The actor who plays Kyoshiro is excellent. His stance and the way he walks when confronting enemies is so original and unique. He's like a ballet dancer.
He surely doesn’t walk like a Samurai alright. He lifts his toes up too much, yes, like a dancer. Samurai must maintain full balance always. Hence walking in a special way. 26:45 Lady Omiyo-no-kata walks more like a Samurai than him. 😂😂
I can see why this Nemuri Kyoshiro movie is so popular. I was fortunate that It was the first Nemuri Kyoshiro movie I watched. Beautiful cinematography and well acted. The opening tells the back story well. And, as others have mentioned, Masakazu Tamura brings a unique and elegant style to his sword play. Thanks for posting these movies.
Thank you for this. It was pretty good. He had graceful moves. That ending fight under shooting fireworks was cool. Have to subscribe to your channel now.

The charachters are all very well formed. Unique. The lady who's banging the Shogun, for example, psycho. Absolutely crazy... I love it. Also how Kyoshiro does very little, says almost nothing and everyone around him loses their sh*t. Also, it took me a while to realize this is partly a comedy.
I've seen quite a few of these Nemuri Kyoshiro pieces now. They're great, and I love them, but I have this constant nagging question: Where did this orphaned half-breed outcast get his comportment, manners and advanced combat training? Is there a backstory episode somewhere? Yes I know we see him training in wgat looks like a monastery, but no one is ever seen training him.
Great question . He was raised by a monk is spoken of in the Movie. Yet, his sword training is not told. You can learn manners by watching others but the Movie does not disclose who or where he learned his sword technique. He was 15 when his mother kills herself, he buries her alone, his father having abandoned his Missionary Catholic faith into a twisted sexual cult. He is truly left to survive in a society that does not condone “ the half-breed offspring of any one not Japanese. These children were often killed at birth or raised to be Assassins. “Born under a Unlucky Star” “ A curse to Women because being around him means their death “. My take a Master of the Moon Killing style came across him, as he was in a fight , saw potential and trained him as a killer to be used by an elite backer. Except, his basic kindness could not be beaten out of his character and he decided his own path of darkness on his terms, not anyone else. How that spark of humanity remained under the brutal training , being an outcast, no family, friends or home- is remarkable, but a problem for his Master who may have decided to kill him since he could not be controlled. I could be way off but that the sense I get from his character. Any other ideas , out there? Would love to hear about them.
What does it mean by full moon technique relies on light? What does light have to do with the execution of the full moon technique? Can anyone enlighten me?

I have watched both actors. Each is his own interpretation of the character. Tamara’s slim build and facial features lends itself much more true to biracial heritage. I personally prefer the aloof cat like physicality of his movements, very precise, no wasted movement. His face betrays no emotion, his eyes are veiled, a coiled spring beneath a calm , controlled exterior. He exudes a confidence in his sword skill that makes other men jealous and so they must challenge him. To Women, they sense the pain in those eyes, the loneliness in that erect shadow, the sensuality that if released could overwhelm them. Like a moth to a flame, Women feel that heat and crave the desire to feel unleashed and indulge in all the layers of being a woman enjoying her sexuality. Not something, society allows. Proper women are only allowed the missionary position, being the passive partner, not actively pleasuring herself with her partner’s body. The bad girls - can go much farther, more positions….. A wife is duty, a mistress is for pleasure begins to make sense in view of these restrictions.
@@KittymoreJoy Thank you very much for your lesson. Have you seen the TV series Nemuri Kyoshiro acted by Takao Kataoka片岡 孝夫(かたおか たかお)? This is the reason I am not used to the Nemuri Kyoshiro acted by Tamura Masakazu. It drove me to recall the assassin who was killed by Hiroki Matsuyoshi whenever I saw Masakazu. Maybe some people consider he is a cool version of Kyoshiro, but I could not read his psychic activity. Besides, I don't like his unique voice. Thanks.
@@KittymoreJoyvery much agree with you about Tamura sword fight. It is very efficient and only strictly necessary movement (sword strokes). I think it's rather a paradox that it is as if Tamura refrained from unnecessary killing and he did not seem to take pleasure in killing, contrary to Raizo's version.
@@jojoanggono3229 you are so right about the paradox. He does not take pleasure in killing even when it is warranted , not an easy line to not cross. It means he still has a heart, tho incased in ice- still a moral compass. That to me is why I am so drawn to the character he created. A very underrated actor in my view.

@@KittymoreJoyreminded me of Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronins. In the story hee was brought up by monks of some very obscure sect.
You have to watch the original TV show.
Masakazu's portrayal of Kyoshiro is a little emotional in this movie unlike in the 70's series and past movies where he's cold and indifferent.
Very good actors and actresses!

Interesante, un samurai a parte de hábil con la espada, es un rompe corazones 🤭
¡Bueno.. él no las busca.. son éllas solitas las que se lo rompen.. pues se le pegan como moscas en la miel..!

I think the technique doesn't work if there is no sunlight/moonlight, he is powerless in pitch blackness🤔
Olé, Nemuri-sama 🙏
Is there a part I and a part II ? Just wondering about the name.

A way to go to match Kurasawa. The pace is elegant.
I enjoyed the film very much.
Thank you very much!
the legendary Tamura Masakazu playing the lead role nemuri kyoshiro in his prime
Yoko Minamino, is a also a singer in the 80s very pretty too
Super.
Seems to me that the 1960's Sleepy Eyes Of Death series with Raizo Ichikawa VIII is by far the best, these TV films are a bit limp in comparison
Continue the movie please..
