. It's just like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, we remember it as more graphic than it actually is because of how psychologically disturbing it is. Masterpiece film!
I like stranger things, but using this track was less of a bow and more of a theft. you can't just take some things and pretend that they enhance your work.
The ending to this movie is brilliant.
The soundtrack is perfect
Rutger Hauer performance is so good
Rest In Peace

The last track was recently used in Stranger Things s4e5
@@ImranAli-xi4ty i know, but nevertheless I was not very happy with it, also because it belongs only to the hitcher

@@michaelgavioli6290 I get that. Kudos to ST for making us aware of it again but yes this music is for the Hitcher and Rutger Hauer….

You can smell the gasoline on Jim Halsey in the opening the restaurant scene.
It's more than music....

That Score is playing in Stranger Things, Season 4, Episode 5 during Hopper's Monologue!
As soon as it started playing I pointed at the screen and said I know that theme! Hitcher End Credits!
