0:45 lol, in Germany completely different. If you are at a red light and there is an emergency vehicle coming from behind, you are required to move past the red light so the vehicle can pass.
Here in the UK, most people do drive past the red light if it's a one lane road or there is no way for the emergency vehicle to overtake. It is reasonable to slowly drive forward until you create enough space for the emergency vehicle to overtake.

Sadly we need to retrain a lot of blue light drivers as they are a real danger to other road users. I have many examples of vehicles being forced on to pavements, across red lights and across junctions in to the path of other vehicles. 95% of the really poor drivers are police. Shouting and waving arms about does not make a red light turn green any faster or make a space appear on a road after a local council has narrowed it and built high kerbs to funnel traffic. I never see ambulances or fire engines being driven dangerously, it is only police and RNLI vehicles of all things. Not everyone can see, not everyone can hear, people do step out on to the roads as they are stupid. As for red lights, do NOT cross one unless a police officer in uniform takes control of a junction and stands in the road directing traffic. If they direct traffic and you are involved in any accident as a result of this direction, you can not be prosecuted. If you say you moved out of the way, broke the law and killed a few people by causing a crash, you will go to prison as it is NO defence. The same for bus lanes, leave the emergency vehicle to use it, do not move in to it. You are not responsible for poor planning, bad placement or lack of resources of emergency services, that's their problem.

As for the bus lanes: often they are empty and can easily accommodate emergency vehicles. So don't block of an easy route by pulling into any kind of free lanes, e.g. bus lanes. Also goes for free lanes on crossings. If there free space, DONT BLOCK IT.

Funny, how different the systems are. In Germany, the emergency vehicles can and will overtake at any possibility. And they are allowed to. They can even use bike and pedestrian lanes.
0:50 exact opposite of what you are told in germany: here you are told if needed, ignore the red light and drive over the line very carefully. But our road/traffic system is very different, not as many traffic isles and often some space behind the stop line so you don't drive into the intersection if you do cross the line.
Often I signal in good time and pull to side of road when I see a bike light, lost count of amount of cars that then try and go past me whilst the blue light nearly rear ends them
I have slowly gone over a red light indicating my intentions to the drivers on the right hand side as long as it’s safe, the emergency vehicle has always thanked me.
They're thanking you out of politeness lol... if your action caused a collision they would not thank you because you're choice to move over the red is actually making the emergency response driver liable for any collision regardless of whether they "bullied" you into crossing that red, or you did it of your own volition.

This is where the "smart " motorway is stupid . The hard shoulder gives an open lane for emergency traffic . Now they have to dodge in and out of vehicles on the "smart" m/way . If vehicles break down on a "smart" m/way , there is nowhere to put the dead vehicle into a non live lane . Thus creating an even more dangerous situation ...
These videos are great but your comment regarding never go through a red light, whilst I wholeheartedly support, sadly some blue light drivers do push drivers forward by sounding the siren, particularly police drivers. I will continue to push the blue light aware message to my learners and hope that the blue light drivers respect the same.
Quite often they are from the old school of emergency response driving where bullying road users was considered standard practice. It is now very much discouraged by the standards of every emergency response driving course.
If my braking causes you difficulty then you where too close in the first place. If I need to stop in an emergency, you should be able to as well. Don't tailgate and heavy breaking won't be an issue for you.
A lot of people still don't notice or pay attention to lights and sirens, UK Emergency Vehicles should be equipped with Whelen HHS 3200 Siren System which has the rumbler siren which is a siren you can feel and hear.
I'm always looking in my mirrors and usually see blue lights and take action to get out of the way. But on the M5/M4 junctions with loads of roadwork going on, I had to move over the other day, to have other drivers then overtake and cause a tailback! This caused problems for the Blue light crew. Why don't people become aware of what's going on around them? instead of being blinkered and have to get where they're are going? So annoying
So important to get these type of videos out to the general public having been a 'traffic officer' for 24 years. Prefer the old version. Sorry! I found this new one stilted and the commentary was poor and did not engage the viewer. i also did not like the use of the CGI effects. I found the old version to be made in a much more structured manner with keywords popping out at you to help you remember and highlight was was required to be safe and not create danger. I'm all for change but this video did not press my buttons..
I've seen videos of emergency vehicles in London pushing other road users through red lights which they shouldnt do they should wait with sirens of then once traffic is moving again put sirens back on ..also round our way people instead of keeping going and just making space they slam on the brakes then when you catch them up they pull back out again without indicating ..😡
Brilliant video, needs to go viral, though you should make hard copies and send it to the boys in blue.....since they are a law to them selfs and dont turn there sirens off even if your on solid white lines 🤷♂️
0:39 OMG something is fundamentally wrong with this country. In other, normal countries it is actually allowed to violate some of the rules while keeping in mind that you still have responsibility for your actions. It means giving way to a blue light is not an excuse to cause an incident or accident. Let me explain: it is 2am, you and another car is waiting at a red light at a junction on a double lane one-way street. A blue light appears behind you and none of you moves, despite having plenty of space ahead of you on the pedestrian crossing before even reaching the crossing carriageway, because that would mean violating the red light. Again, no pedestrians, no crossing traffic, it is just three of you in the whole borough. Congratulations, the blue light just lost 30 seconds because you do not want to risk anything. In other countries it is absolutely fine to one of the cars pull over on the pedestrian crossing and give way. Listen and learn how the cars violate the red lights without risking anything: ua-cam.com/video/GsgYDI6f6hY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/GsgYDI6f6hY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/GsgYDI6f6hY/v-deo.html
Most of the time they will opt to drive on the wrong side of the road, especially if its 2am lol. Also what does it matter. I guess our system also values the lives of those just out and about in their cars. I guarantee that some accidents are caused in places that allow pedestrian vehicles to pass red lights.
@@MrPianoMan (facepalm) oh yes, here it is the very first brainwashed reply. I just explained and showed that it is possible without risking anything, but you are just repeating the same health and safety b.shit. Repeating what you were told without re-evaluating it is the root of the problem.
And some traffic lights have red light cameras which will catch you if you do this and you'll get a fine. Emergency responders are obviously trained to deal with these situations.
Highway code specifically states not to pass through red lights even for emergency vehicles and emergency responders know this, so they expect people to not go through the lights. If people go through it could possibly cause more issues as emergency responders won't be expecting it

Funny, how different the systems are. In Germany, the emergency vehicles can and will overtake at any possibility. And they are allowed to. They can even use bike and pedestrian lanes.
In Canada you have to pull over at almost any cost.
0:38 In Switzerland, you should pass a red light slow and carefull if necessery
2:03 so you want me to smash into the central reservation if an emergency vehicle is trying to pass? gotcha
Coming from someone who plays ems from the UK I this is true but no one ever moves and if I over take them they cut me off
Wow I learned a lot to drive in TruckersMP Real Operations 11 Event :) Thank you GEM
same
I love how we need a special video to teach drivers how to make way for a emergency vehicle.
0:50 exact opposite of what you are told in germany: here you are told if needed, ignore the red light and drive over the line very carefully. But our road/traffic system is very different, not as many traffic isles and often some space behind the stop line so you don't drive into the intersection if you do cross the line.
As we know, a lot of UK drivers are incapable of doing this 😅
I'm an American and this was in my recommended for some reason
So should you then use the hard shoulder as a rescue lane?
I honestly never realized how different US vs UK motorways are. :)
Stay out off bus lane and dont go through the red lights
Right
From streatham common to brixton town centre must have bus lanes for 5 miles
What to do when there are road works on a crowded motorway
Often I signal in good time and pull to side of road when I see a bike light, lost count of amount of cars that then try and go past me whilst the blue light nearly rear ends them
Brilliant video keep the awesome content coming keep up the good work
here in america, when you travaling down a road that has a solid yellow line, you pull over no matter what
In Australia, If you the first car at a intersection you need to run the light but you get away from a fine. You have proof.
@@jayvaisey5660 don’t patronise me fella
@@deanbeckworth1053 🤣🤣🤣You think that’s patronising? How delicate your self-esteem is. I’m just telling you how it actually is when a civi like you breaks the law out of misplaced good intention and how it can effect us emergency response drivers.
In The U.S *where I live* Police cars, fire trucks, And Ambulances Have Some red lights, and some Emergency Vehicles have some other color lights, beacause ambulances have white and green lights.
Who else is here from truckersmp?
me
The next Event is happening mostly in Germany tho, so you'd have to replace left with right. Since the video shows Britain with left hand traffic.
Me😎
Me!!!
I am, I can't wait for real operations
So actually I live in Canada so there’s a red and blue lights
Thanks for the information!
In louisiana we use all blues so yea
Great video
Very good and useful information 👍🏼
0:10 and 1:53 A fire engine, an ambulance and a police car at the same time??? IT'S THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!!!
Oh, just your regular 2020 mate :)
Fire, police and ambulance regularly respond together. Usually to a car accident.
No, the apocalypse is when the fourth vehicle to pass your car is an RNLI lifeboat.
It’s sad that there are so many people that just don’t care about these things
I wish many people open up their eyes and see the icon bar which is in the text by itself because that is the siren just there
Do we need this
I'm American and just saw this on my recommended.
1:13 What kind of toy car brand is that?
Blue lights? in USA Canada we use Blue, Red , and withet. But this is nice.
Make sure to park at a place, for a emergency vehicle to go through.
Tiller trucks: *am i a joke to you?*
USA: nah ima just drive where i want
1:54 don’t have hard shoulder anymore
Not so smart motorway
These videos are great but your comment regarding never go through a red light, whilst I wholeheartedly support, sadly some blue light drivers do push drivers forward by sounding the siren, particularly police drivers. I will continue to push the blue light aware message to my learners and hope that the blue light drivers respect the same.
Yes , yuo raise a very valid point.
Quite often they are from the old school of emergency response driving where bullying road users was considered standard practice. It is now very much discouraged by the standards of every emergency response driving course.
And they are the reason why humanity is good
Please don’t slam your brakes on, our hgvs have auto braking system that brakes for us heavily if you do it too quickly.
If my braking causes you difficulty then you where too close in the first place. If I need to stop in an emergency, you should be able to as well. Don't tailgate and heavy breaking won't be an issue for you.
Fire trucks have red sirens in Greece.
So annoying
Great video and informative 👍
Glad you liked it!
At 0:26, I don't understand why.
This was kinda useful i was just watching this because i was interested didn’t expect to learn something
what if I’m not near a emergency vehicle how do I drive
Stay calm. Stay Safe.
Spot on video!
Greetings from TruckersMP
Lol the police once told me that i meed to go thru the red light because of the hold up so idk what to do know
So important to get these type of videos out to the general public having been a 'traffic officer' for 24 years.
Thanks for your observations and thoughts Neil
I've seen videos of emergency vehicles in London pushing other road users through red lights which they shouldnt do they should wait with sirens of then once traffic is moving again put sirens back on ..also round our way people instead of keeping going and just making space they slam on the brakes then when you catch them up they pull back out again without indicating ..😡
I've been trying to let this police car pass me, but it keeps following me, idk what's going on
Brilliant video, needs to go viral, though you should make hard copies and send it to the boys in blue.....since they are a law to them selfs and dont turn there sirens off even if your on solid white lines 🤷♂️
Thanks Mike.. it is designed for use by all. The previous version was used by some 999 driving schools and we hope that will continue.
Good information
0:47 I can't believe what I hear, you better move your ass across the light, no matter what color. I know, not in this country. Sadly...
I'm always surprised at the number of people who ignore the red X 🙄 Seems like the importance of that signal isn't widely understood
Is there a download link anywhere to download the video ?
I don't even live in Europe but I guess it is good to know
What if we're in America
I’m in Ottawa so it’s red white and blue and yellow
Hi those of you watching from TMP
2:51 that emergency vehicle is doing a bad job there’s litterly a white hole at the end of the road
Listen and learn how the cars violate the red lights without risking anything:

@@MrPianoMan I write it down again, this time slowly, so you can understand: two lane, one-way street, no opposing lanes.
Highway code specifically states not to pass through red lights even for emergency vehicles and emergency responders know this, so they expect people to not go through the lights. If people go through it could possibly cause more issues as emergency responders won't be expecting it
Thank you ❤

2:42 i heard roblox there
Jesus we need more of these type of PSAs in here the US 😂
