I had PCOS. Wasn't having a cycle. Went keto and started my period 10 days later. Finally ovulated 2 months later. I no longer have any cyst around my ovaries. I've been doing it 4 years and was able to have my now 7week old baby! It works! I'll never go back. I've also lost weight, which is a great benefit.

It’s taken years for me to come to terms with the fact that sugar is my enemy. My body works so much better on a low carb diet. Meat and water are sustenance, all else is filler. Thank you for validating that.
Went carnivore, down 69.8 lbs in 4 months and I feel like a new person! Struggled with body composition since I developed PCOS in my 20’s. I’m 50 now. My endocrinologist told me I’d never be able to change my linebacker build -and he is a PCOS specialist who teaches new doctors. His advice was vegetarian diet. 😂 carnivore (and keto for some) was life changing for me.
Diagnosed with PCOS age 18. Now 55 years old. Lifetime of struggling. Went Keto under 20g carbs for 5 years. Lost 65 lbs and kept it off. Carnivore net zero carbs for the last 4 months. Incredible improvement with PCOS on Carnivore. Carnivore has reduced unwanted hair growth by 90%. No veggies or salad and limited dairy. Wish the doctors helped me all these years but they never educated me on diet. Thank you Dr. Berry for sharing the truth and educating us!!
Keto has has helped me a LOT!! I’m almost 40, and since starting keto I’ve lost weight (for the first time in my life), 20kg. I have regular periods (for the first time in my life), my rosacea is much better, I don’t get hangry anymore and my constant heartburn is gone. I’ll never go back to eat the way I did before!
@@alyb8058 I have RA too and been keto 4 years now. I have to be doing something wrong. I'm going to check that out. I don't eat nuts though. But I do eat a lot of cheese and he said something about dairy so I need to check that out. I am way past benefits of keto on PCOS. Except I have high Testosterone. Sometimes it's normal but I can't get anyone to help me with that.
@@hllymchll I'm not sure if you meant me or not but I when I started 4 years ago I was at about 50 and then dropped down to about 20 and I lost a lot of weight fast. I keep mine around 10 to no more than 20 grams per day. The less, the better. I lost 150 pounds and have kept it off. Just start with cutting out slowly until you get used to it. No special food, just no carbs. ;)
I have spent a life time of being told I was fat, lazy and a compulsive over eater. Until the last 5 to 7 years there was nothing to be found on defining PCOS and how to change one's diet. About 15 years ago my sister (with her High School Diploma) diagnosed my PCOS, but there was Still no place to turn for help. Most Dr.s still know nothing about PCOS and most of them are still telling women they are fat, lazy and compulsive over eaters. I am tearful writing this because I know I am not the only woman who carries the scars from abuse by ignorant doctors and the general population.
This made me so sad to read. I am 43 but have pretty much went through the same thing. I grew up with a mother that loved to bake and cook. Constantly. Then when I was around 12-14 she was always telling me how lazy and fat I was. How I would be so much prettier if I just lost weight. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and PCOS in my teens and then multiple sclerosis when I was 22. 🤦🏼♀️ Its been a long road. For many other reasons, I no longer have a relationship with my mother, but I feel awful for anyone who has ever gone through anything similar. Those scars never go away. 😔
I believe everything you say. I have suffered from PCOS since I was 15 years old. I’m now 37. When I went on a low carb/ keto diet my symptoms improved. I also got pregnant and had a healthy boy who is now 6 years old. You would think that would change my life and I would not go back to carbs, but I fell off the low carb diet and am now suffering with symptoms of PCOS again. I also have psoriasis. I noticed that being on keto also helped with my psoriasis. My dermatologist told me I most likely have psoriatic arthritis, but when I was on keto my joint pain disappeared. My flare ups weren’t as bad either. Im trying to start this journey again. It just gets really difficult because I love my sweets

So many young women of my acquaintance who over consume carbs ( and don’t eat enough meat/eggs) suffer from period pain and infertility. If only they would get the right advice. Thanks for putting this information out there, Dr. Berry!❤
I always view videos such as these with heavy skepticism, but I must admit that after reading PUBMED cited articles showing benefits of a ketogenic diet in women with PCOS I'm becoming more convinced. Although the current data is still weak, due to the lack of RCTs, and more research is needed, it still shows a positive trend between keto diets and PCOS. Thank you for your video.
Yes, please please I was just diagnosed with endometroid adenacarcanoma. I am completely convinced because I never was diagnosed with PCOS I now have thick lining of my uterus. I have never been able to have children, hairy chin, cravings for carbs, weight mostly around my center...sounds like candidate to me, yet docs missed the sign and now instead of preventative I must have radition and full hysterectomy. Please talk about the bio identical Hormone replacement.
Dr Berry since I’ve followed your recommendations my life has vastly improved. I do very low carbs and no sugar no grains and since my glucose is normal.
Girlfriend has PCOS. Have to get the info to her sensitively. I’m currently doing the BBBE challenge and have been low carb all year, I’m evolving from healthy Keto to Ketovore/Carnivore.
My 28yr old daughter has this. I wish and Pray my family would try to curve their addiction to sugar/ carbs, It will be 3 years this coming spring, since i started ketovore. For me' death was closing in quickly, i just didnt want to leave a 400+lb Coffin weight for my family to carry! I dropped 200lbs with in the first two years, been staying around the same weight for this last year so far. Seems They would rather die than give up carbage, I went from dying to now waching them kill their selves.
I have been struggling with Pcos for over 10 years. Been on meds and tried different diets. I’ve been on carnivore diet for 6 weeks now and my period came back after over 6 years of not getting it at all!
Diagnosed in 1979. After that I was living below the poverty level and there was not much food so I lost about 40 lbs. IBS, cystic acne, mood swings, well all the usual carb malfunctions followed me into adulthood. 3 years ago after nearing dying from a kidney stone and ending up 25 lbs underweight I asked how do I gain weight ? Eat porridge they said. I kept losing and turned to keto, shortly after carnivore. Never better, we are working on bile acid diarrhea now. It appears to have been a long term problem, so hope returns to my journey.
Sadly my youngest daughter has PCOS. She's 25. She rarely has periods and she likes that. Unfortunately, she won't do anything about because of that fact. I've talked to her till I'm blue in the face and she won't listen. She has never been to gynecologist either. I'll just keep praying for her.
Your a good mother. My mom did nothing to help me and 20 years went by and my symptoms cost me everything. I pray she wakes up fast because PCOS has terrible symptoms long term.
It doesn't matter that your daughter doesn't go to the gynecologist, because the gynecologist would only give her harmful pills and ass-backwards advice. My sister had PCOS and only ever got worse by doing what her gynecologist told her to do. She's still salty about it.
I have been on a 90% carnivore diet since November 7th and I already got my period. Usually I don’t get it for months or years. 💁🏻♀️ Still battling appetite. Have lost 7 pounds since the 7th.
Yes! I reversed my PCOS. I cut the carbs and started intermittent fasting. I eat one meal a day. In less than a year, I went from averaging one period a year to regular monthly cycles. I dropped 100lbs, the hair on my head is growing in thicker and the hair growth on my face and body is slowing down. Best of all, I got pregnant on the first try! I’m now a mother to a beautiful healthy baby boy! The endocrinologist who diagnosed me was convinced that was almost impossible. Thanks for spreading the word Dr. Berry!
Can I ask how many calories you eat? My PCOS is awful. I lost 67 pounds just before the pandemic doing low carb. Unfortunately, I’ve gained half back. I need to lose it again and keep going. I have about 100 pounds to lose. Trying to get back on strictly.
@@christineellis531 could try changing when you eat, morning vs evening, as well as avoiding polyunsaturated fats, so less pork and chicken unless you know it's diet is low PUFA, avoid all vegetable/seed oils any any products with them. C19 also seems to had an effect on mitochondrial function and beta-oxidation, reducing ability to create energy from fat metabolism, which may play a role. Looks like it's a result of increased ROS due to many factors, such as C19 effect on ACE2 and downstream effects. *Medcram* has a good video on this, explaining it better than I ever could. Potential solution for this, get near infrared light exposure, which produces melatonin in the skin, which works as an antioxidant. So get more Sun during the day, even in the winter. At night make sure the lights are off so your pineal gland makes melatonin when you sleep.
@@christineellis531 I have no idea. I didn’t count. I just ate until I was full at my one meal. I also didn’t fully drop down my carbs until recently, I just significantly reduced my carbs. I was in the same boat as you. While pregnant I gained 60 lbs back because I couldn’t eat anything but carbs without vomiting. And when my stomach was empty the nausea was unbearable. I went back only eating once a day after pregnancy and I’ve lost all but about 7lbs again. I still have more to go, that I finished loosing, but I’m very happy with my progress so far.
I have had PCOS since I hit puberty, and I ruined my life ever since! I have tried everything (and my mom is my biggest supporter during this). A routine gynecologist and endocrinologist check, birth control pills, diets, and some natural herbs. But nothing really helped. I had a 6cm cyst last year, and after that, I just gave up... which led to me gaining over 10 kilos in the past year, and my period is now super duper irregular. But I don't want to be like this forever. Thank you so much for this video. I'll give it a try!
I've had PCOS for over 40 years. I have ALL the symptoms that go along with it. I got my periods to come regularly on low carb 10 yrs ago. None of the other symptoms went away however. I have been under 10 carbs a day for nearly 3 years now...higher animal fats and protien but still have excess testosterone, body hair, difficultly loosing weight with many weight loss stalls lasting 6 mths or longer. Low carb PHD has improved my health in several ways but it has not (yet) resolved my PTSD. On a positive note I am now 58 And no longer have a Menstrual cycle anyway. Yay! I have been a Guinea pig over the decades with doctors ... I've had my ovaries drilled with holes, injections, pills , PAINFUL Lazer treatments, you name it they did it to me and all that ever did was make things worse.
I strongly believe that eating low carb help every phase of a woman's life... I'm happily in menopause and I don't have any of the symptoms my girlfriends talk about. ANY. Furthermore, I think I've never been as relaxed and in a good mood as I'm now. I'm certainly not obsessed by carbs but on a regular basis I have very little carbs and from vegetables. Some people tell me it's genetic... Maybe also I don't know but I've been following Dr. Ken Berry and others for a while and believe it has been a GIFT.
Dr. Berry, God bless you and your family for all you do. My daughter came home from an abusive marriage late last year. She put on a lot of weight and developed PCOS during her time with him. Her health has improved greatly, but recovery is rarely a straight line. She's been mostly keto this year, but her health markers were quite terrible last week. High cholesterol (216) and triglycerides (231), and a bunch of other stuff. The doctor insists that she go off the keto and onto plant-based. We are fans of you, so we know better. But we're concerned that her BMs are light beige to white and clay-consistency. What I've been able to find out means that maybe she doesn't have adequate bile? Or that her bile ducts are clogged? Should we start her on bile salts, or is there a better way to clear out the sludge in her system? Much good cheer to you and your family this Christmas and new year!
Hi Jennifer, diet isn't the only crucial part of health, it's about 1/4th. (Also, not eating OFTEN matters too). But #2: Cardio + building muscle most days of the week. #3: sleep quality & amount, turn screens off an hour before bed #4 lower stress levels with enjoyable hobbies & in person relationships
If PCOS is caused by highly insulin levels. Lower carbs under 50 grams some under 20grams Veggie carbs only No carb drinks More healthy fats, protein Full fat dairy, if not affected by dairy
@♜þinned ßy KenDBerryMD Ok yeah sure!!! Right away! Like your page doesn’t look sketchy at all and completely normal. I’ll message you right now pendejo 😂😂😂
Dr Berry, PLEASE do a video on bioidentical HRT for people without ovaries & uterus. Managing hormone deficiencies is a literal nightmare & knowledgeable providers are impossible to find. HELP!!!!!!!!!
I’ve had it for 35+ years. I had one period when I was 14 and never ovulated again. I’m 49. I’ve been paleo-keto for 20+ years and it didn’t help a bit. Well it did help me feel a lot better and finally lose weight. But in that time I had an abdominal hysterectomy and should have been in the ER 22 times with ruptured cysts. The only thing that keeps me from continuing to get them is my infrared light panel. I’ve had 12 ortho surgeries in the last 6 years so I couldn’t keep up my intensely active lifestyle and I’ve gained weight in ways that make absolutely no sense for a normal person- which is the way things have always been for me. I’m going to try longer fasts and cut out things like kombucha (I dont have it often). I’ve started berberime and acv and I’m going to hope to finally make progress. It sucks.
Back in 2003 when my daughter was a junior in high school I convinced her doctor she had pcos we put my daughter on the Adkins diet. She lost 50 pounds! It was a very controversial diet at the time. But she was put on the pill and had her period for the first time. She gained it all back and more when she was in nursing school. Then she had the gastric sleeve. She lost a lot of weight. But gained it back after a few years of not following the diet she should have. She's married and has a daughter though needed help with medication to help her ovulate and get the eggs to mature. Now she's going to have twins in April! The low carb diet is very good for pcos!

What you get while on the pill is not a true period. It's just shedding of the uterine lining. The pill prevents the body from ovulating ever, so you get bleeding, but not an actual period. In Europe they've been banning a lot of the birth control pills that are still legal here, because suppressing the body's natural cycles like that turns out to lead to problems later down the line (who could have guessed, right?) such as a significantly increased likelihood of various cancers.
I'm 65 now but I've had PCOS since puberty. I wish I had known this YEARS ago...or that my reproductive endocrinologist had known this!!! On the plus side...my A1C was 4.1 in September this year. I'm pretty proud of that!
Same age. Was told by 3 different doctors I would never have children. I warned my husband before we were married. But wanting to look good for my wedding, I went on the evil Atkins diet. Starving myself on 1200 low fat, high fibre calories a day was not resulting in weight loss. Nor was non stop exercise. Anyhow our first child came about a year after our marriage. Of course I returned to the food pyramid while pregnant. Wanted a healthy baby. Wish I didn't, as her Poly Ovarian Syndrom is much worse and I blame the food pyramid. She would have been much better of if I had stayed with Atkins. I gave up on having a second baby and decided to go again on the evil Atkins diet. Again became pregnant and unfortunately returned to the food pyramid. I started to gain quickly. So I kept my calories at 1600 low fat, high fibre calories. Was lectured on weight gain. Felt guilty about it. 80 pounds. I also felt guilty about not eating enough for a pregnant woman. Very miserable pregnancy. That's evil Adventist. Then about 14 years ago my husband had 3 strokes and we found out he was diabetic. I put him on the Adventist influence diet they gave me at the hospital. Food pyramid based. Every 3 weeks both he and his blood work were worse. This went on for 8 months. I read Good Calories, Bad Calories. Watched The Oiling of America. Changed both of our diets to the old British diet in the prologue. Basically the evil Atkins diet again. I dropped from barely fitting a size 18 to 6/8. No starvation involved or malnutrition involved. Fixed so many health issues including degenerative bone disease in my right foot. My husband's next bloodwork improved. Kept getting better. Several months later a stranger understood him. He is still doing great. I will never return to starving on low fat hell. As far as I am concerned I owe my children and grandchildren to Atkins.
I finally started taking my PCOS seriously. I believe this 100% because I started doing a protein heavy breakfast and incorporating higher proteins as well as eating regularly. I do take a few supplements like Salem cinnamon, berberine, inositol and magnesium glyceinate(sp?).... I haven't even started real workouts but I have been following the recommendations of taking a walk or doing some sort of movement for 10 minutes after I eat as well as slow weighted workouts and the PCOS treadmill walk.... That is all I have done and I have already lost weight and I have so much more energy and I no longer have cravings for sweets and when I do I have like one piece of chocolate and I am good.
I would love to see you do a show on glucose levels after an organ transplant. I have had a kidney transplant 17 yes ago and am battling with mildly high glucose levels for about 7 yrs. Since following keto it’s good now. I was told it was from steroid use. I take only 5ths of steroids a day now and have been doing great. Any thoughts? 5 mags a day.
I lived with PCOS for all of my supposedly fertile years. Depo provera, Metformin, estrogen hormones...the only dietary advice I ever heard was to quit caffeine in all forms. Which I did, and it did help. Now I'm fully post-menopausal and I was thankful for the relative peace and quiet. But a few years in, I developed hypertension (likely hereditary, so I'm told), Type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia (I refuse to take statins.) The worst part of it is urinary incontinence, compounded by pelvic organ prolapse and frequently recurring UTIs, with some random bouts of fecal incontinence caused by repeated antibiotics for the UTIs. I'm on a beta blocker, an ARB, a calcium channel blocker, Metformin again, plus an anti-spasmodic for the bladder and occasionally a low-dose opioid for the diarrhea. I'm pissed off all the time, and tired of living on meds but still afraid to go anywhere or accept social invitations because of the bladder. I hate this life.
There is also 4 kind of PCOS : Inflammation, birth control pills, Insuline resistance, stress. So it is nice to know which one you have. But healthy diet with low carbs is a very very good start no matter the root cause ! Also the causes can be multiple like 1,2,3 or 4 out of the 4 mentioned above. And they can impact one anothers like stress trigerring Inflammation triggering then Insuline resistance etc.
Probably over the fear of what pcos does to one’s life …. It effects every area. Thankful there are solutions the last few years with diet. It took me trying just about everything as well to figure out all this autoimmunity that goes with pcos.
Yeah, it's definitely NOT all about the food. You can have a PRISTINE diet- yet not build enough muscle, or have high stress levels, or squeeze healthy sleep out of your life... And there goes your sky high insulin levels and poor health. Dr Chatterjee talks about this with his 4 pillars of health idea
I went to the gynecologist recently because last month my period was not only almost a month late, but also was suspecting PCOS because of all the symptoms. Had pain for almost a month cuz of PMDD + delayed periods. I was stressed, I craved carbs, and that became a toxic cycle for the past couple of months. Anyways, I went to the doc cuz I was really concerned, even if I feared and knew what he’d tell me to do…….. yes, birth control, which scares me a lot and I expressed my knowledge of research, and experiences of many women. I know for a fact that my body doesn’t tolerate carb diets well, because I cured most of my eczema with it in the past in carnivore. I think before I try any harmful chemicals, I’ll try adding keto friendly veggies with estrogen, and keep my diet clean and low carb. I’m so disappointed on the medical system. I just wanted an answer, and wanted a quicker solution for the extreme fatigue while I work on improving my diet.
100% true and works. Never had really bad pcos symptoms, but they always made me feel anxious. Fertility issues and hair either not growing where it should or growing where it shouldn.t were the things that scared me the most. Months back I thought I was just lucky that I didn.t have it that bad (I was never overwheight nor did I have really bad hair loss). I am still a newbie to carnivore, but I already see positive changes (regularity, much much less pain). I am curious what I will see at my check up next year
I’m 55 yrs old was diagnosed in my 20s. I’ve been on diets since I was 15. I did find Keto and Atkins were the most helpful and felt the best. I however always fell off the wagon. For some reason I have never been able to sustain that way of eating, which is frustrating. I’ve been doing Berberine which has been helpful.
Just be careful when doing keto etc, I needed fertility for my first child after being told from a young teen that I would never have children, then came keto and have been pregnant six more times since with four beautiful children earth side (with a very big age gap between the first and the second, everyone else is close) all naturally from keto, not saying it will be a side effect for everyone but just in case anyone needed to know :)
my (what I suspect is) PCOS didn't start until I was pregnant. I ate healthy, as in no processed food, but I did eat a lot of carbs. I went from 120 prepregnancy to 190. yes 190 at delivery at 5'2". and it doesn't "fall off" during breastfeeding either 🙃. been debating on doing animal based vs keto but I think I'd benefit from lower carbs first
Are you sure it’s not just baby weight? I gained 50 pounds after graduating highschool and my stomach is shaped odd now with huge stretch marks out of no where an I have never had a kid. A lot of women gain like 50-60 pounds from giving birth. I’ve read that you can be born with PCOS which makes sense of why I was born such a hairy child and my whole life I have been more aggressive, defensive, and masculine. And my period started at 14 and has always been irregular. I think you have to have all these symptoms and possible cysts on your ovaries. I also went from a 36 A cup to a 38 D cup. My boyfriend and I took a break and a few months later I got back with him and he saw my chest size when I took my shirt off and said “Jesus Christ they got huge!” In the first year I jumped from 140-165/170 and now in the past year I jumped from 170-190 and I’m 5’0. If you start having period issues and it’s hard to lose weight then I’d definitely go get checked for PCOS. I started intermediate fasting 2 days ago and I’m on day three and I lost 3 pounds already. All I do for exercise is walk. My brother is fit and muscular and lost 90 pounds in the past year and gave me this diet. I eat at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00. And every third day I fast the entire day! No carbs, sugar, or soda!
@@ryleereynolds5710 LOL I wish my boobs grew that much. idk it's so weird. mine might be hormonal because I was always fit and in shape without trying hard and then I got pregnant and in the third trimester, I exploded in weight. most women do gain 40-60 lbs and not the recommended 30-40lbs which is barely anything. but most women don't gain 70 from pregnancy. I think my hormones and not eating enough protein at the time gave me high blood pressure and insulin resistance at the very least, so maybe not PCOS per se. either way I'm gonna try intermittent fasting and super low carb to help. thanks!
@@ryleereynolds5710 also my periods are always super regular and not painful at all luckily. so maybe you're right and I don't have the conventional PCOS. but I do have more of a mustache than I ever did before 😡
Dear Doctor! My girlfriend is 23 years old and has had PCOS for many years. After watching several videos and reading books, I am not sure why my friend has never been obese, she is very thin and has never gained any weight. She has a BMI of 18. She has eaten a lot of carbohydrates and sugary foods, but shows no signs of diabetes, no signs of insulin resistance, and no signs of obesity. On the other hand, she has ovarian cysts, irregular or no menstruation and hyperandrogenism. Is it normal to be thin and not overweight despite having PCOS? What could be the reason?
Thanks Dr. B., since I’m pretty sure I could audition for the bearded lady lately. I will be quitting coffee since I still use creamer and that’s where those carbs are.
I suspect that I do have PCOS but I couldn't afford to get diagnosed because either my insurance didn't cover it or if my insurance didn't cover it, they would not answer the phone. But I've been having problems with regular periods. But since starting the keto diet, I've been able to lose weight, my period came almost three weeks ago and believe it or not, my body hair has reduced a lot and I have a lot more the hair I want which on my head! I also don't find as many white hairs on my head to pluck before starting Keto! I also am in the process of starting a dairy-free diet as well but I read ingredients before I get it because a lot of them have canola oil and vegetable oil which is what we want to stay away from!
What can I do for Adrenal Insufficiency? My cortisol was 5.4 at 9:45am after an extremely stressful morning of getting kids ready and off to school. I just had it tested again at 8:15am, waiting on results. My doctor keeps suggesting plant-based (which I would never do again).
you can get a 4-part saliva home test for cortisol and see your daily total and cycle. you will probably need to find another doctor for hydrocortisone supplemtation but its totally worth it. First dose brought relief and ongoong treayment gave me my life back from CFS. I was able to wean off about a year later when my health was restored
Thank you for this video, when I was on the Keto diet I felt so much better from my PCOS, it's time for me to return to it. I do have a question, why is it that some cardiologists are so against the Keto diet when so many people are experiencing results? Is it true that it can harm the heart?
Depends. Primarily hair loss is from excess levels of DHT interacting with genetics. DHT is also what causes abnormal hair growth elsewhere, prostate hyperplasia in males, etc. If hair follicles sensitive to DHT are simply dormant, but not yet dead, then they may be recovered, but otherwise are gone forever. Hair transplants are the only option then. Only way to know for sure is reduce DHT and find out. *_This is where I'd get a physician involved._* DHT is converted from testosterone by 5 alpha reductase, DHEA upregulates 5 alpha reductase production. There are many ways to reduce this, but I'm only familiar with their use for men. I presume they'd also work for women, but more expertise would be needed. Drugs would be finasteride and minoxidil. Alternatively you can take saw Palmetto Berries and Pygeum, though studies show a bit less effectiveness vs drugs in DHT reduction, so you'd need to get the dosage right. Anyway, good luck.
Dr Berry, I have an idea! You and Neisha should start a meal delivery service like the ones out there now that have almost everything you need for each meal along with the recipe! I’m sure MANNNNNY of us would invest in that!!
Was told by 2 different GYN's that I dont have PCOS because I dont have insulin resistance, but I do have all of the symptoms. Was diagnosed as hyperandrogenism? I don't carry weight in my stomach, but do in my hips and thighs. Weight has been up and down most of my life. I can lose it quick but gain it quick too. Tried keto but was always so tired and hungry on it. Any idea if there are different types of PCOS? If so, is under 50g of carbs still appropriate for someone like me? Thanks!
Reverse 1.Lower carbs total 50gram under maybe 20g 2. Carbs are veggies !!! No Grains, wheat rice, corn 3. Drink no carbs juice, sugar 4creplace healthy fats and protein...meat , eggs, full fat dairy ... some can feel no good on full dairy Good luck watch other videos
Keto and Carnivore helped me immensely with my PCOS but a nice dose of Fenbendazole for 5 days absolutely reversed my PCOS...even when I started eating junk again. Don't rule out parasites and most become encysted and that can happen anywhere in the body. Dr Ken Berry....would you consider looking into that because parasite symptoms can also include cravings. It's not always hormones.

I ate some chicken soup and it came down to lighter around 4. I’m new to fasting. I eat low carb diet
Dr. Berry. I have suffered with PCOS since I was 13 years old. I have been looking into doing the Carnivore diet. However, I was told I was allergic to beef, I have not eaten beef for about 4 years now. I have been just doing Turkey, Pork and chicken. If go the carnivore way of living do you think over time I could start eating beef again or should I avoid it? I was never tested, just with the symptoms I told my doctor about he said I was allergic to it and to avoid it. So would love to eat it again. Every time I eat it I get bloated and have really bad diarrhea and burning pains in my stomach. That’s really all the symptoms that I have from eating it. Thank you in advanced

Your comment is very encouraging. Thank you!
What kinds of meat do you eat??
I hope you mentioned to your former doctor what you did and how great it worked. 🙏🏼👍🏽💪🏽
So inspiring. I wish we knew about this earlier

You rock Dr. Berry 😊
I have been struggling with Pcos for over 10 years. Been on meds and tried different diets. I’ve been on carnivore diet for 6 weeks now and my period came back after over 6 years of not getting it at all!
Hi, how do you manage it now
Diagnosed in 1979.
Thank you Dr. Berry. I’ve never heard of PCOS until recently.
I prayed for you and your daughter please pray for the two women in my family that have the same problem God Bless you all.
It doesn't matter that your daughter doesn't go to the gynecologist, because the gynecologist would only give her harmful pills and ass-backwards advice. My sister had PCOS and only ever got worse by doing what her gynecologist told her to do. She's still salty about it.
Can you not still get periods guess l did

Sure thing!
Trying to get back on strictly.

could try changing when you eat, morning vs evening, as well as avoiding polyunsaturated fats, so less pork and chicken unless you know it's diet is low PUFA, avoid all vegetable/seed oils any any products with them.

How are you doing now?

#3: sleep quality & amount, turn screens off an hour before bed
#4 lower stress levels with enjoyable hobbies & in person relationships
Is she eating a lot of dairy? That can make poops pale colored. If she feels fine, don't worry about it.
If PCOS is caused by highly insulin levels.
Lower carbs under 50 grams some under 20grams
Veggie carbs only
No carb drinks
More healthy fats, protein
Full fat dairy, if not affected by dairy

Well it did help me feel a lot better and finally lose weight. But in that time I had an abdominal hysterectomy and should have been in the ER 22 times with ruptured cysts. The only thing that keeps me from continuing to get them is my infrared light panel.

I could have used this information in 1990.

Me too! All those fertility treatments and the whole problem was the sugar
I know several people recently diagnosed with this. They are very thin but are struggling with infertility from what they were told was from PCOS.

And they can impact one anothers like stress trigerring Inflammation triggering then Insuline resistance etc.
I didn’t know this. Thanks for the info!
I’ve watched my 18 year daughter develop food obsession trying to manage pcos with food. The obsession is almost as damaging as the PCOS
@@Acts-1322 I’ll have to check him out! Thank you!
I wish I knew it before when I was young. Was eating a lot of carb. I was never overweight l, but I’m glucose intolerant now.
Thanks doc!
🙏🏽 Thank you Dr.
I am curious what I will see at my check up next year
There is a natural cure for pcos, and I got cured by using dr imennatural medicine no side effects, I meet him on UA-cam
❤😂🎉
I’m 55 yrs old was diagnosed in my 20s. I’ve been on diets since I was 15. I did find Keto and Atkins were the most helpful and felt the best. I however always fell off the wagon. For some reason I have never been able to sustain that way of eating, which is frustrating. I’ve been doing Berberine which has been helpful.
Thank you so much
I have inflammatory pcos.
I also have IBD.
Keto is the only thing that works.
Thank you Simple explanation
Hi doc
. Will it also be applicable for fibriods ? Thanks
my (what I suspect is) PCOS didn't start until I was pregnant.
I think my hormones and not eating enough protein at the time gave me high blood pressure and insulin resistance at the very least, so maybe not PCOS per se. either way I'm gonna try intermittent fasting and super low carb to help. thanks!
@@ryleereynolds5710 also my periods are always super regular and not painful at all luckily. so maybe you're right and I don't have the conventional PCOS. but I do have more of a mustache than I ever did before 😡
Where were you doc when I was suffering years ago?
Thank you doctor.
You can do it!
In 35 percent heavy cream there is close to zero carbs!
I make a black vienna. It's black coffee with whipped heavy cream. Pinch of stevia at first and then wean off the stevis. It's lovely.
@@jenjenthedragon8385 thanks I will give it a try.
Not in my case. I am keto 4 years. If you feel better then probably you are better, your body talks to you. Listen.
I was diagnosed in NY early 20s. Wish they had known more about it back then. I now have type 2 diabetes and trying to eat low carb
Grateful everyday for life
Thank you Dr 🙏
Hey Dr Berry 🙋🏾♀️
Will hair grow back after dealing with years long Insulin Resistance PCOS? :(
It will, to some degree
*_This is where I'd get a physician involved._*
DHT is converted from testosterone by 5 alpha reductase, DHEA upregulates 5 alpha reductase production.

Dr Berry, is there anything out there that will help us in the beginning with our severe sugar/carbohydrate cravings? Berberine or Inositol maybe?
Try some salt and eat some butter when they hit. That's what i did in the beginning.
Thanks!
I hope it will also discuss PCOS for underweight women.
You have Type I diabetes?
Reverse
1.Lower carbs total 50gram under maybe 20g
2. Carbs are veggies !!! No Grains, wheat rice, corn
3. Drink no carbs juice, sugar
4creplace healthy fats and protein...meat , eggs, full fat dairy ... some can feel no good on full dairy
Good luck watch other videos
Does long water fasting help? I'm doing rolling fasts meaning I water fast for a couple of day then I re freed for 4 hours and then fast again
What?? Really? How many grams did u take?

@@CG-mj8tk it's measured by bodyweight. Ivermectin paste has its own markers ie 50lb segment's and Fenbendazole when used in liquid form....you need a syringe like a child's medicine one, work out weight and daily amount and then down the hatch it goes. You can only take ivermectin once in a week (I would say month) as it does stay in your system for 6 days.

I’m doing 20:4 fasting, yesterday my Ketosis went to really really dark about 8+. I felt my heart racing and shaking. Heart felt pounding. I’m T2 Pre diabetic. just my fasting sugar is around 6.6 but my A1C was 5.4 but now came down to 5.2. Yesterday my sugar was 4.7 during my high ketones. Do I need to worry about anything? I ate some chicken soup and it came down to lighter around 4. I’m new to fasting. I eat low carb diet
20:4? That’s too many hours of fasting
Majority of people do 16:8
Electrolytes!! Potsssium, magenta and sodium!! Super super important for fasting!
Is water with squeezed lemon ok or still too risky?
Dr.
