@djtechtips a couple of the spots have broken gear that they never move. This makes it easier for me to setup and not have to move a bunch of stuff around. Taking up minimal space.
Great review, and I get where you are coming from 1009%. A great review with very good points. I personally do enjoy using the Denon Go, Sometimes standalone, sometimes with VDJ. There is something freeing about not having a keyboard mouse and screen between me and my audience. It brings me back to the late 80's/early 90's, when I was on vinyl and eventually CDs. I also have a Prime 4 which has a super goofy layout. I would suggest for people who like the Pioneer layout for the $12100 range, to also consider the SC Live4. Pioneer "industry standard" layout with all of the powerful benefits of Engine software (SoundSwitch built in, stems on standalone, plus much much more.
I have a Rane One and picked up the original Prime Go as a back up,, I have them both paired to my iPad Air with Algoriddim Djay software and now I only use the Prime Go and have the Rane as a backup,, I absolutely love the Go and love the portability of it, the build quality, the size and of course the battery power option, I have used it at clubs by quickly plugging it into the house mixer through a spare channel, Used it at bars and also Djayed at private parties,, There’s only a couple of things I don’t like about it, The fact that I can’t see the battery life when in computer mode, The Eq location (although I have gotten used to it) is not my ideal setup, And lastly the lack of mic eq,, Other than that, I have it paired up to a set of JBL Eon compacts using Sennheiser wireless body packs and I have a completely wireless system,, Recently did a small beach party and it was perfect (although another pair of JBL’s would have been preferred)
I’ve got the original prime go and I recently used it for a school dance. I’ve used it for several now that I think of it. The biggest thing that I don’t like is how cumbersome it can be switching between the main deck screen and tidal. I get a million requests and don’t always have the songs they want so I use tidal. The amount of lag and having to switch sources every time is painful and takes away from focusing on the mix. Does it work in the end? Yes. Is it worth spending the whole time frantically switching screens and trying manage the mix? No. I’ve come to the point where I will use it with virtual DJ on my laptop from now on for vastly improved ease of use.
I have the Numark Mixstream Pro Go and feel like it is a way better option even though I hardly ever use it. I use an Ipad and an Everse! Just did a video on it as well!! ua-cam.com/video/_3x7T8WAHUE/v-deo.html

Once I got used to the workflow it's my go to for bar gigs.
I had such a hard time with it. I feel like I would love the bigger one though, the prime 4. I’m happy it’s working for you though!

The SC Live line is really nice. I’d love to get my hands on one to try.

I love that you can use it. I had too much of a hard time with the size of everything. I would love to try the Denon Prime 4+.

Yea that’s a bummer. Totally defeats the purpose of it. I’d love to try the prime 4+. I feel like that is more my type of standalone.

The iPad/Everse combo is unbeatable. There are some really cool standalone units out there.
