A detail here. The Manta that Yachiru summoned, her Shikai , Minazuki, is written like “ Blood Drop”. Her bankai name is also Minazuki but it’s written to mean “End of Everything”.

Unohana killing and healing kenpachi over and over again just gave me chills their backstory mixed with the fighting was just truly a masterpiece really worthy of being called the battle of 2kenpachis

“In any era, there can only be one Kenpachi” when I first read this line, I interpreted it this way. The rules of the Kenpachi are:
- there can only be one
- must be strong af
- you must kill the previous title holder
Zaraki is the 11th Kenpachi but if we follow these rules, he’s technically the 2nd “true” Kenpachi, nurtured by the first Kenpachi, Unohana. She never died and technically meant that shes been the “true” Kenpachi all this time.

in any era, there can be only be one kenpachi but the kenpachi doesn't have to die to pass on the title. this is proven by unohana when she retired as the 11th division captain and abandoned the kenpanchi title to pass it to the next one in line. but the tradition of killing a captain to become the new captain is not a foreign concept in the 11th division squad. zaraki killed kenpachi kiganjo to obtain the captain title, as he already titled himself kenpachi and since unohana's retirement from 11th division, 10 captains have served as kenpachis in the division. azashiro soya, the 8th kenpachi, is still alive and was sentenced to the muken, the same prison unohana and zaraki had their fatal zanjutsu duel, but he eventually escaped the prison and is now lurking free out there. he used to undo some of aizen's seals to converse with him.

12:05 her shikai creates a living being who uses its acid fluids to heal, her bankai makes her sword produce acid that can both heal and melt, so she can heal herself and melt the opponent. Against Zaraki she did melt him to kill him and then healed him with the acids over and over until his full power came back.
She didn't melt his skin, it was a metaphor
@@Druguzu she was melting his skin, otherwise it would be a pointless bankai, she already healed herself using Kaido, what would she gain from a bankai that heals her instead of boosting her attack power? Even Minazuki name meaning, which means the end of all thing, it seems to you the name of a healing bankai? That bankai is dangerous both for her and Zaraki because when she melts she cannot select a target, she melts too when she is melting the enemy, the same way when she heals the enemy she heals herself, she risks to kill herself with that bankai if she missed the timing (PS: if both her shikai and bankai were all about only healing she didn't need kaido in the first place) In fact even when she was using Bankai, Zaraki spaced out a few times (just like all the other times he was "killed" and healed). Once Zaraki returned full power, he finished Unohana off with one hit.

@@Poisonedwight yeah, it's a metaphor. Otherwise, why would unohana turn into a skeleton for only a second. Then be fine in the next shot. He was only half skeleton, and when he saw her as a full skeleton, he realised, he realised he was holding back, he was not his true self.
@@Druguzu unohanas bankai effects her as well but she can heal unlike zaraki and when he dies again when the acid melted half his body he “woke up” like he did all the other times unohana had killed him. I mean neither of our opinions are confirmed but it’s just what we believe

Interestingly, Minazuki has different meanings depending on how the characters are written. The Bankai called Minazuki, when written, means "All Things End".

Minazukis ability reminds me of Malenia from Elden Ring, from the similarities to the scarlet rot, to Unohana healing herself with ease mid fight. Her bankai was never explained in the manga, so its cool to have some clues as to its true nature

Information in the Manga : Unohana's shikai name is Minazuki too, But the Kanji writing is different. The Kanji means "an end to people's lives"
I just realized...thanks to you Central 46 is essentially like Soul Societys diet, or parliament, or congress because the group that was active at the beginning of Bleach were all slaughtered by Aizen way back, there's a whole side of Soul Society outside the Gotei 13 that we don't know much about...besides the rukon districts ruffians.

Minazuki's name means "Meat Drop Gorge". The Shikai transforms into a giant stingray-like creature, having one eye, protruding paws, and can fly, serving as transportation. In addition, she is able to swallow the wounded, keeping them in her stomach and healing them with her gastric juices.
The Bankai, Minazuki (meaning: End of All), can liquefy the blade into a dense substance, solidifying a part into the shape of a smaller blade.
As we saw earlier, in the case of Tenjirou's waters, excessive healing power can cause the opposite effect of healing, deterioration, putrefaction. This information given in the anime and manga before the chapter that we would see Unohana's Bankai was not by chance. So that's exactly the power of the Minazuki Bankai, only worse. The slimy substance generated causes such extreme healing that it melts the tissues.
We know that Zaraki has extraordinary resistance due to his great reiatsu. And that's why Unohana's Bankai, not only undid his skin and flesh, but also restored him, because he is the type of Shinigami that can withstand the power of an extreme cure. Both he and Unohana support it.

11:21 I just realized this… Unohana's Zanpakutō is basically Kirinji's healing technique in Zanpakutō form. Her Shikai is like his cleansing pool and her Bankai is like his blood pool 😮.

As a shinigami who went through training from scratch, Renji harnessed the ability to connect with a nameless blade, Asauchi, until the bond between his soul and the blade becomes Zabimaru. Ichigo on the other hand, had shikai awakened forcibly, and in a permanent state.
He never knew much about who he was, what his power is, let alone, who Zangetsu really is.

Unohana finally passed over the Kenpachi title to Zaraki, and beautifully dead as a kind of relief. It seems she was ready to sacrify herself in this battle for just getting Zaraki back to what he really was at their first met. What a self-sacrificing spirit which brought my tears again. 😭😭😭

Just a trivia... her shikai and bankai are both minazuki, but the difference was how the kanji was spelled.
Minazuki in shikai is spelled 肉雫唼 (meaning: Flesh-Drops' Gorge)
While her Minazuki in bankai is spelled 皆尽(meaning: All Things' End)
the dude at the end was not the kenpatchi. it was the 11th squad captain at the time. zaraki killed him and took his place :)

Happy Bleach Monday, Bro. As always I was excited to watch your reaction. The animation was amazing for the conclusion of the KenUno fight. Unohana's Bankai was a joy to see animated and brought more clarity in its ability than in the Manga. Pure poetry. I have a theory that Unohana and Yama had some form of agreement with one another due to central 46 not wanting Kenpachi trained. She didn't always hide and you see it in past episodes when she narrows hers eyes at people and they get scared of her. Her true nature was always there under the sweet motherly healer. I think Yama's death also allowed her to have this final battle and she was ready to pass on her legacy to the one she felt worthy. Catch ya next week. 💕
The fact that she couldve just healed herself at the end and helped with the war makes me sad,

Since Unohana was the 1st Kenpachi and she never died, Kenpachi no. 2-10's titles are called into question.
So even though Zaraki is the 11th person to take on the name, he's without a doubt the 2nd Kenpachi.

Unohana`s Shikai and Bankai share the same name. Both the releases are part of the same thing, one represents healing and one represents killing.
not blood, acid. Minazuki is her Zanpakuto, a giant manta that can heal people inside its stomach. Minazuki is also the stomach acid itself which can be manipulated to either heal or melt. She’s essentially digesting him inside a giant stomach with her Bankai
The Battle was coloured red and bathed in blood, I loved it especially seeing it Yachiru Unohana say the famous word Bankai when the track was playing, gave me chills to what her power was, to train Zaraki to the point of now finally been able to hear his Zanpakto, the pain though was high to get it as we all felt it. 21:47 nope his zanpakuto is always speak to him, through time he suppress himself he cannot hear the zanpakuto's voice, when in ichigo and him fight for the first time, the Old man zangetsu senses Zaraki's Zanpakuto that she's screaming and crying into him(since the zanpakuto voice is a Girl) since he suppress himself he cannot hear his zanpakuto so Unohana is the key to unluck him....

It's not even that Central 46 was afraid Kenpachi would revolt if he got stronger, it was that if he ever did revolt, Soul Society would have NOTHING to defeat him. O_O He would outclass Yama, Unohana, AND Shunsui COMBINED. GOATED.

If you really think about it, about why he didn't get chosen, he did not get the chance to interact with his Asauchi. Also, he needs to go back to his roots to find balance in his powers since he's part soul reaper, hollow, quincy and fullbringer.
