I was there watching this, not that you could see much of it due to the mist. I never bet but my son does indulge occasionally and a contact of his had heard a whisper about this monster. It’s got to be the largest horse i can remember seeing in years. Must be 18 hands easily i think. Don’t think it touched a twig from what I saw but given those long legs it’s hardly surprising. 3000 to buy as a 5 year old, wasn’t the worst beginner chase either. Congratulations to the team for getting this giant to the track, astounding it had the speed but it won nicely. Congratulations to my son for backing it, dare say pops can let him buy the curry tonight 😂
he is from the family of epatante........i backed nurinbergring the 2nd jolly........he hit about the first 7 fences....if it was not his 3rd chase i would have thought he had never seen a fence in his life...
Fair play to your son 👏🏼. I was there too today and sent my brother out to back numbers 11 and 14, he came back with slips for number 11 and 4, best mistake he ever made 😂
It’s fantastic to see that horses with those odds can win in my opinion. He is gigantic to state the obvious so just hope he gets run lightly or sparingly you know.
I thought of Holy Roller, too. I saw Empire Rose a few times and she was absolutely massive. I couldn't get my head around a TB that was even bigger than her.
@@m.l.b.2908 Ahh. Memories. My lifetime biggest collect on any race was the trifecta in Empire Rose's cup win. If I recall correctly, wasn't she 17 hands or just over? That is still massive for a mare!
@@rossmurray6849 Yes, she was 17.2hh and weighed well over 600kg, if I recall correctly. I made money on the Cup as well, although the old man had to place the bets as I was underage. I had her on the nose and Na Botto for a place, as he was from my small town and the kids of his owners had been my classmates.
Terribly racist remark for us poor Irish. You'd be in real trouble if he had a thick Cork accent. "Like a knacker trying to speak French" as Tommy Tiernan once remarked.
Thanks for posting

Thank God it wasn’t the lottery though!😱

Would be good next to horse to put H15 or so..then you have an idea if it's a big horse or a pony..especially in handicaps. That horse looks H18.
@@trevorjohnhill4596 thats actually a good idea
How big is he? The biggest racehorse I've ever heard of is Holy Roller, who raced in Australia about 10 years ago. He was 18.1 hands!
Party politics, who won the grand national over 20 years ago, was over 19 hands

Can't really remember many bigger than party politics .he was huge
Thoroughbred / Clydesdale crossbreed. Size of him is ridiculous 😂
He's not a crossbreed. A 'thoroughbred' -- by definition -- is a horse whose sire and dam are known to be thoroughbreds!
@ 😂😂😂 Oh Ross, it was a wee joke pal
@@OneForTheNorth Fair enough. You got me.
Love to be a bookie laying these at 150/1. Turn round and stick it straight back onto Betfair where it was paying 405/1. Anymore for 150's ???
"If" they pay-out. Betfair have a habit of that.
WOW!! US BETTORS LOVE THESE(GIANT) PRICES FROM A GRAND SIZED HORSE!!
Costs 3 k
Second again grrrrrrr
"Top of the morning". Absolutely couldn't understand one word spoken 👎
Till ya 😂
Maybe you need your ears syringed??...Obvious you didn't back it.....🍇🍇🍇
What a restricted life you must lead. Jeannot Lapin is Johnny Rabbit.
He said he had a ton each way, and nobody says top of the morning,
