Bears had a good season. Their defense was great and Matt Forte was the star of the offense. Cutler had a mix of good and great games (Cowboys, Eagles, Jets, Seahawks in Playoffs) with some bad and terrible games (Redskins, Patriots), but was overall OK. He was sacked over 50 times and was running for his life on many occassions. Jay Cutler got absolutely trashed by almost everyone in the NFC Championship Game, but he had an MCL tear, and the media and even players were very irresponsible.
You forgot the Giants game, which wasn't Cutler's fault but the offensive line. What did we get sacked 5 times in the first half? Ridiculous. We had several years 2010-2012 where we could have went to the Super Bowl if only they had kept Cutler healthy.
We had a terrible offensive line and offensive coordinator.. lovie smith could never select a good offensive coordinator... what we needed was a offensive coordinator that was similar to what they had with the broncos... our best receiver on offense was olsen and our best player was forte... and lovie goes ahead a calls a coordinator that does not run it and does not use tight ends omg
Go bear's this why people have cable TV or cell phones enjoy the game always a classic to watch after all these years appreciate you guys thanks job well done you should be proud stay warm and dry out there ! Joe
Yeah but can you imagine! Big Ben has as many AFC championship victories as Mark Sanchez or Arron Rodgers never having a super bowl MVP meanwhile either Sanchez or Cutler has a goddamn ring. THE MEMES MAN!!
This would have been a better Super Bowl than Packers vs Steelers given the circumstances, Jets and Bears both had 25 years or more Super Bowl title droughts so one would have been broken
We should have never fired Mike Martz after the 2011 season. Our offense was doing great that year till Cutler broke his thumb and Caleb Hannie shit the bed and lost every game from then on. In that offseason we traded for Brandon Marshall and drafter Alshon Jefferies. Mike Tice made the offense take some steps back in 2012 when he took over...... And thats with getting one of the best receivers in the league at the time. Then after that year is when we got martellus bennet. With horrible Trestman we had a fire offense that year. Could you only imagine with Martz at the OC position with that offense with those weapons it would have been the greatest show on grass. Out of all the years lovie smith was the HC and we had the OC carosel going, our offense was by far the best when Martz was OC. Yes I know he throws the ball deep a lot and his OB's get sacked as lot because he does 7 step drops and dont believe in keeping running backs in to help block but still. We went 10-6 and missed the playoffs in 2012. I think if Martz stays we go 13-3 and at least make it to the NFC champ game again, but in 2013 if we still had Martz and Lovie, we go 14-2 and win the superbowl that year. With that offense even if we had a mediocre defense we would have been unstoppable, but lovie was fired, urlacher was cut, and we had the worst Defense in bears history, and of course Mark freakin Trestman was our coach and we still went 8-8 that year because of the offense.
09-10 Jets; a lot of fun to watch. 3-4/2-4 with 'simulated pressures' = a 4 man rush that looks like 6 man blitz; but has better results with 7 in coverage. coachhoover.blogspot.com/2019/06/origin-of-simulated-pressures.html When its done right there's unblocked rushers while OL stand around on the other side with nobody to block. Add Revis to the mix to take best WR out; roll the other 6 defenders to cover the other 3-4 eligible receivers; and you have a hell of a defensive philosophy. In fact you probably only have 3 eligible, the unpredictable rush directions demand a RB stay to block.
This is a great/forgotten late regular season game. A lot on the line, too. Bears needed this win to earn a first round bye and stay alive for home field. Jets were also fighting for playoff positioning (would clinch wild card with Jags loss, anyway). Also, an interesting game as it was billed as a "bad weather" "defensive slugfest". It didn't wind up snowing nearly as much as anticipated and the game wound up a damn shootout. I happened to be there. Fun, fun game.
Devin Hester, Urlacher, Briggs, Peanut, Knox and that CBS scoreboard..what a time.
I hear ya, good memories. The defense was quite 2005 or 2006 good, but the offense was much better.. or at least much more balanced.
The FOX scoreboard for that year tho 🔥

Would have been a better matchup on the big stage

The Bears had a lousy offensive line during the Cutler years. He didn't stand a chance.
He got sacked a total of 9 times in first half alone. He did not return in the second half and he also missed the next game.

That Seahawks reg season game was tough

This could've been the Superbowl preview
Bears won that game
@@davidsalas5846 Yeah I know I watched it back in 2010. What's your point
Can you imagine? Instead of the Rodgers-Rothesburger bowl we have Jay Cutler v Mark Sanchez!! 😂😂😂 I honestly woulda loved it
dave s. it would’ve been boring tbh

That ankle breaker on Hester's punt return at 1:11:30 was gruesome..
_Just imagine if this was the Super Bowl 45 matchup_
I keep forgetting that these were 2 of some of the best defenses that year. Was expecting a low score but not an offensive shootout, really good game
This was my first time seeing an NFL game in person.
Johnny was a beast....
For those who came to see the 4th most cowardly punt in the 21st according to the surrender index it's at 1:50:41
This would have been a better Super Bowl than Packers vs Steelers given the circumstances, Jets and Bears both had 25 years or more Super Bowl title droughts so one would have been broken
The 2010 bears are very unappreciated check the stats on Cutler and Forte you’ll be amazed plus that defense was superb
Go Chicago Bears.

Johnny Knox was the only reason I liked the Bears. I hate them again because he retired!
He didn’t retire, he blew out his back and couldn’t play again, cheers. 💀🔥

Last time the jets actually had a solid team.

Championship game losers that year.
