I just installed my 3hp V-3000 system 2 weeks ago and it is a DREAM! I only wish I could have afforded the nordfab ducting as I have movement in my shop coming up and I will need to take down all of my hard pipe and redo everything. UGH!!!
@@rw7532 when I bought (2021) it was the week before Black Friday. I missed it by a day, but emailed and a rep basically said if you call me right now with a card no. they’d honor the discount. Things may have changed since then. I contacted them twice after purchase for odds and ends, and both times the agents were extremely helpful and amicable. This is coming from someone who hates phone calls with every inch of my being.
i understand this is an ad, but i’m tiring of you tubers who get tools for free and tell us we need this. sure if i was in a commercial set up but as a hobbyist i’ll stick with my 2HP and filter 😕
Thank you for sharing. Due to space concerns in a smaller shop, I too consulted Oneida and with their guidance and direction, I settled on the Mini Gorilla. Four years later and I am very satisfied with the results, the portability factor and a much cleaner workspace. My lungs and I thank you Oneida. Keep up the great work 😊
I bought the Oneida Supercell for my small shop so that I could avoid the expensive 6" ductwork. I have 4" going to all my tools and it works great and I couldn't be happier. When considering the long-term health benefits IMHO good dust collection is a must..
What 4" duct work did you buy? See my longer reply in another comment here. MY Supercell is coming this Friday. I have 4" from the orange store and Oneida said it may be ok to still use it. Have you had any issues with the duct work you have as I am guessing you did not get the nordfab stuff?
You're the guy that got out an anemometer and an air quality meter to compare your old $50 shop vac with a new filter and bag to a $$$ Festool Dust Extractor and proved it worked just as well. Now suddenly because of a YEAR of talking to "experts on the phone" you have decided that the ONLY viable option to upgrade your dust colletor to handle your table saw is to go with a nearly $6000 5HP Oneida DC + ultra expensive ducting wth zero testing or measurements. LOL
Well yeah because they gave it to him for "Free" in exchange for the video. That's how these UA-cam channels work, they get free tools worth thousands for a 10-20 minute video, in order to try and get as many people that watch to buy the product.
Way to try selling an expensive dust separator 😂. Homemade cyclones definitely work. Your claim of it filling too fast is absurd. An expensive one fills up just as fast as a homemade one does. Simply empty your homemade one every day, and it will never fill enough to start picking up and sending into the vac.
Witt can’t say the Oneida is “worth it” because he didn’t pay jack for it. There is a good possibility , to offset the cost of giving it to him it likely means a price increase for the rest of the people who end up buying one.
I got my Oneida system maybe 25 years ago. This was before they had the red light to tell you when the barrel is getting full. I have filled up my filter a couple of times. For me, the best way to get the dust out is with a water hose. It keeps the dust down, and hasn't done anything to the filtration process. I think the new filter goes down to 0.5 microns. My first one was 2 or 3 microns, can't remember.... One other thing about Oneida. There are 2 measures for air flow. One is cubic feet per minute, and the other is static pressure. A number of the "off" brands will fudge a lot on their CFM measure, and even on their static measure. Oneida does not.
Once you're in the new shop, I'd give serious consideration to putting that beast in an outside shed. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Take care & stay safe.
I thought about it, but the new shop will have air conditioning and humidity control - and I don't want to dump all that air outside. My neighbor's woodshop does that and he laments the inefficiency of that and cautioned me.
@@wittworks Is it possible to put the jet engine outside and return the air inside? Insulate the shelter for it for temp and sound control? A heat exchanger to recover the conditioned air? I guess anything is POSSIBLE with enough money...
Love it. Love the video. I feel your pain doing things yourself. I just bought the Supercell. It is showing up this Friday. I too had one of your setups. It is a harbor freight and I picked up the super dust deputy from Oneida. Pleated filter with a bag under it to catch what may hit the filter. I moved into a new home and have tons of room for shop so I splurged on the super dust deputy and piping from, yikes... home depot. It is 4". Thought I was all special and fancy with the hookup. Mannnn... The dust collector dust not suck. You get what I mean. Horrible. I waited two or three years to finally move and get duck work and the super dust deputy for a complete disappointment. I procrastinated for months now and went back and forth with Oneida. Told him what I had and they recommend the supercell. My harvey table saw has a 4" port for the cabinet that has a 2 1/2 inch hose shared on the 4", which I don't like either. The 2 1/2 is for the overheard dust shroud. First thing I cut on the saw was about 6 pieces of 3/4" ply. Cabinet was full of dust and the over head had saw dust piled up in it. So disappointed. I did weeks/months of research over the past 8 years especially the past 4.5 years. I know the duct work I have has only a few turns and no hard 90s and no T connectors and one small flex hose at the miter saw. Dust blast gates at all the tools. I tested with an anemometer. So bad. I am so excited to get the Supercell. Yeah it is expensive. But I cannot stand how much dust gets on me and everything else unnecessarily.
Anyone else catch around the 4:15 mark, he basically trashes the Dust Deputy? Oneida, you better stop making those, since they are so terrible. Seriously, I have one hooked up to my 1 1/2hp Grizzly wall mount, on top of a 44 gallon rubbermaid and it works so freakin good. Thanks Oneida for making such a great cyclone!
Kinda wondering why Oneida recommended the Supercell and not the Gorilla. I have a similar setup. I do not have a cnc or drum sander but I do have the same tools as you. Of course I have a bunch of smaller 2 1/2 port tools and sanders but the larger tools are the same. I actually have a grizzly 17" bandsaw that is dual 4" ports. We do not run more than one machine at a time. Not sure if you do since I sounds like you work alone. I am trusting that Oneida knows what they are talking about. I do not expect more tool growth for the future except maybe a cnc machine.
Happy for you. I will someday be a 5% like you. 3 car garage guy. I know my parents have that. But at our age. I am proud of you. And want an Oneida system someday. Right now I wanna build a lean to insulated area for the harbor freight dust collector I have. Small steps.
Oneida make good equipment. Are they the best? No. There are other companies that make equal or better equipment. But they’re fine. Be aware that a full metal duct system can cost thousands by itself.
Of course this an ad, it is on onieda's channel. Everyone has an opinion but I doubt Drew would plug it if he didn't think it was good regardless if its free or not. With that said I have a smaller/cheaped unit than he has there and use 4 inch pvc with homemade blast gates and its all a personal shop needs. I would love to have his but my supercell on a 55 gal drum has been fantastic. A remote at each tool makes it great. I used a deputy and a shop vac until I could afford better...yes the can one's work but they don't do as well on the small dust. But, debate away. There are a million ways to skin a cat and he has nine lives but I only get one set of lungs
Wait you have the supercell? I ask because in the beginning of your comment you say you have a smaller/cheaped unit then later you say "but my supercell on a 55 gal drum has been fantastic". When you say you have a remote at each tool, do you mean a remote for the supercell? I am waiting for my Supercall to show up this Friday and did not know you could get multiple remotes. I will look into that.
This is a dream come true. Thank you for partnering with me on this idea. It was fun! WORLD'S BEST DUST COLLECTOR.
It was wonderful working with you and we're glad to hear that you love it!

“Why a $4000 dust collector is better than a $200 one from Harbor Freight” or “Why poor people shouldn’t become woodworkers”
I’m poor and I saved up and bought a Supercell (during their once a year sale). I get this is an ad plug, but, to each their own I suppose 🤷♂️

Nice setup. FYI, you can use the over-blade tablesaw filter with two hoses using a splitter and the HF Dust collector. Works fine in my shop.
