Thanks for sharing. My father was reduced from being able to build a complete race motor to not being able to connect a car battery correctly in a matter of like 5 years from Alzheimer's disease. He drove the small town school bus for like 30 years after retiring from the Navy. He drove to all of mine and my two little brother's away sports events. Everyone that rode his bus route loved him. Blew my away how many people came for his funeral, they had to seat people in the basement. He left a hell of a legacy also.
My father committed suicide when I was 15 I am now 34 it's not a day goes by I don't think about it you have my condolences

I’m in my 60’s and lost my 86 year old father this past Labor Day. He was diagnose with gleoblastoma, brain cancer, in July and passed 7 weeks later. We were close hunting buddies, and he taught me a strong work ethic and a sense of what is truly important. I grieve differently than my siblings, but have more of a sense of pride than sorrow, celebrating his life than mourning his passing. Again, we all grieve at different stages and in different ways. Blessings to you Josh…I can relate.
By far the best and most personal podcast I’ve watched on yt. I really enjoy both of yalls content but it was nice to hear from Josh on a more personal level. Kind of feel like you know him after watching this. Great stuff guys
I’m not crying your crying. I love watching you guys because you’re real. There’s no BS, you don’t change who you are after the cameras are off and so knowledgeable about not just archery but life. Rip to Josh’s dad and now I have to go call my dad and tell him I love him.
Have watched and learned from you both for quite some time. Josh is an awesome teacher and seems like he would be an extraordinarily good friend. Just wanted to say that the discussion of the relationship w his father and the story of his passing was as truthful and raw as anything I've seen on the web. It's messages like his that offset all the other useless crap that's out there. I'm going upstairs now to hug my son. Godspeed.
My dad died when I was 24 back in 2010, then my mom a year n half ago at 36. My grandfather (pap) had a stent put in his heart last Thursday, I took him waited and picked him up, everything went well but he's 84. He is my father figure and we have always been close but this really hit home and I'm sorry Josh! Thank younz both so much.
Sorry for your loss Josh. Thank u both guys I watch both a lot. Josh u have literally taught me so much I wish u could see it. I work on all my bows and my friends bows now cause of your videos. Thank yall both so much. Dan I’m a big bowtech man and cause of u I just bought a normal lift cause the pro shop dropped the price cause of the lift x. Thank u for always saying go shoot your bow. Archery has gotten me through so much this year.
A true testament to your character MFJJ, I'm sorry for your loss, as you said it comes for us all.. I enjoy both Elk Shape and Podium Archer U tube channels! Thanks for both of you for what u bring to the archery community!
I wasn't planning on bawling in my shop tonight guys ..wtf...Thanks Josh for being open and sharing your journey with us. You're a huge role model for a lot of us and it really means a lot to hear you talk about your journey
Sorry for your loss. I cried when you told the story, I lost my dad 2 years ago and everything you said seemed too familiar. Call your parents folks, spend time with them, love them, and appreciate them.
I was on recruiting duty on Christmas when I found out my father was stage 4 terminal cancer of his liver, the Marines I served with and my family are what got me through it. When I would get back in the woods, I’d reflect on the good times we had and it made the memories and loss so much easier to process. Prayers to JJ and his family. It will get easier and the thoughts of him will be more centered on the positive moments.
Hugs fors MFJJ and his family. But thanks you so much for sharing! We don't get much of this level of human life on any media often enough. Keep up the great content. And MFJJ take some time for yourself sir. We will be here when you get back.
My dad just turned 78 and he still works as hard as he did in his 30’s. Just slower. My mom has been gone almost 6 years now and I think about her everyday. My dad is the one that taught me how to cut meat and now I run our commercial meat plant. Congrats to both of you on your success! Just have to add as well that the way Josh’s dad left this Earth is almost the same as my mom. My dad had to give her chest compressions as well while on the phone with first responders. It’s tough man. I have a great relationship with my dad but this podcast made me realize how much better it could be so thank you for that.
Man. Sorry hear about your father. Went through same truly never know how much influence and impression they have on us until they are gone. We reminisce about those days and have a completely different view after they have left us. We also never know how much affect they have on others until they are gone and people share their stories with you about them. It’s like a completely different person than you knew. God bless
You wanted to make impact...... This podcast made an impact. One day I will shake your hand MFJJ and thank you personally for the impact you made with me both in archery and now in life.
My heart aches for Josh’s story, I lost my mom 7 years ago and she was in the hospital for a few days before I was even told about it, my brothers were holding a grudge against me for wanting to actually take care of her…..long story to that. But she had already been induced into a coma at the time so I had no chance to say goodbye to her.
Dang Dan why you doing us like this on a weekend!! Im assuming this is about 3 years old, and still feel bad for you Josh.. He's looking down on you very proud I promise you that..
Holly Molly I love watching ur podcast and videos, but today u hit a nerve. My Dad passed away 1 month after I got married, that impacted me a lot. It’s been 29 years, feels like yesterday… My Mom left us 7 years ago Still way too fresh
