- Cable trays size calculations
A cable tray is a crucial component in electrical systems as it provides a safe and secure means for running electrical cables. Calculating the correct size of a cable tray is important for ensuring that it can support the weight of the cables and also accommodate the required number of cables.
We need to select the correct size of the cable trays in order to safety of the cables as well cost saving.
In this video you know step by step process of cable tray selection :
Brief knowledge of cable trays :
A cable tray is a metal structure used to support electrical cables in various electrical systems. It provides a safe and secure means of routing cables and eliminates the need for cables to be suspended from the ceiling or walls. Cable trays are widely used in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. In this article, we will discuss the basics of cable trays, their types, and their benefits.
Basics of Cable Trays
Cable trays come in a variety of materials such as aluminum, steel, and fiberglass. They are available in different shapes and sizes and can be customized to fit specific installation requirements. Cable trays are typically installed above ground level and can be suspended from the ceiling or mounted on the walls.
Types of Cable Trays
There are several types of cable trays, each with its own unique design and characteristics. Some of the most common types of cable trays include:
Ladder Cable Tray: This is the most common type of cable tray and is widely used in commercial and industrial buildings. Ladder cable trays have a rung-like design and provide a sturdy and stable support for cables.
Trough Cable Tray: Trough cable trays have a U-shaped design and are typically used for heavy cable loads. They provide a large surface area for supporting cables and are commonly used in industrial settings.
Channel Cable Tray: Channel cable trays have a C-shaped design and are used for lighter cable loads. They are typically used in commercial and residential buildings and are easy to install.
Benefits of Cable Trays
Improved Cable Management: Cable trays provide a systematic and organized means of routing cables, which makes cable management easier and more efficient.
Increased Safety: Cable trays eliminate the need for cables to be suspended from the ceiling or walls, which reduces the risk of cables becoming dislodged or damaged.
Cost-Effective: Cable trays are cost-effective compared to other cable management solutions as they are easy to install and maintain.
Durability: Cable trays are made of durable materials and are designed to withstand harsh environments, which makes them a long-lasting solution for cable management.
In conclusion, cable trays are an essential component in electrical systems and provide a safe and efficient means of routing cables. They come in a variety of materials and designs and offer several benefits, including improved cable management, increased safety, cost-effectiveness, and durability. If you are planning to install a cable tray system, it is important to consider your specific requirements and choose a type of cable tray that best fits your needs.

Your are welcome
Sir make videos MV and HV Breaker Calculation and Sizing according to IEC
Sure will make video
Thank you sir...which cable is mostly used in UAE (Aluminium or Copper)?
Copper
For Kuwait the distance between the two cables should be 2xdia of the maximum cable otherwise we have to add correction factors while calculating cable size.
Thanks for watching and thanks too sharing details
