I remember the first time I attempted this back in 2017. I had just gotten to summer break and finished stressing out about my college finals, and now I'm stressed about is getting a video out on time. Time is a flat circle in that regard I suppose. Also I still don't have the achievement for getting 10th prestige in multiplayer and its the only one I'm missing for the Platinum Trophy Sadge - Ігри

I knew it was manscaped! 😂
Snam, you have no facial hair 🤨
@@leeharveygibbles7104 That’s because facial hair has been scared to grow ever since they felt the power of a manscaped trimmer
Try to do call of duty 3 in veteran. Or call of duty classic. Classic is more challenging by far
What did study for in college snams? And is it connected to what you do for work today? Or r u only a UA-camr now ?
Ah, yes, COD WaW. A WWII game that realistically shows how often grenades were thrown in the real-life version of the war when you play on veteran difficulty.
Yup
My grandfather who fought in WW2 told me the same thing. He said their were grenades everywhere lol
@@BENNY_MAC Mine who died at 89 years old fought the Japanese and was nearly blown to bits by grenades 200 times over.
Nearly impaled by a banzai charger's bayonet once too.
Makes sense.
A bunch of enemies in small spaces, even if you don't kill you injury at least a few
There was apparently more grenades than bullets in WW2, who knew?.
WaW taught me 2 things:
1) There are some game designers/developers who just love to make their fanbase suffer for fun
2) The Germans had an unlimited supply of grenades, and had NFL QB’s throwing them with marksman levels of precision
Add the Japanese to the second item then. Cuz these guys in this video seem to be carrying more explosive ordinance than a damn missile
You really have to appreciate the fact that Steiner was able to convert the Reichstag into a grenade factory the day before Dimitri got there. Truly one of the most dedicated soldiers of all time.
That was an order!!!
In my opinion this mission isn't even the worst.
There's a japanese mission that is 1000 times worst than this mission.

"Burn 'Em Out"
@@melonlegs4110
Yes this one. ☠️☠️☠️
@@melonlegs4110
This one and "blowtorch and corkscrew" these two missions made me cry. 🤣
Downfall, heart of Reich, burn em out
Years of life expectancy removed from my body because of these levels
Can’t forget relentless. That mission was hard.
Burn em out was the worst on veteran
Honestly blowtorch and corkscrew and the castle one were infuriating for me. Downfall and heart of the reich are just ridiculous as well. I think burn em out is pretty easy with the flamethrower
@@tomkapa was blowtorch and corkscrew the one in the dark in the tall grass?? Absolutely horrific level 🤣
@@Monolithinteal yes lmao the Japanese are brutal with the hidden guys
As someone who has completed this, I feel your pain. Thankfully, I did when I was a teenager with literally nothing better to do.
Same, I saw the video pop up and got flashbacks to the teenage me who was bored of zombies and thought veteran cant be so bad...
Yea I did this on veteran as well in total I've beaten
MW2 MW3 BO2 Advanced Warfare Ghosts WW2 and WAW on Veteran
Yea 7 campaigns on Veteran
And I was 1 mission short of beating both BO1 and the original MW on Veteran
Outside of that I've beaten a few missions in Call Of Duty 2 and the first mission of BO3
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 i recommend call of duty 4 MW, not that bad and pretty fun
Same and beat Halo 2 Legendary. Couldnt even imagine doing that today.
I did this on veteran, cost me a controller 😢
"Burn em out" was the one that tested my patience & endurance on Veteran.
Very long map and every grenade known to man is on that map with zero good cover.
Those godforsaken Type 99 gunners man...
Blowtorch and Corkscrew, too, for the American side
The thing is, Burn em out is a actually a very small map. It's actually the shortest mission in the whole game in terms of ground covered and time spent fighting, assuming you don't die. But its level design coupled with Veteran difficulty is such a bullshit combination that it artificially extends that mission to ridiculous levels. On Regular you can finish it in less than 5 minutes and that's without even speedrunning it, just sprinting around with the flamethrower
That level was nightmare fuel
@@SimonPetrikov12 omg that mission made me rage so much
me and my friend played this so much as kids, all i remember from veteran mode was grenade spam was insane to the point it was just comical, you'd get chased away by one grenade only to walk into another retreat somewhere else just to have another 4 of them surround you on all sides lol
It's been over a decade since I went through WaW on Veteran. I had very clear memories of Heart of the Reich (for obvious reasons), but nothing else until now. This video brought back additional bad memories of Burn 'Em Out and Downfall but also good memories of Black Cats (that stage has such an epic soundtrack) and Blood & Iron (I love driving tanks!).
THE AA GUN BOMBING RUN WAS TORTUTE AAAA
I remember how brutal it was to get this achievement. The Russian mission before Seelow Heights is what broke me, as well as the USMC flame missions.
Every time the game gives you a flamethrower it’s basically to just cremate yourself haha
i remember telling my friends in school how punishing WaW is on veteran and no one believed me. the grenade spam is like nothing ive ever seen.
also side note i feel bad for anyone who didnt experience WaW in its prime. easily a top 3 cod
For real I was still I'm primary school so about 8-10 years old when I did this on veteran I've done all cods on this level and this one was the most pain in the ass. I also struggled with the mission in mw1 when fleeing with captain mcmillan and waiting for the helicopter with a shit load of enemies coming. But like you said the grenade spam on this one is the worst
I mean they’re all the same copy/paste game just now that the charm has worn off
Was my first cod ever remember finally convincing my mom to get it after playing it at a friends…. Good times man
@@carlinytc7431 I never did a cod game on veteran but my stupid little ass was like I love WW2 history so let's do this on Veteran my older brother did it in the other cods too. The grenade spam makes me cry even now and fuck it was so bad but finished it and my brother never did. After that never did vetran again for any of the cods and played hardend as a sane person.
Yes before we have Call Of Duty set in the future, Call Of Duty: WW2, and Vanguard WAW was the best.
A Snamwich video is always a joy to watch.
why? what make this video fun for you? just wondering?
@@Itellyouonlythetruth the gameplay, the commentary, the content itself, ect.
@@Itellyouonlythetruth His editing, background commentary, his constant laughter, joking and smiling while dying in situations where I probably would've thrown my PC out of the window. It's just fucking hilarious watching someone die over and over again and still laughing it off. It's like this dude feeds off his own pain and suffering. The whole setup is just ridiculous and I love it
A thing of beauty is a joy forever. :)
I’ve played through all except Advanced warfare on veteran and I can confidently tell you that WaW is far and away the hardest on veteran. Payton Manning himself is cooking each grenade
Advanced Warfare was quite easy. I played through all CoDs on veteran in 2022 except for CoD1, Vanguard and WaW. Imo all the CoDs from the 8th gen consoles forward are quite easy, especially the newest ones like Cold War and the new Modern Warfare games. CoD4 gave me the most trouble because of the Chernobyl level.
in the mw2 remake, theres one point in the Estate mission that's almost damn impossible on veteran
@Snow Paw you mean the evacuation with ghost? Where you have to race to the helicopter on foot and get swarmed by enemies? This shit sucked, the hardest part of the game. Took me like 20 tries on veteran.
@@S3mj0n yea yea that part, I got a bad checkpoint and if I didnt start running immediately I got almost instantly killed from behind
@Snow Paw me too! It was incredible frustrating. The Favela level was also tough, but still manageable. The race to the helicopter with ghos was pure luck!
Dude this was the very first Platinum trophy I got back in my early gaming days.
I just recently started watching you and you've inspired me to going back into Platinuming games. I'm fully supporting you and would love to become a streamer like you on similar challenging games!
It’s a lot of work but you got this dude! Good luck!
What’s really worth thinking about is that within the next 5-10 years there won’t be anyone left who lived through it. My Grandpaw is 93 and he was 14 when it ended.
I feel your pain with the final mortar on the mortar mission. It was atrociously hard
Honestly respect to you for going through all these ridiculous achievements. I tried the Akumu one from TEW1 and I almost went insane and still haven't finished it
If you go back to Evil Within at some point I’m sure you got it the next time man. Good luck!
@@Snamwiches Thanks I appreciate it. I'll try again and see how it goes!
Been watching this channel since the Dead Space 2 video. It’s been wild to see how much the channel has grown. Your hard work and positive attitude is infectious, road to 1 million coming soon.

you've easily become one of my favorite UA-camrs over the last month and you've helped me get way more into achievement hunting!!
Lets goooo, always hoping these will get more people into the hobby :)
WaW veteran was beyond frustrating, but I can say I saw it through.
I honestly had a harder time with BO1, which is weird but the infinite enemy spawn on that game annoyed me more than grenade spam.
Congrats fellow veteran 🫡
I did this back in the day. I will never forget how frustrating some of these levels are . Kudos bud
"you can see more dome then a blowjob convention" is genuinely one of the funniest sayings I've ever heard in my life. thank you for bringing this to my attention
I only found this channel about a week ago and already binged all the videos.
They’re to good man.
Pure Gold!!! Thanx Snam!!! You have no idea how much I look forward to your videos and I always have your streams playing as a companion while I do my own Achievement hunting! Keep up the good work my friend!
So glad I found your channel long ago - how you're not internally exploding doing some of these videos is far beyond me.
Looking forward to the next one.
Dang Snam, beating this game AGAIN on the hardest difficulty...JUST CUZ. Salute to your perseverance! Looking forward to the next achievement!
What a wonderful surprise to wake up to! Also congratulations on another sponsorship! It's been an absolute pleasure watching your channel grow.
Snam, I discovered your channel at the start of the year and it's fast become my favourite subscription! WaW is my favourite CoD. I remember trying this when I was 15, and that's when I first truly experienced gamer rage.
Keep it coming! Love the content!
Damn this just unlocked a memory I didn’t know I had. I need to see that prone only veteran run 👀
Haha now I gotta see if I can do it!
This brings back memories of ten year old me playing through the campaign with a scratched disk that would crash at the first tank mission so it became a speedrun to get to that point.
I honestly believe Relentless was a much harder mission than Heart of the Reich and Burn Em Out on veteran, had more trouble trying to pass that level with the broken checkpoints from start to finish and how brutally unforgiving the entire cave section is.
I am so glad I found your channel. Your content is so entertaining and I really enjoy all of the effort you put into the videos with the editing. Also, the dedication to completing the achievements, despite all of your pain and suffering for hours on end, makes it THAT much better. Thank you Snam for the laughs ❤
Even though I only started watching you not that long ago, it’s crazy to see how much you’ve grown in that time. You’ve quickly become one of my faves on here and deserve every sub you get!
I have to be honest. Your positivity and attitude is what brought me here and even though I've been watching you for maybe 2-3 days, I'm watching everything you post and I'm having a blast! Keep at it, Mr. Positive ❤️
thank you for uploading snam, your videos really make my night. work has been horrendously stressful and the laughs really help 💕
Thank you man, glad the vids can spread some positivity:)
Just FYI, I used to study coding for FPS game and work with some of them. The way player's hit box work in an older game like this one is when you crouch the code will simply reduce the size of your hit box and you will reduce back to smallest hit box when crawling on the ground. Basically player think they play as human but the code seen them as a literal box moving around. Developer usually balance this by just reduce your movement speed along with the hit box size.
Well, I know that it actually work like that in real life too (Not all but most of it work). The lower your position is the less likely you will get shot.
Nice you got sponsored. Love to see you grow. Saw you since the first video. It is really rare that the quality from the start is ducking high and you still keep it up and improve. Look forward to every video.
F
I pay my respect to you.
Everytime I go back to play CoDWaW campaign I always play it on Veteran. I just get far more enjoyment out of it.
Ahhh hello my fellow masochist
A fun fact: on last American mission, the enemies have terrible aim as it's implied the soldiers where regular civilians forced to fight. You can see it as some of them even have glasses on.
Love these vids man, glad to see your channel grow.
I’m the only Masochist in the world that actually enjoyed throwing back grenades constantly.
Obviously some situations were impossible.
But throwing it back and seeing enemies fly was actually satisfying.
Like a baby version of today’s Parry obsession!
I have played this game on veteran many times and I have also seen many people play this, but I have NEVER seen anyone kill the sniper in vendetta the way you did. GGs to that.
Same thing happened to me on 360, got the game on ps3 too but I cannot face ever playing this unfair mess again to test it!.
Beating Heart of the Reich on veteran is genuinely one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever done. It didn’t even feel satisfying to beat, totally understand the pain
Hey man first time on your channel. What a great video filled with nostalgia of my childhood playing this game and mw2 for hours on end after school. Subbed!!
Good work on the play through! Vet on WaW is insane, I too remember my pain as if I was really there. Great Game. Great Video.
I remember Veteran for this being awful and I feel like I'm suffering PTSD flashbacks to grenade spam watching this.
I also remember Veteran in CoD2 being just as awful and bringing me to tears from frustration. On the very last level after hours of having a miserable time going through the level the game screwed me over horribly. One objective was you blow up a tank and then all I had to do was just walk to the end with my squadmates. Unfortunately I had blown the tank up on a section of road that had two metal fences on either side of it. That caused my dipshit squatmates to be unable to pathfind around the tank and reach the ending point. I was furious at this and the idea of having to redo the entire level so it caused me to cry in frustration which just pissed me off even more. I don't know how I did it but I managed to get those assholes passed the tank and I was able to finish the game and never have to deal with it again.
"Can we go up this way?"...."Of course we can...". Fucking hilarious. And that moment was the real calm before the storm. Great content, bud. Brings me back to my "completionist" days.
37:32 gave me War Flashbacks to my Veteren playthrough. Thank you for that.
Swear whenever the day is really slow I watch your videos and my day flies because I really enjoy your videos Snam. Hope you make a million more
I still get so excited when one of your videos comes out. They definitely brighten the days haha.
I’m really glad to hear that man :)
I miss the old days of simple but fun Call of Duty. I think this game was the one I put the most time in.
You got no idea how much I love these videos. Keep up thr good work man 👌🏾
Yessss! I've been waiting so long for this video to come out!!
This achievement was hell, But I love it ironically. Not only has this mode scarred me for life, now I can't play War at War on anything but Veteran.
I haven’t seen anyone else notice the .935 second reference. That was god tier thank you snamwiches.
Snamwhiches, you are by favorite my favorite UA-camr on the platform. Your challenges are so fun to watch! I’ve re watched all your videos at least 3 times. Also it’s fun to watch you suffer 😂
The image that pops in my mind when someone says “CoD World at World”, is a bottomless wicker basket filled with grenades
Hey Snam! How about you do the "I CHOSE THE IMPOSSIBLE" achievement from Bioshock? You must end the game without dying on the ultimate hard mode.
All you have to do is constantly save.
as someone who got this achievement i just want to say that this game on veteran is a nightmare that will haunt me for all time. Grenades, Grenades everywhere.
I beat this on PC way back in the day. Two moments that I still remember is that cave in the Pacfic mission where you have to clear the mortars (same one he got stuck in for a bit) and the final causeway. In the end that causeway is just luck of not getting grenade-ed to oblivion.
Ahh yes, I remember my first and last try on veteran for WAW lolol it lasted up until them grenades started coming nonstop. Screen staying red etc. good video lol I hated this campaign but LOVED it at the same time.
"Burn 'em out" reminds me of the "Takedown" in the original modern warfare 2...Militia members constantly spawning around every corner and being on roof tops...pain...just pain.
The flamethrower makes it so easy idk why he never used it
@@tomkapa I don't know but in "Takedown" nothing makes that easier. I mean the shotty is great but doesn't have a magazine so it takes to damn long to reload.
Did veteran for my first playthrough, I ended up finishing it, and became an amazing sigma male.
Amazing, as always honestly, still can't believe how long the bet war went on for while you suffered with that trench gun, but it sure made great content!
The sigh at 18:25 and the fact that beating the mission didn't even feel satisfying... they really wanted you to experience that war is hell hahaha
I hope you're feeling a little better knowing that this video is done ❤️
Boss must have stayed up most of the night for this.
@@Tanto95 LMAO basically but I can finally rest (for like a day then it’s onto the next haha)
@@Snamwiches I respect the grid.
27:49 You’re actually kinda on point. CoD WAW tried to portray towards the end of the war, the Axis started conscripting the disabled (or people that weren’t previously considered ‘fit’ to serve in the military) due to low man power. So them either being badly trained or having bad vision (you can see the soldiers starting to have glasses) is actually in the game.
Just so we are clear. I loved this game before it was considered good. I still remember the time when everyone said that WaW was the worst CoD game there was - who’s laughing now.
Great game and loved it online back in the day. Great video as always Snam!
Oh god! This brings back memories! This was one of my first platinums as a kid. I felt so proud when I finally got it. Those grenades!
A hacker gave me maximum prestige 🥵
Did this in 08/09 when it came out and everypart of your video was still burned into my memory like it was yesterday. Has to be the hardest campaign
Look at Snam BLOWING UP. 136K ALREADY?! Seems like you were at 6k when I subbed and I've blinked and here you are... well done man
I got rejected by my crush today but this video is here to comfort me
Go beat this campaign on Veteran. They'll come running!
@@firehawkd thx dude will do
A bit of future advice: the more impossible challenges you do the more difficult a challenge needs to be to entertain you, so be careful with the challenges.
Not true imo. I've done tons of ridiculously punishing trophies but I still get entertained playing super easy stuff too. It's refreshing to just enjoy an easy game sometimes without pulling your hair out.
What the fuck are you talking about, this isn't true at all 😂
Yessirrrrrrrr another video by the legendary Snams! Always appreciate the content and editing my guy
Tremendous Snam, keep up the great work as always
great stuff as always, keep up the good work
Letssss gooooo a rare Snamwiches video 😂 can’t believe you got all achievements on this game. Respect.
I stopped this challenge when I got the infinitely spawning grenades on the final American mission. They'd hit the ground and immediately explode. Took it as a sign that the gods didn't want me to beat it lol
Your videos are always great and this one was amazing as well. Hopefully it gets the love it deserves
I recently went back to platinum this game. It was crazy to see multiplayer still has players!
Dude, I haven't even gotten off the first mission in COD MW3 and BO1 on veteran yet lol. I'm always impressed with how you do these runs. Mama didn't raise no quitter, but damn these levels make me rethink sometimes: "Mama should've raised someone who knows when to quit." Currently I'm training. Able to get to round 34 solo on MW3 Survival though.
so for some reason if i remember correctly is that in that mission at the 28:00 mark the AI was made to kill not just the player but specific soldiers in your troop, if you watch your soldiers they will die and respond to then die again to simulate war. but for some reason one of the NPCs that is on the AI target list is immortal and can't die similar to npcs like reznov specifically (character will never die but will get shot at sometimes but not as much as the killable ones.) so basically speaking, the AI targets the one "killable" ai you have only for it to be immortal and for some reason won't change targets until that one is dead, otherwise basically there is a infinite meat shield.
I got stuck on the Burn em Out cave/3rd mortar pit for 2 months. Had memorized where the enemies spawned, how much ammo for every available gun, and what spots triggered enemies to spawn. Even the last 2 missions had nothing on the torture of pushing that last cave
Veteran campaign achievements are a total pain, but honestly, the pain is kinda fun because at a certain point you just shrug. Death ceases to have meaning.
I definitely hit that point in Black Ops in Khe Sanh going down the hill.
Beating this on veteran while achievement hunting some of the hardest achievements is still one my my biggest accomplishments as sad as it may sound but I felt proud when I shot that general with the pistol I restarted that checkpoint so many times over two days. The nade spam was so real
Glad to see another vid snam keep up the hunting
awesome video man. laughed so hard so many times.
I remember trying vet on this game and when it came to the cave section at the end all I did was nade spam with 3 seconds left on the nade so it was somewhat easy, but annoying if you hold it to long
i completed on veteran when this game came out - decided many years later to show it to my son. i never made it past the first level on veteran - was not going to suffer through that again
I do t usually look forward to gaming channel uploads but this man is just so top tier
I love your achievement challenges.
Been waiting for this one
I've played through and completed every COD from Call Of Duty II to Advanced Warfare on Veteran difficulty, and WaW was the hardest no contest.
This was one of the biggest reliefs getting Vet done on this my god! That one trench hallway i will remember forever.
I did this a couple of years ago. So satisfying once done. Blowtorch and corkscrew, heart of the reich, relentless and the other last level I can’t remember were the hardest. I really enjoy this game but the grenades can just eff off
I am proud to say I beat WAW on Veteran and "Keep your heads up and we'll get through this in three days."-Sgt.Roebuck
I completed MW1 and MW2 (original versions) on Veteran. Can definitely say that was a serious grind. Can't remember which one had the Favela, but that was just brutal. So many angles and blind spots.
Bro I remember doing that corkscrew and blowtorch mission and I thought the same thing that you had to climb that damn ladder at the end and this was back in 09 where there was no walkthrough and when I found out I could walk around I think I had a stroke or two but def one of the best feelings beating this on veteran
I remember doing this a year or two after the game was released. I remember that I had to basically crawl through a lot of the levels and hope I could get to the next checkpoint. It took 2ish day, lots of deaths and grenades, but I finally finished.
Lets goooo we love to hear it
