Nicely done review! For the price of these locomotives, atlas could've went through the trouble of putting the front grab irons on. As for the headlights....there are separate LEDs for the headlights and ditch lights. When the headlights are on and the ditch lights are off, the headlights bleed through the ditch lights making it look like the ditch lights are on.

I was kinda of wonder if it was, but i wasn't sure. The light bleed through ditchlights are as bright as if the ditchlight were on. Thanks for clarification. Alot of companies include extra items to install after the fact. I believe they didn't install them because they would have gotten damaged in transport

Nice review and speaking of Atlas model trains they're actually based in Hillside nearest NJ transit station Union or Newark Penn Station that's where they go electric mode to New York 34th Street Penn Station.

Nice and it seems they are highly detailed to due Atlas model trains being located close to NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line which has the ALP-45DP operate High bridge (I-78 exits 16-17) to 34th St., Penn station (1, 2 ,3 A, C, E Trains LIRR and M34SBS) which does pass through Hillside. They do have the ALP-45DP in Canada its operated in the Montreal area perhaps atlas model should have done them AMT

Ok, let me explain the purpose of this kind of locomotive to you all.
The purpose for the ALP-45-DP provides a one seat commute into midtown Manhattan from the suburbs of New Jersey and back. Without commuters having to change trains. Same thing in Montreal, Quebec through the Mount Royal tunnel. I have this engine in HO scale, as well as the cars. I love them!

Hey what model railway club is this or is this your own personal layout? Also the paint is basic but it resembles the real life model really well even the orange grab irons

How do you control it? Is it comparable with other controllers from other companies?

Does it break down very often like the real thing ?

What would be the cheaper buy? Buying the locomotive and bilevel cars separate or buying them in a set?

if you want sound you have to buy locomotive individually. There isn't much of a price difference buying said items individually then the set. The set has road numbers that aren't available individually though.

Railway City Productions And if I were to get the set I would need to have someone install the DCC for me, correct?

I have a silver series that I'm installing sound in. Is it hard to remove the shell??

Sorry gregory, i honestly never attempted to take the shell off. I don't have any to test either.

Quick question. What controller and power pack should I use for the gold version of the NJT? I'm fairly new to model railroading, and when I get the chance, I'm going to buy a ALP-45DP with a few trailers. I've never had a model train before and don't want to do any disassembling of traincars. Also, is a computer required? What are the basic requirements?

Magnetic Moron I just bought a gold version on eBay last night. I was told to buy a NCE PowerCab control system, which is a full setup, complete with a power pack. I should get them in the mail next week, but everything should work flawlessly.

Jersey Shore Rail Productions Thank you! I'm pretty new to this with no experience whatsoever. Guess I'm a noob.
