Was born on the year Under the Pink came out, so for me the first song I ever heard of hers was already Sleeps With Butterflies when I was in a thrift store.
This album is how I got my name! My mom said when she listened to Tori Amos I would kick around and dance in her belly. Funny thing is, 19 years later and this is my favorite tori amos album.
I've been a Tori fan since around 92, and not ONCE have I ever gotten tired of her. She is the greatest musician/composer and Woman in general. What a goddess. Love from Jane in Australia... Blessed be 💫💗
Same for me, but, I have to admit that: - kate bush is the greatest. -tori amos, the one I ll always love. -lana del rey, the actuel artist with interesting univers. (Sorry pj harvey, regina spektor, fiona apple, alicia keys....ect....to dont mention you) Peace ;)
I'm 18 and I was raised on Tori's music. She's one of my absolute favorite artists and I would die to meet her. I feel heard out and acknowledged when I hear her music; I hear pieces of me in her. I've cried to her music so many times because it hits home. I just think she's special and my bleak, grey comfort in times like these. I hope she's found her permanent happy place. She's incredible and a streak of light in so many people's lives.
Roland Baldwin I definitely will. I don't think she's toured for the past two or so years, but if she tours North America again, I'd drop everything to meet her and see her play. I'll probably cry just because of how surreal it would be. I respect and admire her so much. I'm really happy you had the opportunity to see her, btw!
If it was your parents that introduced you, they are awesome and I hope you appreciate them. :) Yes, Tori is one of the few artists who conducts meet and greets with fans the afternoon before a concert. Not in my city though :( We always get the show the night after a show in a bigger city and she flies in too late to have time to meet her fans. Still amazing live, though.
MrBlonde1703 Yes they are and yes I do. I'm really close to my parents and am grateful to them for showing me her stuff from an early age. And oh... right. I'm sure seeing her perform alone is a seismic and enthralling experience
Nocturnal Flare kudos to the people that introduced her music to you. You sound like so many others, Tori has that effect...go to a show, find the backstage be back there at the fence...be polite...and you can meet her. Just be there b4 she's there...Only artist I know that does that for fans
This was the first song I ever heard from Tori Amos. I was 13, maybe 14 when I bought this album from a flee market. This is the first song on the album and I was sold right away. I didn't know anything about her but became a fan from the first "father, I killed my monkey"-lines :) Still love her so, I have all her albums, LPs and singles and saw her live 4 times... the best female singer alive.
I just had this image of people at a "flee" market :) Clutching tori records and running really fast! Collecting. Used to have a decent amount of tori stuff, wish I still had some (but it went to good homes when I needed $) There are probably people with rooms full of toristuff, like every b-side. Mag with her on the cover, UK version of everything, which was essentially the same as the U.S. version... you should Google, see people's very dedicated collections, your mind will be blown.
+Amy Lynn Hunt Yeah, I've seen pics of some collections. I've also tried to collect something... mostly LPs. Don't have much of them mainly cos my job doesn't pay enough :D but I also live in Finland so there simply aren't any Tori albums not to mention rarities here...I'd have to buy everything from ebay. Oh, and the Tori fans at concerts are pretty crazy usually! When she was in Finland for the first time in 2007, people were rude to each other, pushing their way to the front row shouting "if Tori's in Finland, I have to be in the front row!" :D Maybe it's just us finns who are crazy though :)
This song from Tori Amos is very interesting, because she's getting her fans' attention about having some relief from all of the stress that they've been through at the time that she was popular back then.
@Angelo The video is perfect! It clearly shows the devotion Tori's fan base has for her and vice versa. The exchange of energy between fans and Tori is visible on multidimensional levels. The love for the music, the love for the artist and the love for the fans is brought together perfectly in this presentation, all of which represents the greatness of the inspiration that is Tori Amos. And that is Bliss. Both the women and the music has touched and changed the lives of so many for the better. Mine included. I see that connection clear as a bell here. Kudos! The great thing about Tori.... her fans spread her music, not The Industry.
Lots of these types of fans / toriphiles in the video were the annoying kind. The kind who rushed the stage before she completed singing of 'the bird keeper' I'm a diehard tori fan and met her at tower records on sunset. She signed my boys for pele LP!
Les.. I just came across this six years later and I want to thank you and say that is the best review I have seen of this video. Because it covers everything I hoped to achieve both shooting editing and directing the video - Loren Haynes
My music video preferences are usually mini movie, high concept surrealism or over the top visual stylistics but I do also love a clip that portrays some essence of live performance. Plus Bliss so wonderfully shows her power over an audience.
The outro sounds different here. Is it the same as the one on the album or am I mistaken? It has been a while since I've listened to it. Love this beautiful song and video 😍 xx
Каролина, дорогая: помнишь? Мы слушали этот альбом вместе! Тысяча чертей, как снова слышу эту музыку, всегда вспоминаю о тебе! Желаю, чтобы у тебя всё было хорошо!
It's "a hot kachina who wants into mine" From what I've gathered, Kachina is a Native American doll of sorts used primarily by the Hopi as personifications of the spirits and cosmos. Knowing that still leaves me with a lot of questions, but that's Tori.
She's probably now a mother of 3, living in the same area of Michigan, wondering why she had that in her nose. He kids probably have made wrapping paper out of this picture just to tease her. We were all young and dumb once.

I have so many strange and wonderful memories associated with this album. Probably my favorite, and a Desert Island Disc for sure!
The Silver Hedgehog yes, totally 🌴
Underrated in her catalogue
Great album . She is just magic all-round
I like the most because it pissed my boyfriend off so much. Also I loved it. But he’s a douche so there’s that Steady as it comes.
Such a Beautiful Woman and Artist.! She's so poetic and the way she plays piano is so unique! ❤
This song from Tori Amos is very interesting, because she's getting her fans' attention about having some relief from all of the stress that they've been through at the time that she was popular back then.
I love this song so much. How can anyone be this cool she's unreal.
I love the titles of her songs, succinct yet meaningful.

This song is metal.

I hope Tori Amos makes the Hall of Fame one day, because the Hall of Fame is becoming a joke.
